I bought these rudder pedals and set them up in FS 2004. They seem to work fine for rudder and ailerons, but with the pedals in resting position, namely up, the brakes are full on. The only way to release the brakes is to depress them fully, the exact opposite of what they are supposed to do. Saitek support says there is nothing wrong with them but to use reverse on the axis assignment.Have others had this problem? I want to make sure they were not miswired or something.Greg

Hi FolksOrdered a new WD Raptor 10'000RPM 150GB 16mb SATA II drive today, this is going into my soon to be finished Core2Duo rig for FSX, my question is, should I have XP and FSX on the same drive? (I also have 1 x 500gb 7200RPM & 1 x 250gb 7200RPM drive in this machine)I would be partitioning the Raptor but wonder if there is any advantage of having FSX on a different drive (not partition)than the OS, I know its beneficial having the swap file on a separate drive. All drives are SATA II and I'm pretty confident of a good overclock with the parts I've bought, just not sure about this aspect or if it really makes any difference? *if* it is advantageous to have FSX on a …

Finally got my Trackir4. An absolutely amazing product, however I am having an issue with my CH joystick and throttle. I am trying to reprogram the hotkeys from Trackir4 to my CH joystick and throttle. In particular I am trying to assign the PAUSE, PRECISION, and CENTER hotkeys. What I've noticed is that certain buttons/hats can be assigned for these hotkeys while others refuse to take the assigned hotkey. Does anyone know the reason for this and how it can be remedied? Thank you.

Several weeks ago I got back into IL-2. I bought it several years ago, but FS always lured me away. This time I stuck with it just long enough to start having fun. I've been thinking very hard about getting a new joystick. (In FS I fly with a yoke, unless it's helicopters.) The Saitek X52 has a lot of attractive features, but for that price I want something durable, and I'm a little worried on that front. This morning, on a whim, I froogled "sidewinder precision" and found that I could get a new Precision Pro (not Precision Pro II) for about $35 (US). Would anyone who has this care to comment? Save me from a bad purchase? Urge me toward a good one?

Guys I need some advice. I recently upgraded to a new PC. I use a CRT 21 inch NEC monitor that I will never give up until she dies...just too good a picture.Anyway, I took my old PC (which still has 2 gigs of RAM and an Nvidia 7600 GS video card in it!) and gave it to my daughter. We had a flat panel display laying around from one of my other kids PC's and we hooked it up for her. When booting, the screen looked yellow. I'd seen that kind of "look" before from CRT monitors that had lost an RGB gun. Anyway, I thought "ok..bad monitor."...so we swapped it for another Dell flat panel monitor from my other Daughters PC (which works just fine.)Still the yellow screen.…

I have fiddled around for a good few hours now, trying to get the latest NVIDEA Driver to work anywhere near as good as the previous version.Am I missing something?I discovered ages ago to switch the AA on in the Sim and do that in both FS9 and in FSX... but with the new driver I can't get a quality picture. The old driver, 94.74 worked real fine so for now, I have changed back to that.Anybody know what is supposed to work better with the new driver and what am I supposed to be aiming for. For me, the new driver seems no faster than the old... and I have tried for hours to find a setting that will give me a reasonable picture quality in FSX...Is there a decent write up …

I have been reading this topic that was locked by "Not a Senator" AKA Brian G. Allcott as usual jumped on Al then the bandwagon started. Al did nothing wrong here other than stick up fpr himself. Then "Not A Senator" chimes in with his two cents like Allcott then locks the forum. Al makes a comment then gets hit with personal attacks from Allcot. Allcott who cares if something has been posted before? Why do you feel the need to judge people? Not A Senator, why do you feel to hop on the bandwagon and bash Al too? Al didn't come out with the personal attacks here but you continually permit Allcott to bash and attack others on the forums. JMO

