Hi AllAfter inserting the desired temperature in the reduced thurst page of the FMC I have noticed that the temperature value disappears when I select the required reduced thurst from the 3 options underneath.Could somebody please tell me is this normal-because if I re-enterthe value again,a different value for the reduce thurst is given.I have atached 3 images of the FMC to show this.Qas

Hi all FS9nersDo you have or do you prepare a nice and simple CYVR scenery. THose available in AVSIM library, especially the last one is very hard on frames and does not suit my tastes. There are plenty of good designers (those who have done CYYJ, CYEG, CYYC for instance) with EZ-Scenery or Rwy12.THose would not be tempted to make a light CYVR good AFCAD?The problem is that the default FS9 terminal is very far out and fitting jetways like one has done is too far from the min requirement.Any ideas?I use this opportunity to Thank all the designers who contribute to the FS9 world by letting us use freely their work.G. I just completed a nice long flight but unfortunately, had no ATC to land. About three fourths of the way to my landing, my wife calls me to supper. We have probably all been there at one time or another, so I paused the sim and took my dinner break. When I returned about two hours later, I resumed the flight with no problem right where I left off, but after sometime, I noticed ATC hadn't called me in a while. Since I was getting close to the point I should decend, I checked my ATC dialog screen and it read to "enable flight following" and 'create an IFR flight plan" as the choices, thus proving that ATC had abandoned me. Is there any way to get ATC to pick up my fl…

I have decided to stay with FS9 for the time being. After 3 years, I finally have a computer to run this program correctly and don't want to play chase-the-hardware game anymore.I have not purchased airport scenery since the days of simflyers. Back then, symflyers used to bring computers to their knees, so eventually took it off of my HD. I see that they have gone out of business. My question is, how has add-on airport scenery evolved since the days of symflyers? Are there good ones out there that don't degrade performance to a considerable degree? Which addon sceneries do you guys recommend for FS9?Thanks in advance!RHAthlon64 FX572Gb of Crucial 2-3-3-6 3200 high pe…

I have been running Adobe AI traffic for some time now. It provides excellent models and has minimal impact on my modest rig.Recently, I have noticed a number of AI aircraft which are obviously not part of the Adobe installation. Skinny wheels pentagonal engines etc.Is there any way I can identify which bgl file is producing these awful aircraft?I tried looking for bgl files in add-on scenery folders, but I just cannot determine where the problem aircraft are being created. Many thanks for any help.

Which one first, the Cheyene or the B200? I heard the GPS on the Cheyene was buggy; if the B200 uses the default that would be a plus. Has the Cheyene's GPS been fixed yet? I see Aeroworx is on top of updates. These aircraft are in such a similar class I can only justify getting one right now, but which one?Best Regards, Donny :-waveFLYing? It's cool. Trillions of birds and insects can't be wrong.

The panel in question is in Mike Stone's Scottish Aviation Pioneer. I want to add a clickable icon & was advised to add the following at the last of the gauge entries under [Windows00] - SimIcons!GPS Icon, 180,540,90 The icon I want does not appear & I would appreciate knowing if I have done the right thing or not? Thanks,TerryW.Apologies if this is in the wrong place/forum.

Hi everyone. I've been coming to these forums for a little while but I just registered and this is my first post. I have a question about the default 737 in FS9. I'm trying to learn how to fly this thing and I don't have a problem taking off and cruising. Landing is another story though. It seems to me that this plane seems to want to approach the runway with its nosed pitched too high. I always have to press the Shift+Enter buttons a couple of times to raise the seat in order to see the runway. Is this normal? Am I doing something wrong? I've owned FS9 for about a year now and learned how to fly the other smaller planes quite well and they never seemed to do this. Thanks…

I've googled and looked all over. Anyone know if there's a FS2004 / FSX download of this plane? If so, please post here! Thanks!

Hi everyone. I hope someone can help me out with this. I'am currently learning the "descents and energy management" part of the ATP lessons. The problem is every time I touch down on the runway I'm told "since you've crashed I'm ending the lesson" or some jazz like that in red letters. No matter how well I fly the approach I'm always told that I crashed. I'm always on the G/S, LOC, and my speed is perfect. Doesn't matter how gently I set her down Its always the same thing. Can anyone tell me what I might be doing wrong? Anyone else have this problem? Thanks for any replies.

I lost my Fs2004 original install of FSM.I just downloaded it again from Avsim (fsm285.zip).However, after I install it, and then try to run it, I get an error that "I am trying to run an old version of FSM, please go to www.ranainside,com to get the latest version". Well, there no longer is a website by that name. It seems to me that there was a fix for this problem, but I sure cannot remember what it was. Does anyone know?

