Don't misunderstand the question. I have no intention of rinning FS with graphics embedded on the mb. My concern is can an embedded graphics controller cause problems simply by existing on the mb?Even if disabled and a take for granted that's possible?

I'm looking for someone with a large 1920x1080 screen to check out feasibility of Multiple Views on a single monitor/display. The attached screenie is by way of Proof of Concept. Note the triple views, 2D panel and popups open for Throttle,COM & GPS. I would like to hear comments from anyone who might try this on the "big screen".Simply open the views, set for View L/R Fwd and size/drag everything into position. Should be pretty impressive on a 48" HD LCD!(Screenshot is from a 19 CRT and was not bad even there! Hey, no multiple monitors or bezels to fret about! This shot was a quickie to check feasibility and FPS only- but looks good so far.)Alex ReidFS9 default KingA…

Just downloaded and installed the new beta 177.79. I have to say so far so good. I'm running 8XQ AA with override app and 16x AF set to biliniar in fsx. I dont notice any added stutter and seems to be a little smoother overall. I say give it a try.

OK guys, here is a problem that I've wrestled with for quite a while now. I have a Geforce 8800 GTX video card. When using Vista 64, when I start in full screen mode, the video flashes on and off. I can Alt/Enter to windowed mode and then back to full screen, and this usually temporarily corrects the problem. As soon as I do something like use the map and go back into full screen, the problem either repeats itself, or my textures are all jacked up. I have experienced this problem with many different NVIDIA driver versions, including the latest. One thing is certain...the problem is specific to Vista 64. Everything is fine with XP 64. This seems like it must be a problem wi…

No, not an an infection :)If you run a flight sim system with Solid-State Drives (SSDs), I'm interested in your experiences:1) Did you notice great performance gain compared to HDs?2) Do you follow the standard practice of separate drives and/or partitions for OS/FS/SWAP?3) Do you bother with either 3rd party or OS scheduled defrag programs?4) Did you change customize Power Options?5) How would you rate the impact of the SSD compared to a very good Video Card upgrade?6) Would you do it again today or wait 6-12 months?7) Any other insights? ( Let's not discuss price, it's a given )ALL, Feel free to post any additional questions about FS+SSDs- ThanksYour Specs:CPU (cores/…

This changes from week to week, and sometimes day to day- so here goes. I'm having a problem getting my MB to boot- and will call Gigabyte tomorrow- but I'm guessing RMA. I don't want to wait for a replacement and I am looking for a bit more OC than the P35 chipset and my current RAM will allow...........thoughts Sam, Gary et al.Ideally I would see 4.5 or 4.4ghz and I want to go to 4gigs of RAM- PC800 1gig x 2. I am 24/7 Prime95 stable at 4.0ghz now (when the machine boots ;) ). I want to stay with the e8500 for now- and I dont' care about OB sound. My specs below are accurate.I will be deciding (and ordering) in the morning, so please post if you can- thanks!Best-Ca…

I am about to go the route of dual booting both Vista and XP with the intent of running FSX on XP. I currently have Vista installed on my system which I intend to use for everything but FSX.I plan to put FSX on it's own Raptor HD. My question is this:Do I install XP on the same RAID 0 drive with Vista in it's own partition or on to the Raptor with FSX? I'm not sure if there would be a performance advantage having the OS on a different drive than the OS, or if the advantage would lie in having the OS on the Raptor. Of course the XP install will be free of anything that is not required for FSX.Any help is appreciated!

Hello Everyone,This is complicated so please bear with me.....I have decided to take the plunge and enter the world of hd projectors for several purposes with the most important for me being the use of FSX (to feed my addiction;)Unfortunately I have been unable to find any clear explanation/guide on the internet as to how resolution works. At the moment I am running FSX at 1440 X 900 on a small monitor (maximum resolution of the monitor is 1900 X 1200), and very happy with the results. Recently, as a sort of test run, I connected my computer via VGA to my HD tv - a Bravia 720p/1080i model. Whilst I could run windows in an upscaled 1900 x 1200 setting, I was only able to p…