I bought a computer about a year ago. The specs are as fallows:Hewlett-Packard CompanyCompaq PresarioAMD Athlon 64 Processor3500+984 MHz, 960 MB of RAM1 GB Memory250GB Hard DriveBackground:I use FS2004 with Active Sky, LVL-D 767, PMDG747, almost every high quality payware scenery, and just recentley AI Traffic.Problem:While on the ground my FPS are poor but not only are they poor they are not steady. For example, Running Active Sky while in the PMDG 747 VC at Cloud9's LAX I experience 4-10 FPS. However the frame rates fluctuate anywhere from 4-10FPS by the second. At cruise i average 15-22 FPS but again...they are never consistant and always jumping around from 22 to …

Hi,Sorry if this has been answered previously - I could not find it...I'm using TrackIR 4 with the clip Pro. Great product, by the way! Here's the thing: When I'm in a plane's VC, I'd like to open a new window / view (also with the VC view in it), move it to my second monitor (which is to the right of my main monitor), resize this new window to fill this second monitor (I run in full screen mode), and adjust the view so it's looking about 30-40 degrees to the right. In other words, set my two monitors up so that they together appear as one wide monitor, so I can see further to the right on the second one. This is, in itself, probably not too difficult, but what I have yet …

Hello there.I'm looking into getting the ASA Flight Training Device, and I see that it includes an AV-1 radio stack. I've talked to ASA and they say that it is not compatible with FS2004. Just wondering if anyone has found a way to make the two work together? Thanks!

Hi Gang.I'm running the 93.71's at the moment on an ABIT IC7 Max III Mobo, with a P4 3.40 CPU and a Gainward Bliss 7800 GS 512MB Graphics Card with a Hercules Digifire 7.1 Sound Card and 2 Gigs of RAM on Win XP Pro with SP2.What I wanted to ask is have there been any real improvements on the Nvidia drivers lately.I don't always change them just for the sake of grabbing the latest as some people report that they have not noticed an improvements at all.The one thing that I have noticed since changing the graphics card (properly I might add) from my old ATI one is that I don't have the aircraft viewer in FS 9.1 any more.I can live without this at a push, as I know whats in m…

I have FS9 w/ over 30gb addons, both free and payware. Problem is, with my new nVidia 8800GTS I cant get it to work...The graphics simply doesn't respond to anything I do in the card control panel. I did everything from tweaking to full format HD and reinstallation of everything from scratch - no effect. Funny is that FSX works great with the new card. The only problem is - it is stock....Being used to the quality and variety of addons in my FS9, flying FSX stock now is just plain dull....Anyone in similar situation? Anyone can suggest anything?

Hi,just installed my new nVidia 8800GTS 320/640. Seem to have a problem setting it up properly for FS2004. Trying various combos of settings and FS9 still looks crap - rough edges on acft, etc. Updated driver from nvidia site - same thing. Previously had ATi X850XT Pro 256/256 and it ran FS2004 to max with no problems (only in really congested a/ps with heavy traffic had some slowdown in frame rates).Anyone running on 8800GTS pls advise on optimal card settings for FS9. Apreciate it alot!Thnx!IL76MDP4 3.0, 2gb RAM,8 800GTS, 200Gb HDD,WinXP Pro, FS9 and FSX.

I turned in my new ATI card for my design machine and got a 7600GSOC 512 card. I am replacing my aged TI4200 128 MB card. Here's what happens when I take out the TI4200 and replace it with the 7600 (note, lol, much higher clock speed and 4 times the RAM): I lose about 9 fps and the textures take about 40 seconds to load where as the old card loaded them in a flash.Steps I have taken:1)uninstalled nvidia drivers in windows as prescribed by Nvidia Windows XP/2000 32-bit ForceWare Release 90Version: 93.71Release Date: November 2, 2006WHQL Certified 2)turned off computer and installed new card - with power supply adapter3) restarted computer in Safe Mode4)installed latest …

Hi!I'm about to upgrade my system and was wondering about wich processor to choose. From what I've already researched so far, it is likely that an Intel processor would problably out-run the AMD in matters of performance. So, Wich would be better to run FSX: an Intel Pentium D 960 Dual Core 3.6Ghz FSB800 2x2mb cache OR Intel Core 2 Duo Extreme Edition x6800, 2.93 GHz, Dual Core, FSB 1066 Mhz, Socket LGA, 4 MB Cache? Many thanks,Lucas.
