Hi All,I started something today and was curious if there are other simmers that have done the same.I have the standard FS9 setup of one scenery entry for each airport. I usually de-activate the previous airports and activate the current airports (and restart FS9) as part of my pre-flight routine.I was thinking of creating just a few scenery folders, based on geographical location (North America, South America, PACRIM, Europe, Mid-east, etc...). This way, instead of choosing each and every individual airport, I could just activate the area I would be flying in.As an example, a normal airport folder (scenery/texture) may run from Kilobytes to 10-20Mb. Hi all,I'm flying the luscious new Citation X 2.0 and loving life. I find that the FMS depends on a good flight plan. I am also using PFE which can use SID/STAR if I know how to program it in. I don't know how to do that however.I can't seem to find the needed charts for departures (DP). I can find approach charts but the DPs don't seem to be available. How do you plan the departure properly so PFE doesn't say "Fly runway heading" each time? I checked AirNav, Chartfinder, etc. but can't figure this out. How do you guys plan your flights? I have FSNav and it can do some magic with STARs but again, I don't know how to use it properly.Any help would be greatly appreciated. D…

Hi,I just downloaded the new version of VTBS from www.siamavsim.com - it really is very nice indeed.I initially had a problem with it though - I see comments have been posted before about the same thing. Despite this being a supposedly 'fixed' version, the runways disappear under the ground as you get anywhere near them: for some reason the runway height has been set a few feet below the ground level. If anyone is having the same problem it is quite easy to fix using fsflatten in conjunction with AFCAD2. Ever since installing KIAD from Imaginesim, I've been getting OOM errors when flying to or from the airport... mostly long haul flights to Europe. If I fly to or from the airport domestically (flights under 4 hours) I don't seem to get the OOM crashes (though I do see the memory usage starting to spike)last night, I tried a flight from Europe to the default KIAD just as a test and didn't get the OOM error. Then I re-enabled the Imaginesim KIAD and tried the same flight and BOOM - I got an OOM about 40nm out from the airport.Has anyone else experienced and similar problems with this scenery? Does anybody here have the boxed CD-ROM of the Cap Sim 757 with the latest edition/updates as was reviewed on AVSIM recently (great review). If so, does the boxed edition work out of the box, as it were, and without any major glitches and bugs? Appreciate any posts, thanks, and Happy New Year!JS

i have just got aerosoft fsmap and i am having a few problems the map comes with maps for austria belgium luxembourg and germany i have been trying to get maps for the usa and uk and also france but i am having problems i have found several maps but when i try to put them onto fsmap i get a message saying out of memory . i do believe that the maps are in a bitmap format that you need can any one help with this problem please .i have also sent a email to aerosoft they were not mutch help they told me to look on fsmap forum ,i have tried several downloads for this site avsim for france and a few others by matt fox but they would not go onto aerosoft fsmap just got a me…

Hello together and a Happy New Year :(I'd like to give a try recording videos from my FS (best with FRAPS), but I've only got an onboard sound card, so unfortunately there's no sound in the videos.Do I necessarily need a sound card or is there any option to alter in oder to have sound?Any help is appreciated!

Hi. For several months I have installed ACTIVE SKY. Since yesterday, when I open it, I get out, in sequence, these signals error:" Fatal Execution Engine Error (0x7927f26e)" "Application has generated an exeption that could not be handled. Process id=0x52c(1324), Thread id=0x304(772)" "Registered JIT debugger is not available. An attempt to launch a JIT debugger with the following command resulted an error code of 0x2 (2). Please check computer settings. cordbg.exe !a0xd08 Click on Retry to have the process wait while attaching a debugger manually. Clock on Cancel to abort the JIT debug request."What should I do to solve the problem? Thank you.

Hello,I have downloaded Kazuhiro Miyazaki's Narita and Kansi airport sceneries and they are really wonderful. However, both of them have a problem on the taxiways and runways with "object collisions" when there is nothing visible around me to run into.I know I can avoid this by disabling crashes, but I am also running FSPassengers which doenst recognize the no crash rule, so that is where the problem arises.Is there anyway to fix this? I am sure it has something to do with the files comming from FS2002 and I am using FS9. I hope this hasent been discussed before, and if so, I apolgize, I didnt do a search.Thanks.

Maybe I'm blind, I read the hardware post that Tom pinned up at the top of the forum but when I look below the FS9 and FSX forums I still don't see the Hardware Forum. Am I missing something?

Guys, I need you're help and advise. The question I have is there a conflict with the mother board and the graphic card? I am using FS9 with several add on like;Level D 767-300, PMDG 737ng 600-900, PSS 777-200/300, MD-80 Pro, Wilco airbus vol 2 . . . etc. Some of these add on are good with the frame rate set at 25, but I have Captain sim 757, PSS 777, and Wilco Air bus vol 2 runs slow, so the question I need to ask is do I need to upgrade the graphic card or is the graphic card good but the mother board suck? HelloI use a lot of third party gauges with my aircraft.And I find one major drawback with these otherwise very useful add-ons is night flying.At night these gauges remain dark even when the panel lights are on.Is there a way of illuminating these so i can see for night flying use?Gauges that need lighting are Cockpit commander Pushback (Rob Berendregt)mainly these two.cheers Andy

I'm looking for help in seting up my hat switch on my joystick. I had it setup like I want it and I think my 2 yr old somehow changed the settings while I was away from the computer. Anyway the way I prefer the hat switch setting is to snap (or maybe look is the correct term?) to different views while inside the cockpit in 2D and return to the forward view when I release the hat switch. But pan around while in spot view.I remember having a difficult time trying to get it set up this way originally and can not figure out how to get it setup back this way again. I set the hat switch to View (snap to fixed view), witch gets what I want in cockpit view but now in spot vie…

Help! I'm starting to lose it. I'm getting a CTD on starting up FS2004 like I've never seen before. I get the splash screen and then after a shorter wait than normal the FS2004 tool bar across the top of the screen appears (doubled-one tool bar over another tool bar) briefly before the default flight starts to load with the status bar showing "loading scenery objects" before the CTD happens and FS2004 is simply gone with nothing more occurring. I've had CTDs before and have always been able to trouble shoot them by tracing back to any recent changes/additions/deletions I have made.
