Whenever I fly the PMDG 737-700, it seems my flights are anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes faster than the real-world flight. For example, when I fly KBNA Nashville to KPHL Philadelphia, it takes exactly 90 minutes from takeoff to touchdown. The real-world flights between these cities are 1 hour 45mins, to over 2 hours according to Flightaware and other ticket sites for various aircraft including the 737, CRJ and MD-80. I realize some of these are gate to gate times, but still, that shouldn't be anymore than 20 minutes or so. In addition, my FMC wants to cruise at M .80. I slow her down to .75 which I figure is about average, and slow down on approach. I still only take 90 o…

Hi allI hope somebody can help with this. My FS is smooth enough throughout all phases of flight - except when ATC issues approach insctrutions during IFR flights. Then it stutters, sometimes so badly that it would be impossible to fly the aircraft if it were not on autopilot. Usually immediately after instructions are received the stutter goes away but sometimes it lasts between 30 seconds & a minute afterwards. Then all is smooth again for the remainder of the flight.I've tried all I can think of, including DX sound settings to basic, but nothing works. Anyone have ANY ideas? Thanks

Greetings all,I spent a lot of time recently altering the default view in the VC of some of my add-on aircraft. What I do not understand is how it is possible for the aircraft to be modeled properly, yet I can not get the viewpoint right. For example, in a Cessna 172 I can see over the panel about 1.5 feet back from the spinner, and I can also see both wingtips looking out either side of the aircraft. But when trying to get this position in FS9, I can not have both, only one or the other. If I move up high enough to see the nose of the aircraft, I am above the window. If I move low enough to see the wingtips, I am too low on the panel. How is this so? The aircraft I am wo…

I seem to have lost the landing light reflection effect on one side of a number of aircraft, including all my Posky V4 747's (you know, the illuminated area on the fuselage when the landing lights are on). I just reinstalled the effects but this effect is still missing, yet it works on the right side. Any ideas?

Is there a quick way to determine if there are any land airports in the U.S. - whose elevation is below Sea Level?I am wanting to run some experiments on a below sea level airport and thought there must be a resource somewhere which would provide a list.I know I can use one from The Netherlands, but was wanting one or more here in the U.S.Thanks in advance.

I know, there are about a million threads on this forum about random lock ups. I've read many. I've tried most of the ideas posted in them, with varying success. Here are my specs:AMD Athalon 64 X2 Dual Core 5200+ECS Nforce6M-A Mainboard2 GBs RAM (2 1 G sticks that match)ATI X1900GT Video Card w/ 256 Ram (I think)(Sapphire brand)Windows XP Home with all needed updates and SPs applied (including the /3GB switch, which doesn't seem to matter to my system)FS9.1 with all patches and updates, and will all settings pretty much maxed outMy Problem:I have random lockups where FS9 freezes solid almost every flight. There seems to be no rhyme or reason for it. There's no warning…

  11. As I knew would happen, I caved and got Kai Tak two days ago and wow, it is just sensational. It works with Ultimate Traffic flawlessly too. It's worth getting just for that. I spent an hour watching traffic arrive and depart and the aircraft make that 50 degree turn to the right before the checkerboard and then land. It is simply amazing. My Triplehead setup makes it all the more fantastic to watch. When you've had enough of traffic, wait till 8 pm and watch fireworks of every color light up all around the harbour, being fired off the roofs of well modelled skyscrapers in places! It is simply amazing!Hats off to FLY TAMPA. They do great work.JS

  13. In real life, will turbulence or a lightening strike do this to a plane in FS9? I've been struggling with this unexpected failure for months now:The airspeed indicator goes to zero, I can still control the throttle, ailerons, etc, my altimeters still seem to work, start to roll right and go into a "Dive of Death" from which the plane seems to recover somewhere around 6000 feet or so. If I can keep her from diving for 60 - 120 seconds the a/s indicator snaps right back and she recovers. Last night it happened in POSKYs CRJ200 using the default Lear panel, but it's happened in almost all of my planes (Mostly Overlands) and it's now happening in at least 50% of my flights…

Hi everybody!I just did a fresh install of my Vista x64. Also installed FSX which works like a charm. Problem begun when I installed FS9 and tried setup multi monitor configuration. Unfortunately there was no solution. I really don

good afternoon everybody, since I'm in "asking-mode" after a nasty OOM this morning, here's another one. After reading through various posts about the OOM problem, I downloaded the FlightsimManager and found with the diagnostic tools that I have 24 landclass files. See included file....Is there anybody who has experienced any OOM's that could be traced back to one of the files in the log...?You'll notice that a lot of those files are from payware scenery addon's. I guess those files are ok and that they are not misplaced but who knows? All help welcomeLuc BrusselmansBadger - Belgium

Good afternoon,This is probably a very stupid question.I have the usual OOM's when flying the 747 from PMDG and after reading through the various posts during most of this morning, I have added the /3Gb switch to my boot ini file. That was the easy part but do I have to tell Fs-9 (of FS-X) that they have to use that switch (LARGEADDRESSAWARE). And If so, how is that done?all help appreciatedLuc BrusselmansBadger - Belgiumsystem:Gigabyte EX38T-DQ6 - Intel E8500 Oc'ed to 4.37Mhz - 2 Gb DDR3 Corsair dominator (pc3-14400 cas7) - MSI N9800GTX

Having added an airport, no amount of adjusting with FlattEx of AFCAD will alter the heights of runways etc. The aircraft is permanently up to its wings in soil! Will I need to amend the .bgl file, and if so, how do you open them?

I am surprised that no one has created an quality rendition of Dallas-Ft Worth International. I know that a payware version came out years ago, and I think I still have it somewhere (SimFlyers??) but I remember it was tough on the frame rates. Same thing applies for Orlando and Miami - wish we could get someone to do these airports.

As I am still waiting to get my email from them to activate my forum account (not holding my breath), I have a question for those with access. Have they said anything in regards to a time frame for getting SP1 out the door? Also, how long on avg do you have to wait until you get an email to activate your forum account? Most boards have it done automatically but being Feelthere, they must do it some backwards way.
