Has anyone had a problem unzipping any of Navigraph's FMS files? I've been using PKWARE to unzip files with for years including Navigraph FMS files with no problems whatsoever until now. I had to extract the files using Windows Explorer instead of using PKWARE this time. I've had to restore to this on occasion to unzip files downloaded from PC Aviator's Download Store (though not EVERY time). Anyone else run into this problem (or knows what causes it)?

Hi there!.I was wondering if any of you guys may know how to get rid of the god awful landing light cones that seem to appear in low visability or when flying through clouds... The one aircraft that is annoying me the most is the SkySimualtions Dc-9.... for a 35Euro addon im genuinly dissapointed with it.... Dont get me wrong, its a lovely addon and they've done a brilliant job... but its filled with bugs and i dont even know if SP2 is comming for the Fs2004 version.....Anyway slightly off subject there, the main thing is those stupid light cones, I'll attach a couple of screenshots so that yall can get the jist of whats grinding my gears....Thankyou for any help, much ap…

Hey guys,I have the following problem:When I exit out of FS9 via the menu option or the button on the top right corner my system comes to a complete crawl until I restart my computer.When this happened I immediately opened the task manager and I couldn't find anything wrong there was no fs9.exe listed in the processes and both my CPU and Memory usage were normal. Hello everyone,As the title (and description) suggests, this happens mainly with approaches to KATL. I have Imaginesim's scenery installed, but even before that, this seemed to be an ongoing issue. No matter where I fly from, from which direction I'm approaching, or to which runway I've been vectored, ATC always gives me the initial vectors (for any given runway), then completely ignores me before completely canceling my flight plan. Is this a known issue with KATL in FS9 in general? Once or twice I've managed to be vectored almost all the way there - except if that happens (and it's rare), I'm usually cleared to the tower about 60 miles outbound instead of the usual …

There are 2 or 3 dozen featureless 2001: A Space Odyssey-like monolithic slabs (in various shades of gray) surrounding and among the buildings in GAP's LGIO scenery. This problem is similar to one I had with several Australian scenery files because I had neglected to place several Airport 2.6 textures files in the main FS2002/texture folder (the structures in this case being made up of two slabes forming an "X"). As soon as I copied the missing Airport 2.6 texture files in the FS2002 texture folder the featureless structures turned into trees. I suspect that the problem with GAP's LGIO scenery might be similar but I copied the same missing Airport texture files to FS20…

I was just looking over some forum posts on performance and in one thread someone had mentioned gamebooster, It says it will close down process that are not necessary, and also turn on "game mode" which im not sure what that means.But anyways to my questions, Will shutting down process's that are not needed speed up performance any or is it an "old wives tale"?Also anyone have experience with this gamebooster?Thanks

Hi,OK, I've downloaded FS Recorder because apparently it can record my aircraft as well as my AI traffic which is World-of-Ai for me. However when I tried playing my aircraft I didn't see one AI aircraft that was when I was flying or with the aircraft? Secondly does FS Recorder record announcement from FS Passengers? If yes that didn't get recorded either.Now for the FS Passengers is that it doesn't get recorded by FS Recorder when I play back my aircraft. Does anyone know why? Secondly after the safety announcements FS Passengers doesn't even say one thing after takeoff or before takeoff after the safety announcement. I usually do IFR flight plans and I've tried this for…

I have windows 7 64BitBut in order to get some liveries on aircraft to work i had to put FS9 into windows XP compatibility mode...Will i still get out of memory messages in XP compatibility mode even though im on a 64Bit OS?Liam

What is the best way to back up FS9? I have a huge install and it would take weeks for me to go reconfiguring my installation, plus if I build a new PC I want to transfer the (especially payware scenery and aircraft as well as lots of freeware scenery) whole lot across. Is there a 'procedure for this?Would love to know. I made a Ghost (Norton) back up of my PC with FS2004 fresh install on it with this PC but I don't think a Ghost image would work on any other PC, even with the same Motherboard. I have the same Motherboard in storage (just need to build a 2nd PC) but activation won't work I think.Any ideas and suggestions, tips and of course procedures WELCOME!

