I've vanished from the FS scene for several years, now my close friend wants to take up flightsim seriously and I'm thinking about educating him with what I used to have learnt throughout those years. In particular, I'm looking for airplanes (preferably GA), addons, programs that would enable me to share cockpit with my friend via the internet. Both of us should be able to take control of the airplane anytime and experience the movement of the instruments at resonable rates. By the way, is there such programs still made for FS2002? or FS2004? Your help is appreciated.

I was flying the do-27 by digital aviation today, for those who dont know, it has a unique cockpit shaking function where in the vc i guess the pilot viewpoint shakes to simulate vibration with engine rpm changes over speeds etc. So whenever this shaking occurs it kind of twitches wildly, or flickers around when using trackir4. Im guessing this is because it is interfering with trackir using the pilots head as the viewpoint, is there any way to workaround this?

Hi,since I changed computers (now using a Dell Latitude D820 with dual processors) the textures in fs9 give problems. Looking around from the cockpit, on various places there is water where there should be land and vice versa. It looks like the refresh rate is dramatically low (if you 'don't move' eventually the correct texture will load) so flying is no more fun. I tried a fresh reinstall of fs9 but the problem remains. Fortunately fsx is running correct but I would like to fly my fs9-aircraft as well. Does somebody have any suggestions how to tackle this problem?Regards,Huub

Hi, I'm flying the Eurowings BaE Avro and it works fine on the ground but once i take off i can stay in 2d panel view for as long as i like, but once i switch to spot plane view whilst I'm up in the air, i hear a very loud and high piched beeping noise and my computer locks up completely, forcing me to manually reboot it...Anyone know about any solutionsThanksTruls S. Hi I am new,My name is William I am 24 from Paris, France. I am also Canadian. I recently received a brand new laptop, Toshiba Satellite A-100 with a T5600 Core 2 Duo processor, 2 GB of DDR2 RAM at 533 MHz, 160 GB of HD and a Geforce GO 7600 with 128 MB of dedicated RAM.I was so excited I installed FS X right away... With all the slides maxed out I wasn't above 4.2 images/sec... I must say I was quite disappointed, I didn't try any other configuration within the sim but I don't know that I could get improvements???So then I installed FS 9 and everything maxed out I get minimum 16 fps with an average of 24-28... While flying into New York, I noticed something missing.....the Statue of Liberty. Ellis Island is there, but no statue. I suppose a texture file or bgl is missing, but which one? Any ideas?

Back in the 1980s I flew on Caledonian Tristars several times from Gatwick to Alicante on our family holidays. These were the first aircraft I can remember flying on and the Tristar has become my favourite airliner. As luck would have it I have been given the opportunity to make a rather long journey on what I believe are the last Tristars left in service. Two weeks from today I'll be flying to the Falklands on an RAF Tristar. I wanted to try this flight in FS9. Hello all,This was probably asked before, but I would just like to ask a fewpretty fundamental questions.All the questions generally pertain to the 747-400, which I like to flymost often.First of all, regarding climb rate. Generally I set my autopilot to aclimb rate of 1800 fpm initially, and then reduce to 1500 fpm when Istart losing airspeed. However, in a few locations on the web I foundarticles describing climbing at up to 4000 fpm on some models of theengines. 4000 is of course too much, but what is the best initial climbrate for the B744? Is 1800 fpm unnecessarily low? It does seem to havemuch more power initially, and I often exceed the 250 kt limit when myautopilo…

I purchased the Scout package from RealAirSimulations and had it installed on my system, and everything worked fine. Last week, I installed MSXP, which caused a few problems, which were solved. My problem is I need to reinstall it again, but I forgot my password. I've sent sent several requests to have a new password sent, but I didn't get any reply from RealAir since yesterday morning. I have not seen a copy of FS2004 on sale for about 12 months. That is until today. There it was right next to the FSX standard and delux versions in a retail store which I visit regularly. Only FSX was on display prior to Christmas. Interesting!

Hi there, for about 6 months now I have had nothing but problems with FS9 and frame rates. No matter how much I turn down the scenery settings my fps stays at about 6. I didnt have this problem b4 and had big airports like heathrow pro and ultimate traffic, but now my pc has gone downhill.I was wandering if it might be something to do with the amount of different modules that I have as there seems to be alot of them.Can anyone advise me or tell me what modules should definately be there?Kind RegardsGavin Moss

Gentlemen, I am in trouble. I have 2 Hard Drives... I have my whole flight sim plus about $600.00 dollars worth of add-on's on my raptor 70 gig drive with the OS on it... It seems I have somehow gotten some of my windows file's corrupt from something. I have a 250 gig Western Digital drive also I just bought before this (whew)... I have tried to do a recover and repair of my Win Xp and neither is working it is going to force me to re-install (advanced set-up or to that effect.) I see the #1 pick in most everyone's list is Active Sky V6.5. I am still using AS4.5 and keep saying that I am 100%, not 98% satisfied with my weather in FS2004. I did buy and install AS6.o but to me, it had too many choice's and decisions to make about the weather so I uninstalled it and went back to using AS 4.5. All of you could NOT be wrong as, at one time you were probably running AS4.5 and now you have updated to vr 6.5. Like you, I'm always looking to improved my Fs2004. What, in your opinion, have I missed in NOT upgrading (and using) AS6.5. Thanks, jerry

After spending quite sometime setting up my PMDG 744 for a flight EDDF to VTBS, I was rather annoyed just after starting to taxi when FS ATC told me to stop and give way for an A340 (which of course I did)- only to have the A340 taxi straight into me. OK, I could've turned off the 'allow crashes' function - but, does AISmooth prevent this sort of thing?Thanks for any replies/sympathy :-)

I need help to reset my FMC. He does not know where he is when I put the plane on any location. His last position is always N4715,5 E 011210. Any airport location is listed below the present position. On page 2 I have the right position with NDB, Vors and so on. So I cannot program the airports. Anybody has ever heard of such a thing ? :-zhelp

Hello fellow simmers,lately I've been experiencing very strange behaviour simming in windowed mode. When the cursor is over a click spot (i.e. it changes into a hand) part of the panel disappears revealing another panel underneath ! This other panel reflects a situation earlier in the flight. This only occurs in windowed and 2-D mode. It also occurs with sll my add-ons, PMDG 737 and 747, Embraer Legacy. I tried reinstalling fs9 but no luck.I hope someone out there has a suggestion.

Hello to all Flight Sim operators. I am having a problem with FS9 I haven't had before, and was wondering if someone could help. When I start Flight Simulator, I get an error saying, "Aircraft initialization failure Cessna 182R RG Paint 7". I've removed the file, and re-installed original C-182RG file, thinking maybe I fouled up on one of my texture installations, but that didn't help either. I'm hoping someone out there has had the same problem, and can help, Please.Pilotman58
