Just purchased a new acer q6600 quad.Seems to have vista hidden somewhere on it as vista installed with no dvd. Nifty I guess.I end up with a c and d drive. I am concerned about compatibility issues with games I have. Is it possible to format c and load my xp version instead without affecting the hidden vista/acer setup.Thanks

After accidently deleting something, I used system restore. It did'nt return the missing item, so I undid the restore. What a calamity. It totally blitzed my fs9. Half the files went AWOL. A pain in the butt, but not the end of the world. However, it also half deleted NHancer. Now the installer only gives me the option to either remove or repair, but won't do either. I've scanned and removed everything to do with NHancer, but still no go. Any Idea's would be more than welcome, 'cos I'm stumped.Russell.

Hey guys,I just upgraded to a Nvidia 8500 GT with DVI support. I have two 19" monitors connected up to the card and can do horizontal expansions now, very cool using a VC!! I will eventually get a MatrolTriphead system but for now my question is, I have an open PC slot for a Nvidia 7XXX series card. I tried installing drivers in the 7XXX series to run that card with the 8500 card but no go. I understand that Vista will not tolerate two different driver sets from two differing series such as the Nvidia 8XXX + 7XXX series on teh same Mobo but I have XP. Info. on the web has lead me to believe that if I can find a unified driver set between the two series, I could indeed run…

A system upgrade is out of the question but I'm thinking a 2nd hand 8xAGP, high end card might be on the cards. Depending on price, I'll go for the best I can get. I can't actually remember where the AGP/PCI GPU's tended to cut off but I was aiming at something considerably better than my Geforce 5900xt. Then I read many posts where people were sledgeing (not without good reason) nVidia's inability to correct the shortcomings of their drivers, applicable to FS in general. AA, where apparently the nVidia cards try to Anti-Alias clouds etc. So, would I be better advised to aim at an ATI card, or do their offerings come with a whole new set of problems? I could'nt care less …

My question is is there any way i can assign functions to the various buttons on my logitech keyboard? For example can i use the volume wheel to move my heading bug, or assign different functions to the different quick access buttons on the keyboard? thanks.

I'll be using a couple of SATA drives I already have plus my EVGA 7950GT-KO until the dust settles (if ever) on DX-10 and Vista and also be using WinXP Pro 32 bit. I have these components on hand: Lian Li PC 65B Case Corsair HX Series CMPSU-620HX 620W Power Supply PLEXTOR PX-810SA/SW-BL DVD/CD drive I am seriously looking at the Gigabyte boards with the P35 chipset but am unsure about getting one that supports DDR-3 as well as DDR-2 as DDR-3 probably won't be affordable for a year or two. Well, rather finally identified it... A few weeks ago I was annoyed to have to ease off on my overclocking which seemed to be all fine apart from strange disk errors at shutdown... For the very first time I have tried overclocking the CPU. I have a AMD 64 3200+ venice CPU. At default it runs at 2 GHz. I first tried a 10% overclock at 2.2 GHz. When running Medieval Total War II its temperature finally reached 70 deg celsius which I found a bit risky but still the computer worked without problems. But I noticed no noticably improvement in performence in any way. I now run the CPU at 2.1 GHz and the temperature can eventually go as high as 67 deg cel at maximun. At the default 2 GHZ the CPU reached 55 deg cel with MTWII and FS9. I havn't tried FS with the CPU overclocked.I find theses temperatures rather high compared to what I expected. My chassi does…

I currently have 2 x 250GB HDDs. My previous WinXP installation on C drive went wheels up, so I installed in on drive D. It all works good now, except the boot.ini file is on drive C and I want to move drive C to another computer. How do I remove the C drive without upsetting my D drive Windows XP installation given that the boot.ini on C: will no longer be present?Gary

My target monitor resolution will be 1600x1024. CPU is Conroe duo 6600. With mid-high effects, which card will give me more frame rates: 8800gts 320mb OR 8600gts 512mb?

Hi All! I recently set up a wireless home network. My desktop is wired toi a new Linksys Wireless G Cable Gateway and my new laptop uses the wireless signal. Since I installed it last night, the laptop has been smoking my downloads at 1400k/b per sec, while my desktop has gone from 500 to under 200. Has anyone seen this problem before? I'm still using the same cable I used to, even after using the one that came with the new router. I'm really frustrated over this. Doesn't make sense to me.Anyone know how to correct this issue?

This is hard to describe but after installing new drivers I still have stereo sound, but when I look around in the Cessna for instance, I do not hear the engine in my left ear when I look right and I do not hear the engine in my right ear when I look left: the sound stays in the middle but it become louder! So when I look straight ahead the sound is a bit softer. So the sound IS stereo, but moving my head around doesn't have the effect it had.I do not know how to remedy this: I tried ALL various settings with my headphone, even speakersettings, everything, but nothing helps...

right now with my AMD64 3700+ overclocked to 2.4ghz 1gb ram nvidia 6600gt overclocked i actually get "reasonable" performance out of FSX until things just go blurry cuz my system gets overloaded. do i really need to buy a new core 2 duo system for 1500bucks or if i just upgrade to 2gb and overclock a bit more to say close to 3ghz..should that keep me from "capping" out given reasonable settings in FSX for my system?thx for help
