Hope to get some suggestions for a problem with an Asus P5n-E SLI motherboard and the onboard Nvidia Network Controller.I have a cable connection through Cox Cable.The problem is if I reboot the computer I cannot get on the internet. The network icon in the tray will say unidentfied network limited connectivity, and I cannot get on the network which is a cable connection through Cox Cable. If I power down the computer completely, cold start, stay down a few minutes then I can usually get back on after three or more shutdowns. I am considering replacing my 19" LCD monitor with a 22" wide screen one. Currently I am considering the LG L226, Dell E228 and the HP w2207. I have 2 PC's which share the same monitor and my current one has a button on the front to switch between the analogue and digital inputs. Can anyone confirm whether thse monoitors have the twin inputs so I can continue to share between 2 PC's and how the switch between the input modes works.I think I am leaning towards the HP model, has anyone got one or has any views about it.ThanksPhil

I bought a Asus A8V deluxe a couple of year agoo and have big problems with SATA interface.It started when a Hitachi deskstar SATAI HD failed and needed to be replaced. They offered me a Maxtor SATAII 160 Gb and I then bought another one and connected them to the builtin promise raid controller in a raid 0 setup. Everything worked fine for some weeks. Then the problems started. During boot the system had problems detecting the array and I got a lot of event id 9 and 51 in my logbook. Is there anything like Task Manager for GPU usage that shows gpu and memory usage?Trying to figure out if my fsx scenery settings are too much for the gpu or too little to combat this blurry problem.

I just bought an XBOX 360 controller for windows because my current joystick died on me. I have figured out how to re-program what most of the buttons do but I have not been able to figure out how to assign the cockpit panning function to the D-PAD instead of having to use the right joystick. The problem with using the joystick is that when you change your POV and release the stick you POV snaps back to straight forward. I like to adjust my view of the VC so that I can see the control panel and still work the other controls without having to hold the POV in place.When I use the gamepad in FS9, panning in the VC is by default assigned to the D-PAD and when you pan the PO…

Hi everyone, have been having issues with trackir and fsx/vista - still not working despite numbers of attempts to tweek and reinstall.Have decided to install it on a separate xp boot (same HD)Have deleted everything to do with fsx on my vista boot, but over and over again when I install fsx on the xp boot, it won't allow me to validate it with the 25 digit code. Even more frustrating the fsx install (unvalidated) recognises and enables trackir, so if there' any clues about how I can get over the validation hump I'd be hugely grateful. My problem though, is that I am a complete idiot when it comes to knowing the ins and outs of hardware. Lots of discussion on this in the FSX forum--is there any performance gain in FS9 with a dual-core with this fix? Apparently when you have a dual core AMD you have to download AMD patch first. no changes to the system, drivers, updates, etc... after SP1 i occasionally lose force feedback in mid-flight. there's no consistent trigger, like clicking a button--suddenly it's just gonenot to mention that force feedback is all over the place after SP1, very exaggerated, yanking the stick all over my deskhas anyone else seen this?

Flight sim freezing up" Hi, I have problem of late: After about 4 or 5 minutes of flying, sim freezes up. Have to reboot computer. I notice this mainly when sailing around Male scenery from Lago. If I shut my computer down for the night, just about every morning when I come in, she is running again. For example, I shut the computer down last night about 10:30 PM, and it was running again at 4:00 AM this morning.No, I am sure that nobody else is doing this and I have the time set correctly on the computer.I have all Bios options that I can recognize disabled that might perform this act. I use the on board sound and I cannot get the speaker settings to stay at what I set them at in the "Sounds and Audio Devices Properties" screen. I set them at "desktop stereo speakers" and when I return to the settings screen, they return to "7.1 wide configuration speakers".How can I get the setting to stay at "desktop stereo speakers"? A question I've had for a while is, would upgrading my video card to a 8800GTS 320 or 640mb version do anything for all my games, like FS9, BF2, BF2142, and of course FSX?I have a pcie 6800XT, with 256 mb ram. Hi all,I have a bit of a problem. I'm running FS9(.1) with the no cd patch on aP4, 3GHZ, 2Gigs of RAM and a ATI 1950 512mb DDR2.But that's not it, I'm also running it on dual screens. One 20 inch widescreen, one 17inch normal, both ACER's.Here's the deal : When I alt-enter FS and go to windowed mode, there seems to be no problem at all, but when I use the windows key, or alt-tab, I go out of FS, but in my taskbar there seems to be two FS's running (see screenshot/link). I little background:My wife has a Dell pc from 2003....(about 4 yrs old this month)It has two cd drives- a std CD drive, and a CDRW drive on the bottom. Today when I tried to open the bottom one with the button on the drive it would not open. It made two clicking sounds like it wanted to open but did not. I turned off power and used a paper clip to manually pop it open - took out the CD in it. Turned it back on. Without a CD in it the CDRW drive will open and close no problem.With a CD it will not open - period. Same two clicking sounds then the read light flashes for a few seconds.What gives?
