Although I notice this much more with FSX, I have also seen it in FS9. My system is quite new:ASUS A8N32-SLIAMD 64x2 4500+2GB Corsair TWINX 3500LLnVidia 6600GT video card.WinXP SP2 with the dual core hotfix.I have tried re-loading chipset and video drivers (and DX9C) several times but no change. Typically, I will be climbing out at 1,000 feet or so, and the video screen freezes, as does the mouse. Sound usually continues for a bit then it too freezes. After perhaps 20 seconds both video and sound unfreeze, sometimes for less than a second before the entire process is repeated, other times it may be longer. It's weird how there appears to be some altitude relationship …

  3. Hello AllI would just like to know how a new PSU is fitted. When you buy a replacement does it come with all the necessary cables that you have to connect to the individual parts in your computer(drives, graphics etc and then to the PSU) or is there just one connection that fits from the spaghetti in your machine into the back of the PSU i hope it is the latter.cheers Andy

Hi guys, I have an intel penitum4 3.2gh with 1gh of Ram and 60gb HD memory; I used to have nvidia 128mb and used it with flight simulator 2004 with no problems; I have recently upgraded to graphic crad to nvidia Ge force 6600 256mb thinking that it would boost my system; to my disappointment I am facing problems after installing it; the screen freezes after sometime (5-15mn) then go black and the system reboots. I am so frustrated I went through all troubleshooting, downloaded the latest nvidia drivers and tried all possible settings with no positive results; the game is still freezing specially when you fly in complex sceneries; can you please help me with that as I know…

Both are dual core CPU and cost about 250-280 Euro.If an grafic card would be better for me, please tell me, which one i can use?Cost should not be higher than 280

Now that 19 and 21" LCD monitors are becoming almost the norm for some FS users, what is the biggest LCD that can be used for FS that will be sharp and the right aspect ratio (that wont contort the round gauges in 2d panel)?I want to display the whole image, not just external visuals (panel and all) and clarity is a big issue with this project. I am not entirely opposed to wide screen format, but i realize that the 2d panels dont look too hot. Thanks for the info, as I have no clue how to choose aspect ratio.Eric

Hi!I plan to upgrade my system to meet the challanges of FSX(which I already have; I currently use FS2004)My specs so far are: AMD 64 FX-55 CPU, 1,5 gig DDR-SDRAM,Radeon X800 PRO video card.I don't plan to change my mainboard, so a new video card would have to be AGP.So, do you think just upgrading my CPU would be enough, orjust the video card, or both.I am, of course after better performance in FSX.What would you recommend for AGP video card and CPU (I have a 939slot)Grateful for tips and help.......Thanks!Hans HermanssonSweden

  12. How long as FS9 been out? We all know the answer and we all have been battling frame rates and blurries for all that time. In preparation of FSX I decided to build a new computer. State of the art. Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 (running at 2.7Ghz) (2) ATI 1900XTX (crossfire cards) 2G DDR2.. blah blah blah.... I reinstalled FS9.1 with every add on know to man. GEpro, UT, PMDG, Genesis, etc etc and to my amazement FS9 runs like a dream with EVERYTHING maxed out 1920 x1200 on a Dell 24". No Blurries, max frame rate 6x AA, 16x AS (Crossfire). No concerns about frame rate hits due to clouds or 3rd party airports. FS9 in this configuration blows FSX out of the water. (maybe FSX water …

Hi everyone.I recently purchased FSX the Deluxe edition and noticed that I' couldnt get it running as nice and smoothe as FS9 (I was expecting this and am not too dissapointed about it as I knew FSX would be ahead of the tech curve - at least my current level - see specs in sig.) I like FSX but cant seem to finish a lengthy 1 1/2 flight without a spontaneous system reboot... Althought I'm really looking forward to making this my default sim as opposed to FS9.However now I find I'm getting a little tense with the stuttering and low frame rates and the reboots although I did find that it runs better in a higher resolution 1600x1200 than lower res' - go figure. I was contemp…

The last day or so I have been hearing chirps and squeals from my computer. Worring that I may be near a failure, I want to replace the hard drives. The system is a Dell Dimension 8300, P4 3.2 ghz, 3 gig ram, GeForce 7800GS. I have 3 hard drives. C=Seagate ST380011A, 40 gig, 7200rpm. D=Western Didital WD400BB, 80 gig, 7200rpm and E=Iomega HDS72808 an 80 gig USB external for some backup. I lost a primary drive years ago and don't want to go through that again. So, with the system going on 4 years, I thought it might be wise to replace the internal drives before one dies. What would be a logical purchase considering I would want good performance and quality? And how do I go…

  19. I have the "Creative Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS SB0350 7.1 Channels PCI Interface Sound Card" that came with the Dell XPS Gen2 PC.When I built my PC, I thought I could use that card.http://www.newegg.com/Product/ShowImage.as...nd+Card+%2D+OEMHowever, it doesn't seem to fit. The Slot on the MB and the Sound Card is off my 2mm or so.. cause its hitting against the Case (Lian Li).I am not sure if its the card, or the Lian Li Case or the ASUS MB. Or did I place the MB on the case wrong. I thought the spacers that I had to put on the Case and the MB scerewed to it are all standards. The Video card that I bought seems to fit. Is it possible that Dell uses non standard Audio cards?…

Having just bought a new Xbox 360, I've decided that my standard tv/pc monitor combo does not do justice to it's graphics. So I'm looking at buying an HD widescreen TV with PC input.Problem is, it's for a small bedroom, so I don't want a big unit, but the resolution is only 1366 x 768. I run FS at 1280 x 1024, and switched back to 1024 x 768 and found the quality was awful. I couldn't read anything on the LVD 767 autopilot. The only TV's with a resolution high enough to run 1280 x 1024 are 42" units - way too big (and expensive) for my needs.Am I right in thinking that I will be unable to run FS (or any game on the PC) at more than 1366 x 768? Will the lower resolution mak…

Hi all,I need some advice on X-fi soundcards and their Fatal1ty series in particular. Currently, I have an Audigy 2ZS and whilst its a great card, with the PMDG 747 I get sound crackling when throttling up or down. No matter whatever soundset I use, I still get this crackling and static sound that ruins the whole experience with this airplane. Their latest soundset seems to have removed a great deal of crackling but some remains. Now, the issue seems to be the Panel sounds and the FS engine sounds. Due to them being separate and requiring a lot of processing power, I get these static sounds with my card. Now, with that in mind, what sort of difference would I be getting If…

I have looked at the past 2 weeks worth of posts to see if there is anything on this. When I start a free flight my controls are fine for about 20 secs. After that they freeze up or get delayed making controling the aircraft impossible. If I give slight motions nothing happens except watching the v/c stick turn hard to one side or the other...I have calibrated, plugged/unplugged from USB with no go... I have a steady 23fps, so I don't think it is lagYesterday all was well.. today all I did was get FSUIPC 4 up to make AS6 workAnyone have any ideas??? I am very happy with FSX because I have been a victim of those random FS9 CTD... thanks for any help.jim
