Watching King Schools PPL DVDs is quite enjoyable but definitely NOT easy when it comes to applying the learned stuff in practice! Here is the deal:I'm supposed to fly VFR on Bellanca Scout 8GCBC (RealAir) from 7S3 (Stark's Twin Oaks, OR) to 2S1 (Vashon Muni, WA). Here is the necessary info (partial) I've entered into my VFR Flight Log as part of my ground flight preparations:- VFR sectionals- Route distance (123.7 nm)- Approx. time enroute (1 hour)- True courses & magnetic variations, etc.- Visual check points along the route (KSPB, Silver Lake, WN74, KTCM)- Altitude (5,500')- Winds aloft- NavaidsNow, my problem is SPEEDS!!! Just recently I've downloaded a Boeing 737-700 airplane. It looks like a really decent aircraft. The only problems I'm having is with the controls. Mainly steering left and right while airborne. It performs slowly. Couple other things are elevator and stopping distance when landing. So I'm wondering if it's possible to modify something in the .air file or .cfg files? What I actually wanted to do was copy and paste something from a different aircraft. I have an airbus a320 that controls really well. Like the steering and so forth. Is it possible to fix these 3 things using notepad for the .air and .cfg files? Everything I've tried so far didn't work out....

Hello again everyone,This is a kind of follow-up to the problem I was having a few weeks ago with my ATC, which was posted in this forum. I mostly resolved that problem by downloading and installing the EditVoicePack program. But, now I have a new problem that is driving me up the wall. It is a radio/ATC problem whereby I never get passed onto Center when on an IFR flight. Communications on the ground are fine, as is Departure control. Approach control also works, when and/if I get handed off. The problem occurs when Departure control issues an instruction hours into a long flight that requires a reply, and I miss said instruction and reply. My IFR flightplan gets …

Hi -- first post so I'll say hello and thanks for a great site.A problem has recently arisen with my FS9's map (Alt/menu > World > Map). The aspect ratio appears to be wrong, in that it's stretched out laterally somewhat, making circular features (restricted zones etc.) appear like flattened ovals. It isn't a game-breaker but it doesn't look right.It's just the map; the main screen is fine.This seems to have happened after I installed (as an experiment, subsequently uninstalled as it didn't show up in-game) an FS2002 scenery area. Hi allToday's review of Military Visualisation's Cessna C310R says it's available for FS9 as well as FSX but I can only find the FSX version for sale.Is this a typo or does anyone know where I can download and purchase the version for FS9?Many thanks for any info.David

I am currently running Ultimate Terrian, GEPro, REX. Have come accross some Arizona and Nevada scenery in Blue Sky Scenery. Is there any point in downloading this or do I basicly have the same thing in GEPro and Ultimate Terrian. Thanks for any help.

Hi,I'm looking for the FS2002 SDK's and it's surprisingly difficult to find good info on it. I have the Pro version of FS2002, apparently I can find the SDK's on one of the discs, but my PC has a hard time reading them, so it'd save me time and aggrevation knowing where exactly I could find them. Guys, those who on win7 64-bit, did you notice the process doesn't shut off on exit from the game? Unfortunately it has many complications for different reasons in fs9. Any ideas how to make fs9.exe exit and shut down properly?Thanks,Dirk.

For some reaosn, my call sign in the Maddog is "Douglas <Reg. Nr.>" while all other airliners are always <Airline> <Flight Nr.>. I have looked in the aircraft.cfg and all info seems to be there. Both flight number and airline are mentioned, but still ATC calls me by the manufacturer's name, as if I am GA. I really don't get it... How does ATC determine what to call me? Plus, when the airline is entered incorrectly in the cfg, it does call me by my flight number (doesn't name the airline because it doesn't recognize it). Most important: How do I get ATC to call my Leonardo Maddog by airline and flight number?

I want to re-install FS9 but place it on a secondary hard drive (D: drive instead of C: drive). The install process on the CD does not option this. Anyone know how I would do this?

Hey gang! I attempted to install the FlyTampa KSFO into FS9 (Win 7, 64bit). Things didn't seem to work so, I uninstalled it. Anyhow, both while it was installed and after un-install, I get this message on startup:SCENERY,CFG file error. Invalid remote scenery path in scenery area.038.Here's what the .cfg file says for that area:[Area.038]Title=Addon SceneryLocal=Layer=38Active=TRUERequired=FALSERemote=Is it missing info? I haven't done a full test but, this "error" does not seem to affect anything. However, I want to get it fixed.P.S. Any ideas on how why I'm getting purple blocks on FlyTampa KSFO? Is direct x 10 worth having if im running fs9 only, or will it affect my performance if my vid card isnt the best out there. Im doing some research in optimizing my computer to get as much performance as possible, and noticed that im running directx 10(i didnt even know i installed it)Thanks

I have just reinstalled FS9 after a year or two hiatus from using it. My last OS update to Vista64 left me using only FSX and working at tweaking it (an eternal process of frustration) as well as xPlane v9. Missing the Dreamfleet Baron and Bonanza and Aeroworx King Air and FSD Aerostar were the main reasons for the reinstall of FS9. I've got the first three aircraft working well, the DF Baron/Bonanza required some gauge swapping with current RXP offerings. The FSD Aerostar installed fine and works well in its default as downloaded form but the Spirit of Kai Tak repaint will not install using Vista64. Could I trouble someone that has this installed on their system to …

Good evening. I have been running FS9 on Windows XP for years and logged many hours in the air. I bought a new PC with Win 7 and was really excited to install the simulator on it so that I would not be slowed down by framerates. The simulator itself runs beautifully but I cannot download any AI traffic. I alwyas used World of AI in the past with its own installer, but this time, there are all sorts of problems. The one that comes back often is that, for example, I am loading AI West Jet, it tells me that WestJet Airline already exists. My only option is to repair it, and when I do, it tells me that none of the aircrafts are found. Is there something that I missed during t…

Hi all,I installed Jim Vile's procedure files for ImagineSim's ATL and for some reason, I now encounter some issues (I used it before, without any problems). After installing it according to the manual, the aircraft on the airport take strange taxi routes, take-off from an intersection of runway 08L (not 08R) and I have no transitions available on approach? What could cause this? Thanks in advance.
