I was headed for MYNN from KABE via KATL. I actually wound up hopping in the Freeware Falcon 50 rather than the Eaglesoft Citation X I just got a few days ago. What can I say, I love the Falcon- a much prettier bird IMO to start with (meaning the looks of the real world planes).A few more hours of flying when I get a chance and I can check out Freeflow's Bahamas scenery- another very merry Christmas gift.Rob Young did a good job IMO on the flight dynamics of the Falcon; a plane built in response to the oil shortages of the 70's. Hi all.I have developed a problem with my Flight Simulator 2004's graphics.(Please see attached screen shot.)The graphics in the in the distance in Flight Simulator is very blurry and no longer holds much detail. This problem is really annoying me, as I can no longer fly to those beautiful places on Flight Simulator (As the no longer look beautiful) and I have a high end system.These really blurry graphics appear really suddenly last week, with no warning and since then they have not disappeared. I'm just wondering if anyone out there might be able to shed some light on a problem I've been having with my Microsoft Force Feedback 2 joystick.When using it in FS2004 it no longer will 'return to center'. I remember (probably two years ago, or so) doing something to disable it but I can't for the life of me remember what I did. When I go to the Control Panel and select it from Game Controllers, there is supposed to be (I think) an option for return to center. But not so on mine. Seems I remember having some kind of Sidewinder software installed but I no longer have that either. I thought of reinstalling the drivers for it but I can't seem to find a driver for it f…

Hello All!How important to the overall experience would you say Active Sky is? I've been thinking about getting it, but I always decide not to because I end up thinking that improving the weather really won't enhance things greatly. Should I reconsider? I think it must be in my destiny to own the program, because just the other day I was flying from Miami to Tampa on VATSIM, and another pilot sent me a private message and just asked, sort of "out of the blue" (pun intended) if I was using Active Sky (and I happened to be thinking about it at the time!). I just wanted to get some other opinions about it before I decide to take the plunge! Thanks!Paul

I recently had to reinstall FS9. I had the add ons for the Vulcan, Tornado and Hercules working fine. Since reinstalling FS9 I cannot seem to reinstall the add ons or even fully uninstall them. The All Programs option in XP has them as entries but marked EMPTY. The uninstall facility through Control Panel seems to crash. When putting in the relevant disc a full install is not an option.Is there a way I can manually delete some files and then reinstall?Thanks

Hi all,I am making more and more long distance flights these days in my Lear 35 and 45 and have noticed a very unconvincing and annoying problem with the updated weather. It changes very abrubtly and knocks my plane sideways, and sometimes overspeeds to almost 400 knots. I have to apply my spoilers and hope it doesn't cause an overstress again. That upsets me to be an hour into the flight just to reset the flight. This happens even at 35000'. I hope this isn't realistic as I will never fly again.I have toyed with the sliders, turned off the winds aloft download, etc. What settings are you folks using for best results? Hey guys I have FSX and I can't up grade to a new system probly until FS11 comes out. I have FS9 and wonder what up grades to make my airports look pics that I have seen with all the other craft and parking and striping and things like that. I wonder why others airports look like FSX or better and all the differnt aircraft like AA, US Airways and all those come from. What about FS Scenery its good and active sky.I have a P4HT 3.2 Ghz, 1 MB DDR, NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GTX 256mb card, ZS2 SB audio. Powerfull comp but not for FSX.

I have FE, GE Pro installed and FS Global (USA only) when i look out my side windows or use VC with TrackIR the ground textures dont load fast enough.It creates large pauses in flight whilst these purple tiles load in to the textures.My specP4 3gig HT Prescott2gig 3200 Giel DDR6800GTI dont run FS9 on max settings, just wondered if there is any tweaks i can do to load all the textures ? I would expect 2gig of RAM to be enough.Thanks, Dave.

I've recently turned off AA in fs & turned it (& AF) on in my nVidia 6800, running at the native screen resolution of 1680x1050. The selection window is now black but when I drop the resolution down a notch, the selection window appears with the selected aircraft!!I was wondering if anyone knew how I could get the window with aircraft in it back? Oh - not turning the resolution down!!Thanks.

Strange, never had this problem before, but seems no matter which aircraft I use when I set the parking brake it lasts for a few seconds then shuts off. I tryed to just rebuild the fs9.cfg thinking that some default setting got accidentally changed and that appeared to do the trick but now it's doing it all over again. I recently loaded the CIVA INS into several panels which requires the parking brake set before initializing .Obviously cannot get to work properly because of this condition. Any ideas as to the cause?ThanksEdit: could this be caused by a FSIUPC setting? I recently loaded up the latest version(registered)

Hi, I was wondering if my FS Genesis North America mesh for FSX will work with FS2004? I am really missing my 727s, 737s, 747, 757s, 767, and 777, as well as my ATR72, my Saab 340, and my king air, oh and my EMB145, I think that's it, anyway, I wiped FS2004 off my HD which I shouldn't have, now tonight I'm putting it back on so I can fly those.Thanks,Jeff

Hello.Does anyone know where I can find a utility that will look at a particular panel and copy all gauge files necessary to another location?I used to have one but don't anymore and I can't seem to find one in the library. All I can find are utilities for deleting unused gauge files.Any help would be appreciated.Thanks!

Good afternoon everyone and merry christmas from downunder here in Melbourne. I have just discovered recently what I have missed in flightsim 9. There is this great guy calle Dave Maltby who makes freeware and accurate FS9 Classic british planes. I was wondering on the other side of the Atlantic are there any freeware developers like him who do accurate classic American made planes like the B737-100/200s? What I mean by accurate is things like a good and clickabloe VC, etc.Have been flying the BAE 1-11 made by him non stop for the past 2 days. Can anyone tell me which program supplies the grass textures around the default airports. Obviously I have FS9, with Ground Enviroment, UT-USA, AE7. Before I got GE Pro, I had the FS Scene textures and used them with a program form the Avsim library. I was very happy with the way everything looked. Now with GE Pro, etc., I am very happy with the way everything looks except with the default airport proper textures. The grass is a "hodge-podge" of greens, browns, tans, and grays, and resembles nothing like the rest of the world.I'm not sure if one of my add-ons changed, or controls these textures, but would like to keep all my add-ons and get the airport grass textures to l…

I wonder how many other folks are experiencing a phenomenon I've noticed these last few weeks:I just built a fast new PC to replace a 3-4 year old 3 GHz Pentium IV as my primary simming platform. It's a Core 2 Duo machine, and FS9 has really sprung to life using it. And here's the interesting piece...so have a number of previously sidelined add-ons that were such dogs on the old system it wasn't worth keeping them around.Example - Simflyers KDFW scenery. Never saw frames above about 10 fps on the old system there, and during approach/taxi, it was a 6-8 fps slide show. Hello!I recently upgraded my computer and I hoped this would let me use FS9 with good graphic and FPS, but so far that haven't been the case.My system:MSI P965 MotherboardIntel E6600 CPU1 GB RAMRadeon X1950 Pro 512 MBAlthough this system is better than my previous one, it isnt't performing like I was hoping for. Hello,Alright, I know that this has been discussed before, but I've been reading different posts, and I can't find the answer anywhere (unless I missed it). I understand Flaps at 20 degrees (depending on your plane) for Takeoff, Flaps at full for landing. So when or why would you use Flaps at 10 degrees? Hi All, I've been reading another post and it prompted me to post this:There are several models of the venerable Spitfire out there for FS9 - payware models include; RealAir, JustFlight & Plane design to name but a few. With, naturally many freeware models. I have great admiration for the whole Spitfire story and find the RealAir model fantastic but I've not tried the other payware ones.
