Hi, I posted this in the General Hardware forum, but no-one seems to go in there much...Just thought I'd write a few lines in praise of my new Antec P180 case. Until now my machine was housed in a cheap and nasty ATX case with very poor airflow and poor manufacturing quality. I had two 80mm fans in there, but they're noisy and not very efficient.I have an Athlon 64 3700+ clocked at a standard 2.2GHz, 2Gb of PC3200 memory, a PowerColor X800 GTO 256Mb cards, an S-ATA drive and a DVD writer. My CPU is cooled by a Zalman ALCU7000 Super Flower cooler, and my mobo (Asus A8N-E) has a Zalman passive cooler on the Northbridge chip.In my previous case, the CPU temp was about 44

Help please. My system crashed and I had to reinstall Windows XP and all my programs. I have a complete backup (copy) of my FS9 folder which obviously contains all my add-ons (LD-767 PMDG 747,737, Ultimate Terrain, BirdsEyeView, Ultimate Traffic, FSGenesis, etc). In other words, a great many add-ons and customized settings. My question is how best to restore all of this without making a mess of things. Should I simply reinstall FS9 and then copy ALL of the backup files to the FS9 directory while overwriting everthing that was part of the original install? What would you guys suggest? HiI have to change my old PC in the next 3 Month.I will buy a new: - Intel Core Duo 6800 Extreme- 2 GB Memory 800- AND 2 NVIDIA Graphic adapters, but I will not by the actual but the new ones that support the DX10 in Windows Vista and FS X (after a patch)When does ASUS or others sell this new cards?Thanks Peter

What is the field of view at normal zoom with the Matrox Triple Head To Go? I understand it is a bit less than the expected 3 x 45 = 135 degrees. I'd appreciate it if an owner could do a quick check.The easiest way to measure it is to turn on on-screen heading information with Shift-Z and rotate the aircraft in slew mode with the number pad 1 and 3 keys.--Bryn

I"m a new member so be gentle. I have Flight Sim 2004 and I have PMDG 737 NG and also US Regional Airliners installed on my computer. I'm running windows XP. The problem I'm having is, when I'm using the PMDG mode with a 737-700 or other The Approach and landing never works as outlined in the manual. The aircraft follows the entire route until it gets to the destination airports. Then it falls apart. I have never been able to get the Approach Switch to iluminate or ever work. The vor switch shows it is enabled, but when I try to switch to the Approach command and it will not work. Anyone have any ideas or ever run into problems with the FMC in their simulations???????

Can someone here comment on how well they like their CH Throttle Quad? I have the USB yoke and pedals and love them. Although I have a 737NG flight deck project Im working on, I also am working on a generic sim too and I am thinking of adding the CH 6 lever TQ to the project. ALSO, can you please post the external deminsions for me LxWxH and Height of levers so that I can incorporate that into my design?ThanksEric T

Something VERY funny going on with graphics drivers and Flight Simulator X.Installed Demo, and no matter what AA settings etc, things didn't look that great, AA didn't seem to be working that well, plane reflections looked dithered (I posted on here saying the aircraft looked much worse than in FS9) and general performance was awful (Core 2 @ 3.2 gig + X1900XT ...!!)I then installed the latest beta ATI driver, and everything is better - like night and day.Peformance is 3 times better, AA etc is now working, graphics effects like flare etc are working ...It was almost as if before FSX was running in a pseudo software emulation mode ... non-accelerated graphics. Why, with the gigantic expertise available worldwide, no one seems to have found a simple way to use any software with any OS? Some sort of a translator. I'm just wondering what makes it impossible. Or is it? Does it have to be an all or none thing?

Hi everyone. Hope the weekend has been good to you all. This past year at Sun n Fun, I saw an avionics demonstrator that used the Flight1 C172 aircraft as the panel and the foward outside view was placed seperately on a bigger screen (large LCD). It looked sorta like this :http://www.simcockpitsystem.com/Detail.bok?no=23but was more in a console-like setup. Anyhow, what I want to know is how do we show only the aircraft panel in FS on one pc and then the external forward view on a second one like in the above picture? It's almost as if the lower display showing the panel is blown-up to get the larger size. thanks,

I'm still using the demo version but there doesn't seem to be any way to calibrate my throttle quad so that reverse thrust, propeller feather, or idle cutoff work. Is that true of the retail version? ThanksDavid

Just as I was about to hit post on my original post, I thought of another idea to fix the problem, and it worked.....This is my 2nd attempt at installing FSX.... Both times, it didn't unlock the dvd drive so I could not eject disk 1 to insert disk 2. Froze up windows when I tried right-clicking on the dvd drive and clicking the eject there.... Reboot, delete FSX directory after checking that it was not yet available in the start menu or add/remove programs, try again, same problem.....Had a post ready to submit asking for help, when I think, would disk 2 work in my other dvd drive.... Insert disk 2 into my older dvd drive, and now installation continues.... Weird, but…

Just wanted to say that I replaced my old video card (nVidia 5900FX) with this card and have noticed amazing improvements. Not ready to put my rig to rest I took the advice of a forum member and upgrded my video card.I now fly FS9 with sliders full right including 3d clouds. I have my frames locked at 20 and get 13-18 at addon sceneries like KSEA and KPDX or geo renders fields.If I do away with 3d clouds notice that the FPS are almost always locked at 18-20.For me flying in a 172 is very acceptable and enjoy the added clouds.Just wanted to share incase anyone was on the fence about keeping there AGP mobo only systems longer but wanted some of the new card benefits.