Hello everyone,I'm on a budget and am looking at this rig from Dell. Please note I'm picking a cheap PCI-E Video card in the default system and plan and buy something better later.Any advice on the below specs besides the video card. I'm planning on using this mostly for FSX.I realize this will in no way max the settings. I'm just trying to get decent visuals without making the game lag. Thanks in advance.Dell Inspiron 518Intel Core 2 Quad Processor Q6600 (8MB L2 cache,2.4GHz,1066FSB) -$100 upgrade to Q9300 12MB L2 cache, 2.5GHz, 1333FSB. Is it really worth it?)Genuine Windows Vista

Hello. I would like someone to give me the physical measurement of this unit from clamp to clamp. I am in the process of building a pedestal/ center console for a generic "cockpit" and need this measurement as I plan on adding it later. The specifications show the measurements as 11"x8"x7"; and I am wanting to leave a cutout for the quadrant to mount onto. At present I have the Yoke and rudder pedals.Thank you in advance for your help.Regards,Bill

it is time for me to upgrade my system and the nagging question I have is about the monitor setup. I would like to know if the matrox th2go on 3 19" wide screen monitors looks better and shows more viewing angle then say a single 24 or 26 inch wide screen monitor ( even if zoomed out a bit?) please tell me both the good and bad about your experiences either way or if you are just using two monitors, i would like to know how that has worked out for you as well.also do you have a recommendation on a video card to use with either setup?thank you very much, Kyle

I can't understand why I'm only getting 2 fps using fs.9 in windowed mode while I get 22 to 30 in full screen mode. I have a overclocked 2.4mhz running at 3.1 with an ati 1600 512 graphics card and all my settings are low to mid-range in FS.My Cpu temp is running 51CCore 1 @ 51Core 2 @ 50However, I did notice that my core 1 load is 100% and my core 2 is 0 %. Is this normal as I notice that in FSX, my core 1 runs at 100 and core 2 runs between 50 & 99% some of the time. Why would it run better in full screen mode and not in windowed mode? Why isn't core 2 running at more than 0 % ??Regards, jack

I am considering an economic upgrade from an Athlon XP3200 to an Athlon64 4000. I fly Wilco and PSS planes in and out of detailed airports in FS2004.I have at departure and arrival ~8fps and in flight ~25fps. Would this give a frame rate rise, or would the excercise of mobo/cpu change be disappointing. Thanks for any input.

I need a Cpu cooler...I think....because FS9 keeps crashing back to my opening computer page. I was wandering if anybody knows of a good & EASY cooler to install. I don't have that much experience other than putting in memory cards etc. Should I get a cooler with a fan and if so, where do you hook up the fan to get power to it? Also, I assume the cooler goes on top of the E6600 conroe processor. I'm running my 2.4g at 3.1g overclocked on a P5B-E Asus motherboard with P2-800 memory P2-6400 4 gig's total.Regards, jack

For about 2 weeks now my wife's Dell Dimension 2400 (P4 old school, bought in early 2003) has been making this annoying chirping sound. I thought it was a fan, but I got up close and could not hear anything abnormal from the fans. I think it's either an optical drive or the HDD.We powered it up this morning and some sort of diagnostic screen came up saying something about two of the drives. (Now that I think about it it may have been the optical drives). She has two: a CD-ROM drive and a new DVD burner I installed a while ago (it has worked perfectly) I didn't think much of the message and it kept booting right to Windows XP...Well, I put a CDR in because I wanted to…

I have recently installed Nhancer and I am totally confused after having Read the Manual three times. I have installed the program but can someone very kindly explain in simple words how I get the program to run. I have no idea what a profile is and what I need to do to get this programme to work. Also does it need to be customised for FS9 /FSX or is the FS9 profile setup for Nhancer ready to go.Many thanks and Best Regards,Chris

Hello. I am in need of some very simple help. I just did a major rebuild of my computer. I am using my old DVD and CDRom, and also the 200GB HD. I have a new mobo, CPU, RAM, power supply, case, and video card. I also added a second 80GB HD. This unit will be strictly for Flight Sim. My question, can I boot up as is, even though my HD has been in use prior? Or do I take care of the mobo and BIOS settings first. In advance, thank you for the help. This is my first build, and am trying NOT to screw it up.Regards,Bill