I've been experiencing consistent CTD due to g3d.dll when apporaching FZ02 KPDX from both KSEA and KSFO. 100% of the time. It was getting really annoying so I renamed the kpdx_28L_ilsfix.BGL file to kpdx_28L_ilsfix.xxBGLbak to prevent duplicate AFCAD files from being recognized for KPDX and behold, no CTD 2/2 times. Not sure what this 'ilsfix' files does (changes the ILS heading) but for me, it seems to make a difference for preventing CTD.Hope it's a 'fix' to stablize operation in this region on my setup.Pat

Hi guys,just hoping someone knows even roughly where to start on this one. I've been using my Ju-52 "Auntie Ju" for a few weeks now and am still trying to sort out a few issues. I suppose the major one is the hydraulic system, which is currently hijacked by a strange bug ...On selecting and loading the aircraft in FS 2004 it works fine, (differential) brakes function as normal. The problem comes in after start-up of number 2, which is the one fitted with the aircraft's only hydraulic pump. As soon as the hydraulic pressure settles on the normal ~1050 psi, the brakes are gone, gone as in FS 2004 does not react to brake input at all, even though the brake pressure gauge on…

Hi GuysIn case you may have overlooked it, a few days ago there was a new freeware aircraft posted on AVSIM. It is a CR42, a biplane fighter that was used by the Reggio Aeronautica during WWII. (As well as by the Belgians, the Swedes and the Luftwaffe and also in the Spanish Civil War by the Nationalists - all these are modelled)The file is cr42_v01.zip. A number of distinctly different versions are modelled and a huge number of different paint schemes. HiI found some information in the library submitted by David Marshall regarding adding the FPDA callout gauge and .wav files to FS2004 so that they could be used in the panel of any aircraft.The instructions were quite straightforward to follow and I placed the .gau and .wav files in their correct folders. I am also quite comfortable with editing a panel.cfg file so I added the gauge to the panel of Carenado's Mooney M20J. However, it doesn't work and I don't get any height callouts - oh dear!!I am running everything under Windows 7 32 bit. I am finding a very strange thing when flying from some of my Israeli sceneries. At different points in the flight (it seems pretty random) there is a "metallic clunk" sound and the screen freezes. When I press ESC it goes straight to the desk top. As far as I can remember I haven't added any scenery that should be conflicting and only a few AI aircraft that I hadn't been using before. It doesn't seem to happen at every airport - but the ones that it does happen at are at different ends of the country. Nearby airports don't seem to be affected - for example, it happens at LLET Eilat but not at LLOV Ovda AFB which is just a few miles away. WEIRD! :( Any suggestions?

What screenshot software do you guys use?I had gadwin printscreen when my system was on XP, and it was working fine, now im on windows 7, gadwin printscreen does not like FS2004 what so ever, it takes screenshots of images that arnt up, like ill take a screenshot of just the aircraft, and it will show the menu which appears when you right click, and i cant get it to stop that :(so what do you guys use?

Hello first of all!I have a big problem with Flight Simulator 2004 & FrapsWhen I start recording in FS2004 fraps shows a very high framerate around 50 (in Recording!). But the videoclip is laggy! There are many frames which have 15 or 16 frames but not longer then a secound. Anyone experience altimeter resetting to standard 29.92 without user intervention? I have a freeware P-3C aircraft, and occasionally the altimeter resets to standard pressure (29.92), even though I am not changing it, nor am I hitting "B". I have never had this issue before. Only happens with this particular aircraft. Any suggestions as to why this would happen? Obviously, the barometric pressure is no 29.92 when this occurs. Thanks!Derald

Lets presume that the the weight, weather, fuel etc data that I intoduce into the FMS - be it a LevelD, an iFly, a PMDG - is correct, so the FMS does its business and gives a set of data like Opt Flight level, climb and cruise target speeds, etc.So how come so often my aircraft seems incapable of reaching the Crz level I set, let alone the Opt Alt, teven after burning off some fuel, and even dropping FPM to 400 or so the aircraft loses speed - waaay lower than the target climb speed;AT this moment the Opt Alt is FL380 and I am stuggling to reach FL310 and ir would take weeks to get higher.Are the figures that the FMS produces nothing more than recomendations - "This would…

My installation of FS9 on Win7 64 has been running well and problem free for quite along time, but recently the sim has been crashing to Desktop just when I'm about to touchdown while flyingthe PIC737. This has happened at different airports in different areas of the world and has gotme totally baffled. Thought perhaps it could be the TCAS because all crashes have occurred while flying on Vatsim Network and there were other aircraft waiting at holding points, butTCAS2v7.dll which is the latest version is present. Hi All,I've been looking around for a program that would be able to give a 'dispatch release' with loadsheet, weather maps, enroute METARs etc. I already have TOPCAT and am looking to perhaps purchase Flight Operation Center.
