Fellow Simmers/GurusFor a few months I have been trying to trace the cause of the "menu bar" disappearing during use of the simulator. Sometimes I am able to conduct a flight for about an hour other times less than 20 minutes (this can be very annoying). Especially when you are trying to use recorder or even simply playback the last few frames of a flight.I have noticed that during the simulation the text in the menu bar occasionally flickers, which eventually results in the "menu bar" disappearing. My experiment of learning Spanish by using the Fly mexico software was a dismal failure. So I un-installed Fly Mexico and the ATC voices in the US are still Spanish speaking about 50% of the time. Both ATC and some planes. Any suggestions on how to get rid of the Spanish speaking ATC fellas?Email to their tech support is unanswered.Thanks,

Hey guys,Well, I just received a new laptop in the mail yesterday even though I'm still out in the field training with the military. My new Dell will be for overseas entertainment while I'm deployed to Iraq. It's not powerful enough to play FSX currently as I didn't want to spend a heap on it as I'll be upgrading my desktop when I get back from deployment. The Dell has Windows Vista, and I'd like to be able to install FS9 and all my payware add-on's onto it. - When I put in the FS9 disks, in what directory did I need to install it?- What is this about "windows compatibility mode"?What do I need about installing and tweaking Vista for FS9? Hi guys,I'm having some CTD problems in Seattle area. My sim just turns black and I receive an error message telling me 'error unknown'.I have three sceneries in this widespread area...FlyTampa SeattleFZ02 Portland + LCCanUK CYYC + LCI am assuming that those LCs conflict with each other.Can anybody confirm this?I disabled the Calgary stuff, I'll probably make another flight just to see if it works now...Regards,

Is it possible, perhaps with the help of a third-party add-on, to alter airspace in FS9? St. Augustine (KSGJ) is Class D while towered and reverts to Class E at night. Can this be done in FS9?-Jeremy

Hi all,I'm back from vacationing on the beaches of southern Spain. Now, alas it's back to work :(Anyway, I'm continuing my work through the Overland FDEs to update them to more realistic parameters. I'm currently working on the Boeing 777-300 and then onto the 777-300ER. Ive been using Fs9 for a couple months and never really used the select a flight option(i have no idea why i never ventured into this tab lol). So i decided to go out and by Fs approaches vol3.As i went to select my flight i noticed i kept getting an error report. Figuring it may be a problem with Fs approachs Vol.3 i tried selecting a default flight,to my suprise none of them work either, and i keep getting the same error report with the modname unknown.Any help would be greatly appreciated. An observation for the 9 Dragons team. After upadating from V2 to V2.1, I have noticed a large improvement of the blurries problem, but I'm still noticing some in tile areas that contain hills under buildings, but not in the mountains. The patch improved things by a large order of magnitude, so it's not really a bad problem, just thought I'd post a shot of it for your information and comment.Kim

I like flying seaplanes and only way I have found to start a flight from the sea. Is to select a airport then "fly now" to arrive on the tarmac next select menu world/maps when in the map for selected airport change co-ordinates (seaplane bases from Combat Flight 2)also must set altitude to zero after click OK I now have my seaplane sitting in the water at Boulogne. As you can see it would be nice if I could setup new bases and save them in the airport listing.My question is this possible.

Since the start of the CS 757 project, I got totally confused about the blocks and packs or whatever they were and decided not to buy any of this series since it looked fragmented. That was ages ago. Did CS ever consolidate the product into a single offering, something more comprehensible, that a simple customer (like me) can understand? Or have any online sim shops done that kind of thing?JS

Does anyone have a better AFCAD for Shehryar Ansari's Houston (Hobby) scenery? The one that came with the scenery doesn't follow the taxiways in places. I would fix up the AFCAD myself but I am not good at putting the AI on the taxiway lines.

I searched the forums, but I couldn't find anyone who has had a similar issue, or a solution.I'm trying to merge the PSS Dash-8 panel to the Dreamwings model, but upon doing so, I'm left with a couple of areas of opaque black spots by the left corner of the panel, and by the compass frame, that cover the rest of the outside view.I attached a picture for better visibility. I can move and resize the panel, and the black areas move with the panel. When I do, the outside view is revealed, so that's sized correctly. So it would seems it some sort of issue with the bmp. Any ideas or solutions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.BTW, I'm running FS9 on a Vista SP2 computer.-…

Hi guys,When you start the Iris T-6 Texan II with the cold, dark cockpit, the aircraft has chocks, canopy covers and Remove Before Flight tags. Part of the checklist says (rather obviously) to remove them, but I have no idea how to do this. The documentation for the aircraft is sparse to the point of non-existent, so any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.Cheers

Hi,I installed the first version of kia tak (manually).I did note there was a fix to stop the ctd on changing to another airport but cant find it.I now see v2 with auto installer so do i have to uninstall v1 and use v2? is there instructions on how to uninstall v1?just a bit confused have been away from fs for a while and now see all the new v2 files.Thanks Richard

Any recommendations for good Rio de Janeiro + Sao Paulo scenery? I wonder if there is any scenery of the overall southeast coastal region of Brazil that enables one to fly between them and see great add-on scenery. Appreciate any recommendations, thanks!JS

This may sound like a dumb question but Im installing a scenery file for cyhz and im trying to install an afcad file for it also, but where do i put this afcad .bgl file, What folder?Sorry for the dumb question, I just have no idea where to put it.Thnaks GerryEDIT: Nevermind :) I think it goes in the scenery folder, thats what ill try.

ATC used to direct me to Gates - now it uses the word Stand almost all the time.Any ideas how it got changed (perhaps in EditVoicepak) but more importantly, how to get Gate back?I can live with it but Gate sounds better to me.

Hi all, I frequently get two separate voices from ATC giving the same insructions at the same time.This makes it difficult to hearthe message clearly. This occurs most often after takeoff and untilI reach cruising altitude. Does anyone know of this happening andhave a fix? I am using FS9.Dave

Hello,i purchased FSUIPC today and after open it for the first time Traffic Zapper worked fine but now it does not work anymore. I tried other keys but still does not work. I tried to find out whether all Key assignements do not work anymore but they do, only Traffic Zapper is not working anymore. Any ideas what causes the problem?Thanks for help!

Hi All,I have not been able to find this issue in the 360 odd pages of posts, but I apologise if it is there.I have a strange FS9 problem on a new Vista Ultimate machine.When in non Full screen mode (ie all the Vista controls are visible and the red program close "X" is visible too) The graphics fail to completely load unless I select look left/right/up etc and then it's fine but changing views (to VC, Spot, Tower etc) has no effect other than to cause the 2D cockpit view to flicker and then freeze. I know that because the cockpit clock stops. The simulator has obviously changed views in the background but it's not visible. I know the changes have happened as the back…
