Wow, I can't believe this. For the past 4 days since I installed my new eVGA card, I've had no improvement in frames or fluidity over my ATi RAdeon X850 XT PE card. In fact, frames were terrible in the VC of the PMDG 747-400 last night in a t-storm, down to a range of 3 to 8.Why?Because.....because I forgot to edit the FS9.cfg file and DELETE the ATI card. And the eVGA card was not even inside the cfg file,a arghhh!!On making this simple edit, frames have now risen hugely and I now get fps of 20 to 35 in full t-storms in the PMDG Queen. SPOT view frames are 25 to 60. Clear weather frames are as high as 300 in the default Cessna, averaging 150 to 200. Man, this rock…

I have the ASUS P5W-DH Deluxe Motherboard.I installed 2 Raptors..and did the following1. Went to BIOS and set it as RAID2. Ctrl-I and went to Intel Matrix and selected the HD Pair for RAID 0 and created a Volume.3. Did a f6 and loaded the RAID Driver from the Floppy.The system continues to load few other drivers and just about starts the Win XP load, I get a blue screen of death saying that my HD or controler has a virus asks me to run Chkdsk /F in it.I removed the two raptors and tried with 2 sets of 7K RPM HDs...I get the same error. I tried installing on non RAID config. I am able to install all the disks and format each of them and no problems.I just can't do a RAID 0…

I hope this forum is ok for this question or vice-versa!A friend of mine used to span its FS9 window across the 2560 pixel of 2 lcd monitors (full screen I assume).Is it possible to acheive the same with FSX?For me: In full screen, the second monitor goes black. I have Windows XP SP2 and I run two monitors (1 LCD, 1 CRT) from a single VGA card (not too strong card, ATI RADEON 9600 AGP 128Mb DDR). I am generally running undocked panels on the second screen. I run FS9 in windows mode on the first monitor.I experience anoying short stops in screen refreshing at every 9-12 secs even if the voerall FPS is OK. If I turn off Windows desktop from my second monitor (Diplay Properties/Settings and I removed the Windows desktop spreading to the second monitor [i do not know the exact checkbox title in English as I have Hungarian Windows]) the problem dissapears. Hey i want to upgrade the video card i have now, a Geforce 5600 256 to something alittle better. I dont want anything near the top of the line but this card limits me in terms of what i can do for quality in FSX so i want something maybe up to $100 or so that is better than mine. Maybe i'll get whatever the lowest 512mb card is? Little help? Hello folks out there i just put in my system a sata 10.000 rpm 74 gig raptor hard drive, it is now my D drive.what im wanting to know is what would be a good set up for my system when i load FSX.i have a 80 gig sata for my c drive that my operating system is on, it is just a 7200 rpm hard drive.how can i utilize my system to get the best performance, should i do a complete format to both drives and load the operating system to the raptor and load the FSX on the C drive or what.what would be the best set up .Thanks...........Robert

I currently have a WD 80Gb HD installed with SP1 but not SP2. I am, for whatever reason, unable to install SP2. I get about halfway through, and I get an "Access Denied" message. I have looked on the web for solutions but have found nothing that works besides a reinstall Windows XP option. The only problem is, is that I have a lot of programs and other info that I will lose if I do a complete reinstall.My question is, can I just get another hard drive (for C: drive) and do a fresh install on that drive, reinstall FS9 and other associated files on it, and place the current hard drive as drive D: ? I have a SATAII drive and an IDE drive. What is the best way to set up Windows XP and FS9 between these disks for best FS9 performance? I assume that Windows should be on the SATA drive, however where should I put the Windows swap, and should I install FS9 to the slower IDE drive or perhaps just put the scenery on that drive?... ok i could just buy more SATA drives but I'm skint!

Although I haven't really been enthused about flying the "bigger Iron", lately I've been thinking of trying out the Boeing 737 especially after flying one at the Avsim Conference in Dulles, Virginia recently.So, before purchasing the PMDG model, I downloaded the 'Boeing 737 experience' model and will practice with this one til I go for the more detailed one. But the thing I'm noticing is when attempting to calibrate the throttles and the CH throttle quadrant. I'm trying to conserve "office real estate" with my upgrade plans and I'm thinking of going to a micro ATX case (actually, I like the look of the Antec Fusion case!).Are there any downsides to mATX boards? I'm planning on a E6600 with 2G sitting on a P5LD2-VM. I don't see any shortcomings other than fewer slots (which I wouldn't be using anyway!).

Hi guys and gals - I have two PCs in my office which currently do not talk to each other. I would like to network them so as to be able to run some programs like Radar Contact and Active Sky off my non flight sim PC. What is the cheapest and easiest way to make this happen? In order to run some flight sim apps on another PC, I believe I need a program called WideFS which is related to FSUIPC. I already have a registered copy of FSUIPC, do I need to buy WideFS separately? Thanks for help!!

I have a geforce 7600gs 256mb ddr2. yeah I know no big deal. I know it's sli capable or ready if you will. I am confused with sli. I need an sli motherboard to utilize this?? I have a velocity micro 6400 with 2 2.13 ghz processors. How do I know if I can use this sli and what is this sli?? I am totally confused about this and the future cards. I have tried to download and install new Liveries for my 2004 version of PMDG 737 NG. Everytime I try to download the new liveries I first save the files and when I try to run/ them the computer tells me it dosn't know what file to use to install the new liveries or aircraft and airlines I have chosen to download. Anyone know what the problem and cure for this is.???
