Hi all, I'm in the process of a new system build over the course of the next few months. Already have the case: LianLi PC65B and have pretty much settled on the Corsair CORSAIR CMPSU-620HX ATX12V v2.2 Power Supply. I won't be running SLI. I'm currently considering the following Mobo's: ASUS P5K LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX and GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3R LGA 775 I do have a budget which these boards fit in nicely and the both support the P35 chipset as well as the upcoming 65nm processors. If anyone has any experience with either of these boards I'd appreciate any comments. Thanks, Craig ASUS A8N- nForce SLI Chipset SATA RAID Dual PCIe MOBOAMD ATHLON64 3500+ CPU w/ HT TechL…

Hello :)I am building a new computer that should hopefully be finished end of this month... I wanted everyone's opinion on it :)but I have a few Qs 1st...should I go for a core 2 duo E6600 or a core 2 quad Q6600... the price is roughly twice (actually more I think) then a E6600... I mean i'm not rich by any means, after building this computer, i'll prolly be left with like 100 bux (i am getting all my pilot ratings/certs so it is taking up allll my money)and also do you recc. any good but cheap P35 chipset motherboards?these are really the only 2 things that I need... I have ram, and a pretty nice SATA HD I also have a water cooler...

I have a EVGA 8800 640OC I went to EVGA web site to look for the latest drivers. They listed a 158.45 dated May 29 07 and it was not a WHQL signed driver, so I looked at Nvidia site and found there 8800 driver 158.24 dated June 1 07 and was an WHQL signed driver. So the question is; which one if any, would one use. With VISTA, unsigned can give headaches, as I understand.:-)

I am ordering a new computer (for FSX and LD767) and the dual 8800 Ultra are $800 more than the dual 8800 GTX's. That's a big jump on a $6000 Dell Quad core, 4 MB Ram etc.My question is: Will I ever see any real difference with the Ultra and is it worth the extra $800 beans. It'll push a $6000 computer to $6800 - which is starting to get a bit high.I'd appreciate this boards expert advise and will go with the consensus.Thank YouPaul

I have an nVidia 7950GT, WinXP. I use dual monitors, not just for FS but other applications too.Is there any noticable performance hit from using dual monitors? Or are the additional resources there to support the second monitor, so it makes no difference? Often I just have my second monitor with a blank desktop when I'm in FS, I use it more for e-mail and spreadsheeting as it's closer to the keyboard. Thanks, Bruce.

Some add-ons make it difficult to save a flight and resume it without a hitch (e.g. PSS A32x). Does anybody know if it's possible to effectively save the computer's state (similar to hibernation - hiberfil.sys) and resume it whenever you want? As long as there's plenty of disk space, this seems like a perfect solution to saving flights. Thanks,Alden

I have recently upgraded a few things in my computer and this includes the cooling system - I now have my AMD X2 4800+ running 3.06GHz at only 40 degrees under continuous load ;) I'm still messing around with the RAM settigns though and I have a question: Does anyone have an idea which of the following speeds should be better from an FS perspective:2 x 1Gb DDR PC3200 running at 167Mhz at CAS = 2.5vs. The same RAM running around 200MHz but down to CAS = 3.0Any idea? It might be a silly question but I'll take the risk :) I think I'll test with both just to make sure it's stable...Geoff

It's like any kind of haze uses an Alpha value close to 1 which turns the haze into a thick white goo.I have already tried to update the Vista graphics drivers to the latest version from Intel. Can't get rid of the white goo, except turning all weather off.Christian
