I'm running a AMD 64 3200+ VENICE S939 with its stock cooler. My mb had a program called PCprobe that reported CPU temperature. With FS9 it reported about 52 deg celsius. I have updated my BIOS so this program won't work. But I found that SiSodt Sandra also reports the temperature. I have also replaced my QTec PSU with a Corsair HX520W and my fanless case with a new case equipped with two 120mm chassi fans. I was expecting a cooler CPU but it's reported as no more than 42 deg celsius in FS9. When I OC my CPU from 2000 MHz to 2200 MHz the temperature only rose one deg celsius. Could there be something wrong with these figures? Could differebt program report different tempe…

Weird colors with fairly new video cardI've only been getting this with BF2, but I do play it for hours at a times. Is this called artifacting? My default fan temps were 28%, but I used riva tuner to turn them up to 50, now I turned them to 75, hopefully that will fix it

The recent artical at Tom's re FSX/SP2 and video cards seems to make the case for 8800GT, esp the 1GB version, with monitor settings at 1900x or below, certainly per dollar spent, if not outright in some situations. What exactly would the additional GDDR3 memory offer, if anything, in FSX? The memory interface is the same of course (8800GT 512 adn 1GB model comparison). You can get teh 1GB version for about $169 now.QX9650 w/ Retail HSF|ASUS P5E3 Premium WiFi|4GB Muskin Ascent 7-6-6-18 1T DDR3-1600|EVGA 8800GT|Seagate SATA 2 x 2|Seagate Cheetah 15K.x|XP Pro SP2|Vista 64--maybe never to be installed

Hi,I started to post this in the cockpit builders forum but this one seems to get a lot more traffic, so...Currently I am using a front projection XGA Sharp LCD projector for my "windscreen" view. I have been toying with eventually going to three projectors for a more panoramic view (using Wideview), but with the prices of rear-projection TVs being what they are, I'm wondering how well those might work instead? (Advantage: less sim-room real estate required, since reasonably-priced XGA projectors have a fairly narrow focusable range, which is about 6'.)As an example, I just found a Hitachi 50" HD-format TV, with HDMI inputs and 1280x720 resolution, for about $950 - about …

I just got an offer letter to upgrade from my v8.6/10 bundle to the new v11 Pro which appeared this week. I would be interested to know if v11 has the same space-defrag issues in Fightsim as v10, or if they fixed it to work as well as v8.5(.6). It looks like a free upgrade to those who purchased a previous version between 7/1/08 & 9/15/08 or at a discounted upgrade price.Nick, can you enlighten us on this latest version?

Hi,Just curious, but can anyone tell me how long this card is compared to an X1950 Pro 512MB? I've done some research, but none of the reviews I've read quote the actual physical length of the card. Would have thought this would be quite important to know along with the card's power requirements/consumption.I have an Antec P150 case which I continue to be very happy with and it accomodates the X1950 Pro (which I am also very happy with) quite comfortably.I suspect if I was in the market for a 4870 it might prove to be just too long and will likely foul the drive bays.Mike
