Is there anything I need to know about using the aircraft.cfg for one aircraft and using it for another similar aircraft?For instance, I love the way my SMS MD-11 flies and would like to incooperate the same flight characteristics for my SEGA DC-10's since they are simliar type aircraft. Do you have to change both the aircraft.cfg AND the .air file? Any info appreciated.

I know Eric Cantu set the EMB-120 with alias in several ways to the default Kingair 350. This includes air file, etc, but one thing I wish could be fixed is the side views. Any view to the side puts you looking square into the side of an engine nacelle. Thats accurate for a Kingair, which has the engines well forward and the props actually in front of the cockpit. NOT accurate for a EMB-120 though, whose wing and engines are well aft of the cockpit. Im not real sure how to do this myself, though Im sure it has to do with the aircraft.cfg and the views section.Could somebody post a fix for this?ThanksEric

Question about the SGA DC-10-- No matter what I do, I don't seem to be able to get off the ground in less than about 9000+ feet or so.I've tried several flap settings, slats, 5, 15 22.. etc.. different trim settings, etc., Different Vr speeds. Not sure what I am doing wrong.An approximate example--- Flaps 22, trim at 7 degrees.. it takes 26 seconds to reach 100kts, 33 seconds to reach 120 kts. etc., rotating in the mid 130's, for instance-- the main gear will not leave the ground until about 170 kts..and maybe 45 seconds...I know I am not being accurate here. but just one example of many--it never leaves the ground sooner than about 9000 ft of RWY and 170 kts..If you want…

Had a minor problem with FS9 and reinstalled. Now Edit Voice Pack 3.1 won't update. The bar gets about half way and an error box says an existing file cannot be updated, so it exits. Worse, FS9 is back to the default list and very S L O W talking controllers. I tried to uninstall EVP, then reinstall. No joy. I also can't open EVP's site.Can anyone help, or advise what I should or should not be doing?Thanks in advance.Bob

Is there any program that can I can use to easily change the shape of an aircrafts fuselage to a rounder shape? I don't know computer language and have never designed an aircraft or even repainted one before, is there a really steep learning curve for what I am trying to do?

In FS9, when you fly a third-party aircraft with its own FMC, how do you sync it (for lack of better words) with the FS9 ATC so that you can get proper landing clearances?I've had occasions when other traffic ran right into my path when coming into landing -- and at one point in Heathrow, I was denied landing clearance due to IFR conditions. "Landing clearance denied airport is in IFR".On another occasion, I landed at OMDB, and right as I was touching down, another traffic AC taxied onto the runway and I had a crash :(Thanks, and welcome to 2007!

Hi,I have a BFG NVidia 7600 256MB card through vga. Anyone have suggestions for card settings for the things in the control panel of the card. Right now everything, pretty much in 2004 is cranked to the right, and I'm getting between 30-65 fps. The graphics are great, but I'm looking for what people out there use in their video cards to keep good fps and high detail and graphics.

I see there is a popular file in the library called RealityPack 1.2 (textures)by Sascha Rieger and it has something like 62 thousand downloads. Surprisingly I don't recall ever seeing any posts about it and wouldn't mind hearing some opinions. Actually I searched the FS9 forum and found only one post with the file name in the title and that post was negative with a number of following posts in non agreement.I note that one of the items contained in the file was FS9 cliffs and that is something that does have a lot of room for improvement.Any comments? Also curious if there are some specific textures in the file are must have versus installing it all.

Is there a tutorial for operating this? I have the manual, but my head/eyes gloss over reading it! I have used PMDG's 737, so I am somewhat familiar with FMC's.I think a sample flight plan set up for ifly's FMC would be perfect, walking you thru the steps to program the flight.Thanks for any help.

Hello all,following on some recent threads I got back into flying Nepal and India and Kashmir. My Nepal is good; I added a lot of airlines. India not so good. I added AIX, Air Deccan, Spice & IA (all hand made). That's OK. But my Indian Do228 traffic has yet to show (I have yet to see one of these AC in flight or on the ground). Is there something funny with this file, or are the flights so lightly distributed I haven't seen one yet? I downloaded some more India Afcads, but I still don't have one for VIDN or others. Anyone have any resources to share? FWIW: memories; Calcutta to Bagdogra on a DC-3 in 1971! Then bus up to Siliguri & Darj. Great stuff.Cheer…

anybody got a set of revised contact points for the landing gear on Eric Cantu's great Embraer 120? The nose gear is slightly off contact with the ground, which means that if you slew the airplane, it takes off like a bat outa ####. (FS9 thinks its airborne.)Just needs a tweak or two, but Im not so good at that stuff.Happy new year.Eric

I wonder if anyone can help with a problem. I fly from Phoenix AZ with a lot of AI traffic running, I run AISmooth to help with the flow and I have a heavily modifed AFCAD file for the airport but have not touched the taxi ways.When an AI aircraft comes into land or is taxing it sometimes stops in it's tracks and will not move. This leads to traffic backing up behind it and everything coming to a halt. This happens only with traffic that has landed and doesn't happen to every aircraft. After a while 10-20 minutes the aircraft simply vanishes, but anything behind it stays put.Any ideas anyone.Steven Schofield

Hi AllI gave FSX another go, applied all the tweaks, but I honestly like FS9 better, with Actice Sky 6, voz australian scenery and ultimate traffic things run very smooth. FSX would grind to a halt with those applications running. Dont know what the rest of the world looks like in FSX but australia looks ordinary and I am less than impressed with the underpowerd piston aircraft that seen not capapble of maintaning 8000 feet even at full throttle and correctly leaned. There are many that swear FSX looks better but I cant agree, maybe it looks better on a new system i dont know but I am enjoying FS9 maxed out far better than FSX and imagine it will be this way for some time…

Hi, For some reason I am unable to see the airports using Afcad2.21. It finds the airport but does not show it any longer. This occurs in both fs9 and fsx. Anyone know what's missing? rnails

Several times recently I have tried to start FS9 but have only got the splash screen and then nothing, straight back to the desk top. It will have been running fine previously and I will have made no changes. Fortunately by doing a system restore I am always able to get back to normal. Another problem is that occasionally the computer spontaneously reboots, but this is always when the computer is idle.Has anybody had similar problems or have any suggestions?I've tried a few things, using Asus Probe to monitor temperature etc, I've run memtest, pagefile is set to system managed.
