Hi,I've had my X52 Pro since February and its always worked fine. As I recall I did even have any problems installing the drivers the first time after I purchased it.I've not used it for a few weeks and when I plugged it in Windows Vista stated that the drivers weren't installed. So I downloaded the Vista 32 bit drivers Saitek_X52Pro_Flight_Controller_3000_107_32.exe and tried to install it. When I do so I get to the the message from 'Saitek Driver Update Wizard: Driver setup - Please plug in the controllers you want to update' but 'Next >' is greyed out. I tried plugging the X52 Pro into different USB ports but it made no difference. I managed to install the drivers m…

July 22nd looks like a fun day. http://www.hkepc.com/bbs/itnews.php?tid=789466Not sure if I want to go for the Quad @ 2.4GHz on the 1033MHz FSB, or the Dual @ 3.0GHz on the 1333MHz FSB. I'm sure the Dual will have much better OCing potential, and the higher FSB might benefit FSX quite a bit, but I just don't know yet how much benefit FSX will have with 4 cores over 2. Hopefully after SP1 someone will generate that data, though I don't suppose it is likely, or is it?

I'm pretty new to MSFS 2004 and I'm currently running on a 10 month old Emachines with Celeron 3.2ghz processor, XP Home edition, ATI Pro 1300 XT video card and 2gb of RAM, locked and getting about 25 fps at climb, cruise and at default airports, down to 10-12 fps at my home simflyers KPHL (Philadelphia Int'l.) on taxi, and I'm fairly happy with it, but I would like to go with a Pentium 4, if at the right price. I run FS GENESIS down to 32m mesh, Ground Environment Pro and RealEnvironment Pro (No Active Sky YET) addons, and a couple of ProjectOpensky planes, but nothing too taxing (yet).I just got an email from TigerDirect this morning offering the following for $399:Mi…

Hi everyone,I've owned a Dell P4 3.0 Ghz Dimension 8300 since back in 2002/3 (can't remember exactly when!). To say this trusty machine has lasted me would be an understatement. Aside from two upgrades in the last 4 years, its the same as it was when I bought it, and it still does a #### fine job of running FS2004, and the odd other game I occasionally play (Half Life 2/F.E.A.R. style shooters). I upgraded the 128mb ATI 9800 Pro that came with the machine, around 2005, with a 256mb X800XT Platinum Edition (AGP). This card cost me over

I recently upgraded my system from 3GB to 4GB. When I do a check of my memory using My Computer Properties I see 3.2GB. If I reboot and do F1 to go to Setup my hardware see's 4GB. I was told by the company support line where I bought the memory that the Windows 32bit OS only recognizes up to 3GB. They gave me the option to send the other 1GB back. But before I do I'm looking for some input from here because I primarily use my system for FS. Any advantage to keeping the 4GB?Thanks in advance to all who reply.Bill

Hello all, Having a problem at the moment trying to put together a new system, and I'm lokking for a quick point in the right direction. I know nothing about motherboards, and searches that I have conducted on websites trying to purchase a suitable one have been like reading Greek. (I'm not Greek). I am getting a core2duo e6600 and I have a separate sound card and I have a Gainward Bliss 7900gs, its agp, so I'm basically looking for an AGP motherboard, socket 775 that can handle high freq RAM. Any suggestions? Thanks in advanceGeorge

So here's the story.. I had FSX installed and it was running OK, not great of course, but tweaked to get 15-20 FPS. Then I had a harddrive crash.Got a new drive and got it up and running again just in time for the release of TileProxy. So, I isntalled that right away, before even trying any default scenery. Now I've played around with TP and wanted to try default scenery with autogen agian. This is where I started getting problems. I get about 10 FPS with no autogen, and 2-5 FPS with any resonable amount of it. Before the crash, I was getting 30+ with no autogen and even at the extremely dense setting I was pulling 12-15. I also notice that things like building textures an…

Greetings folks...Through the magic of Digg, I was directed to yet another Vista vs. XP comparison page. This comparison evaluates the to OS's when it comes to gaming framerates. Not surprisingly, XP tops Vista in framerates across all games tested. They tested with two different video cards and I believe two different driver flavors. Link:http://enthusiast.hardocp.com/article.html...W50aHVzaWFzdA==While this coincides with my own personal observations, the one thing that the comparison can't quantify is the perceived smoothness that Vista brings to the table (texture loading, etc.) Lower FSX framerates + Better texture loading could equal a wash in perceived performance t…

(that I've seen anyway):http://www.vr-zone.com/?i=4946Looks like they have some serious driver issues (really bad AA performance in some games), and even on the benchmarks where it runs "well", it can't beat a 6-month old card from Nvidia. Disappointing, IMHO.
