I have been trying to configure my yoke for use with FS X there is no manual and have tried to e mail CH Products. Anyhow, i have gone thru device manager with no luck since i do not know what i am doing and it did not come up when i booted my computer as a plug and play hardware device. My computer is a Dell 400 XPS Duo Core with an added ATI Radeon video card the rest is the same with exception of a tuner card. Hope someone can help me out with this. thanks all.

hi all,now that FSX supports multicore cpu's i am wondering if i should upgrade to a dual core cpu (i have a 939 socket mainboard so i can't go for a quad core...).i am currently running on an AMD Athlon 64 3500+ cpu and nowadays you can buy an AMD dual core for less than $150 (like an Athlon 64 X2 4400+ Toledo 2.2 GHz), so i wonder if someone else has done a similar upgrade in the past and can tell me how much of a performance increase i could expect. maybe a 5 fps average increase? or less?thank you!my specs are the above cpu, A8N deluxe, 2GB ram, pci-e 7800GT.

Im trying to piece together as much valuable information as possible in order to make the most informed decision about processor selection in system upgrades and/or replacements. From all that I can gather, the Core 2 Duo out benchmarks the Pentium D by considerable levels. However, none of the comparisons that I have read compare the two processors within the realm of FSX post SP1. Even people that have the Quad Core processors are noting negligible gains over Core 2 Duo, save for faster initial loading times. The consensus within the FSX forums seems to suggest CLOCKSPEED, CLOCKSPEED, CLOCKSPEED, with an emphasis on some multicore capability. If that is case, would…

Because I'm backing up my photos on DVD+R's. Are they ok, or should I do something else?I'm starting to really wonder what I should do as far as backing up photos goes. I almost want two copies, one with me, and one somewhere farther away, like my parents house or grandparents house, in case theres a fire or something.I would be heartbroken if I lost all my picsWhat do you guys do for backup photos?

Since I got my new 8800GTS I had nothing but problems. New drivers, old drivers, FS9, FSX - makes no difference. The thing just doesn't tune in. Whatever settings I choose in the driver control panel, it scales back to application-controlled when FS is started.I read before that some people had AA problems. Seems this is common FS problem for the 8800GTS. I also have rough textures in the small window and smooth in full screen. Fine, but the thing is - it often just "jumps out" of AA and everything becomes rough-edged! Both FS9 and FSX.Adding to that, the nVidia support is virtually non-existent. I registered on their support forums and when got my password/keys couldn't …

I have an FS dedicated, offline pc with 2 WDR 10k HDs. FSX resides on one all by itself, and FS9, and the OS, are on the other. I use XP defrag multiple times daily and both HDs defrag almost instantly. My question is---- would I benefit significantly from Ultimate Defrag or O&O Defrag?? Hate to spend the $$ if the results would be negligible.Thanks.Scott

Dear friends, I'm building a new system only for my incoming FSX: Core Duo 6600, 2GB main memory, 24 inch 1920x1200 LCD, etc.Considering the video card, I narrowed it down to NVIDIA 8800 gts 320 mb, or 640 mb.The 320 mb version is considerably (1/3) cheaper. Does it worth the extra money to get the 640 mb version, if I plan to run FSX at 1920x1200, major effects maxed out? Or FSX simply does not address more than 320 mb video memeory? Please help me to decide!

HiIgnore the photo of the airbus on the right hand side and take a look at photo on the left. Now that is what my water looks like in FSX, is that right??? I have seen pictures of the water in FSX and it doesent look like that......my water looks like it did in FS9. Is it a graphic card issue becuase my graphics card is 4 years old and is a Nvidia FX5600 256mb card (with the latest Drivers).....do I need to get a new card to get the full water effects?http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c372/Tull_/water1.jpgApreciate your comments.RegardsPaul EGCC

Hi,I'm thinking on buying the CH yoke first before buying the pedals.Right now I use a Microsoft force feedback 2 joystick that you can twist to use the rudder.I wonder if such a function is present on the CH yoke too (since they have the rudder pedals you can buy seperately). Can I simulate rudder (like the twisting on the joystick) when I only have the yoke? Thanks

In the last couple days I have gotten this error a couple times. It does not happen every time I start FS. It has only happened since I installed ASX and XG but I have no indication that that is the problem.Within 5 seconds of hitting the FSX icon, I get the flash screen and a error message stating:"DirectX diagnostic tool had encounter a problem and needs to close."When you click ok, don't send it tells you that is a fatal error and FSX shuts down.I went in to DXdiag and it mentioned that I had a direct 3d error recently and it asked me if I wanted to skip that step, I said no. When I did the direct 3d test the cube was spinning much faster than I recall - so fast it was…

Hey guys!!I just finished installing my new PC that is a Pentium Dual Core 2.8GHz, 2GB RAM, 256MB ATI PCIe Video card and soundblaster sound card. For some reason when I start using FSX, the display works well but after a couple of minutes, the Video adapter crashes and restarts and it keeps sending me an error that the Video driver failed. Then I wait a couple of minutes more and the problem repeats itself.I haven't been able to fix the issues at all.Any suggestions? I tried updating the drivers but nothing changes.Regards,Teofilo

I've been thinking about getting a soundcard for my old (and reliable...hehehehe) Pentium 4 1.6GHz computer, specially after noticing a FPS difference between engines on and off: 6-7 FPS (average) less with the engines on (using PMDG 737 in FS2004, default LIPZ airport), frames locked at 20. Is this reasoning correct? At this moment I'm using the motherboard's onboard sound. Here I can get a rather cheap soundcard at $18. The detail is that it's a 5.1 sound card, and I'll be using only 2 speakers (home "noise regulations" hehehehehe). Does anybody know how could I set it up (connections, windows setup, FS9 setup) without losing too much? Thanks in advance and best regards f…

HiI have CH yoke coming tomorrow to replace my USB CH Fighterstick as my main control in non-military flight simulators. I also own the USB CH Pro Throttle (similar to the F-16 throttle). Does anyone know if I can continue to use that throttle in FSX along with the yoke (I know the yoke has a throttle but the Pro Throttle is pretty darned good)? I can't see why not but I find the CH drivers can have a bit of a fit if you set things up other than how they like them and I'm not in the mood for yet another driver scrub and install.ThanksAndrew

Hi all,I have a pretty good system and I'm using Flight Simulator X. At the moment I'm using GeForce 7900GS 256MB with the settings 8x, 8x and image setting set to High Quality. All the sliders in FSX are pretty much set to 50% except for the AI traffic that are set to 100%. I don't use any of the default AI traffic since I download and use the AI aircrafts and flightplans that are freeware from www.world-of-ai.com. When I'm in the default B737-800, 2D cockpit and sitting on runway 9R at Heathrow, EGLL, I get the framerates 14-15 fps. I counted the AI aircrafts parked at the airport and it was 128 of them. So, I realize the framerates I'm getting are pretty good. But now …

New 158 drivers are available at Nvidia. I believe they are just for 8800 cards and Vista. Lucky you! Don't see anything new for my WinXP 6800 card.SD PS: I know, wrong forum.

Pentium 4 at 3.2GHz2048MB DDR SDRAM at 400MHz256MB Leadtek A7600 GT TDH Video CardAlso, how does it work keeping FS9 on the system as well as FSX? Is there any problems whatsoever with this? Thanks guys!