Hey fellow aviators. Not sure how far back you can set up Active Sky or other WX.But today, Jan 17th, On our flight from PHX-ABQ. Southwest 1337.We were in A/C N691WN(737-300), filed for FL370 for the leg.We ended up leveling off at FL330 due to bad ride above and some great tailwinds. Unfortunately, it was short lived, as the ride deteriorated at FL330 as well. But, while we were cruising at FL330, .76 Mach....our groundspeed was 629kts! That's fairly smokin for an ole -300. :-) I've seen that speed a few times in the -700, this was my second in the -300.We pushed at 1619(1 min earlier than sched.) and arrived Gate A8 ABQ at 1711. All times CST. Gave us a 52 min block ti…

Hi. I installed the Heathrow scenery by William Morgan / FRF Studio, egll.zip, from the AVSIM library, plus the suggested buildings work files. As expected, my frame rates are now very low there, even with traffic turned very low, or off. Landing after a long flight and then trying to taxi to the strand are depressing experiences: you just can't control an aircraft at 5 fps.The ReadMe file suggests, logically enough, deleting some of the bgl scenery files to improve frame rates: I just wondered, to save me hours of trial and error, whether anyone has done this already and found a way to improve the frame rates at the airport whilst not disabling too much of the visible ai…

Just got an email stating the CS Space Shuttle is currently on sale. I guess these FSX only titles aren't moving allot of units. Even after the FS9 version became available the product still had to go on sale. I guess in FS9 there's no real need for a space shuttle as you can't go into space anyway. Concerning FSX maybe the incentive diminishes when your facing a slide show upon approach...

Has anyone ran into anything like this?Running XP/Sp2. Bought a SATA drive, formatted as F:, installed FSX on F:Existing FS9 install is in the default path on c: (11/16/2005)First launch of FS9 after having installed FSX saw a total reread of my scenery (took about 3 minutes) and lost my ActiveCamera registration (re-registered with same purchased key).I have three separate "MY Flightsim files." folders in My Docs (FS9, FSX Demo and FSX).Just curious. It appears everything is there.Thanks.Jim Donlin

I love flying the Super Cub when I feel like just dawdling around enjoying the scenery or bush flying with the floats or skis but I notice the elevator trim has very wide increments. In other words it's overly effective and adds or subtracts too much trim per input.I assume there is something I can adjust in the aircraft.cfg that will desensitize it somewhat but I don't know what that might be in the config file. I see there is this ....(elevator_trim_effectiveness =2.002) that is likely the culprit. Could anyone advise me just how I might accomplish desensitizing that trim setting without getting into trouble or is it just a matter of increasing or decreasing the sett…

I posted this in response to another post over on flightsim and though many here could make use of the info too.For those wishing to move FS9 to a new HD installed in addition to your current one:Copy your entire flightsimulator installation over to the new drive.Go to Start/Run and type in regedit.Click find and in the find field, enter the path to your fs9 installation (most have theirs in Program files). Mine was C:CDGamesFlightSim. BTW, F3 in regedit is the Find Next command.Change every instance to point to your new path (D:FS9, etc.). There are tons of entires, but if you do it this way, FS9 will be registered in the new drive/path and any utilities, sceneries, airc…

I posted this over at the Dreamwings forum, but it's a little quiet.. so, if it's ok I'll ask here..I installed the Dreamwings Dash 8 --100. 200. 400The 100 and 200 bounce when sitting on the runway and during the take-off run-- the front gear bounces anywhere from a little to the entire plane bouncing/pivoting around the main gear like a seesaw on speed. :>)Does anyone have a suggestion as to what might be the problem? The Q400 is fine. Thanks

Hello, I am a FS9 flyer for years now, but I recently discoverd a FS9 feature: IFR approaches.:-hmmm When I was flying to Heathrow (EGLL) the ATC gave me multiple options for the 27R approach (eg. LAM, BIG, BNN, EPM) Happy as I was, I then started to try this at other airports such as Schiphol (EHAM), Standsted (EGSS), Paris CDG (LFPG) but this time NO list of approaches available... (strange? The GPS gave multiple available approaches for many runways, just as EGLL)Does anyone know what's behind this? I'd really like to know... btw, I considered the wind direction/runway.(otherwise I'll get back te my PMDG 737/747 and use SID's and STAR's again or perhaps I'll get Radar …

I have tried and tried and tried to follow the instructions in FSDS v224 and v3 on this exercise. Why is it SO HARD to make the flaps look and work correctly? The more I try, the worse it gets.Using the Animation, IF I do get the flaps to move-they move lop sided; not up and down.Nowhere in the instructions do you find how to correct this. Or what causes it. It's like I am supposed to know this already.Where can a person go that has NO experience in CAD or desiging and find step by step instructions THAT WORK?For days now, I have put in 6-8 hours and have accomplished nothing.Getting burned out quickly.Any Help For A Rookie,Thank You

I start up AI Smooth before every flight, by habit now, at least if I am flying between busy airports. But I am beginning to realise that it is doing nothing at all. I get just as many aircraft in front of me now as I did before I installed it. How many times in the real world are planes told to 'go around'? (Genuine question - is it a rare thing or does it happen on a daily basis?).I'd be very grateful if anyone who has AIS installed and thinks it is working for them to post their settings. I've been tweaking mine for a several months now, and am coming to the conclusion that I might as well uninstall the programme.I'll try AI separation too - though I didn't like it all…
