Hi folks have just downloaded the ATR 72-500. But cannot open the Configuration Manager. I just get a 429 error message.Does anybody know the remedy for this please.Thanks. John

Ah stutters- so I've recently upgraded my system to a asus mobo, with a an AMD phenom quad core (3 gig each) and 4 gigs of ddr3 ram- I still get stutters with this system and frame rates no higher than 40 consistently- now what I think the problem might be:- an ATI Radeon 3650 pcie card with one gig on board ram- is this what is slowing down and creating stutters in FS9?Thanks

Hello AllI have a fairly old ,(but perfectly acceptable in terms of performance for FS9) PC (P4 .2.8 .2gb ram,Nvidea 6600GT GCard) my current monitor is a seventeen inch Philips non widescreen) I have been looking at monitors at various sites and they are pretty cheap now (I paid over three hundred pounds for my current monitor about five years ago) I have seen twenty inch Monitors for as little as 80-90 pounds.These new monitors seem to have a much higher resolution than my current one.( i run FS at 1280 -1024 ) My question is would a newer 20inch have a significant affect on performance? I assume the bigger the screen the more demand on your Gcard.Anyway any thoughts a…

What happened to the Punta Cana scenery made by DominicanAerodromes? I can't seem to find it anywhere. I found the demo version here on avsim but that has "demo" signs in the scenery.I also see the Tropicalsim made a Punta Cana scenery. Which one is better? The one made by Tropicalsim or the one made by Dominicanaerodromes?

I'm sure this topic has been beat to death, but I'll ask anyways.I'm a long-time FS9 flyer with more than a thousand hours both online and offline. I stopped flying while I went to Paramedic school. Now that I've graduated and have a full time job, I actually have some free time to resume flying. In the intermening time during school I got a new computer. This new computer does not have my old flight sim software. Therefore my question is, what is the general avsim opinion on the topic of re-installing my FS9 software or purchasing (for cheap) FSX and installing that. I have noticed that at some airports (e.g. SEGU) some (but not all - weird) AI traffic lands some way before or after the actual runway: at SEGU (segu_4.zip, flightsim.com) I just saw one a/c descend the length of the runway and land in the fields outside the airport. Obviously I have checked for duplicate AFCADs - there aren't any (according to ScanAFD, AFCAD2, my folder searches): just the 3rd. party airport AFCAD and the default FS AP******.bgl file. At SEGU the start points for both of these are almost the same - no reason I can see for some a/c to land past the runway. At one or two other airports I saw traffic land in the sea, short of the airport. Again. Not all ..…

Hi all! Today, I ran FS9 AS ADMINISTRATOR because some of my planes weren't showing up. However, when I went to my departure airport, which was Dusseldorf, I saw that the addon scenery that I had was not there. Then, I checked with Stuttgart. Same issue! There were default airports instead of the addons. I went to my scenery library, and saw that none of the airport sceneries I have were there. Only the default ones were there. I exited FS9 and I ran FS9 NOT AS ADMINISTRATOR and the airports were there. Do you know how I can fix this, because some of the planes that I fly with are only accessible when I run FS9 as administrator.Nikolay

I have just recently brought a new computer and while installing FS9 I found out that three of the VOZ programs have become corrupted. Now that Vista OZ is no longer with us it's hard to find them, so if some knows where I can find VOZ 1.4, 1.5 and VOZ 1.7 or could send them to me it would help me out greatly.

I have had no replies from anyone in the CS forum here and CS themselves rejected my request for help (my reaction to which I shall not record here!).The problem is that my config manager reports it can't find the 727 - although I also have the CS 707 and the 707 TCE finds that OK. I just wanted to check that the installed CD 727 folder name is what the programme is expecting. Can anyone who has this a/c please tell me what folder name it is installed under and whether the TCE config works (I want to stop the cabin and engine startup announcements).Thanks!Martin

I have a huge problem. Whenever I click on the FS9 icon, the game does not start. No splashscreen, no black screen, just nothing.Tried Safe mode, same result.Tried deleting FS9.cfg, same result.Tried uninstalling FS9 and reinstalling, same result.Now I notice that since uninstalling and re-installing FS9 that FS9.CFG no longer exsists. It doesn't even build it because it never starts.Tried disabling anti-virus, nothing.It was working fine a few weeks ago, and the only changes I've made since then was tinkering a bit with the FSX shadders, but I don't know how that can affect FS9 and I have since unintalled FSX anyway.Any ideas? Hello simmers... anyone know how do i fix my taxiing on ground? my plane turns too easily and sharply just from a little left or right turn. help would be greatly appreciated.

Wrote this on several forums without getting an answer.ADE is at the moment too complicated for me so I use the Afcad programme from Lee.When I edit (change gate sizes or add airline codes) I often get the default buildings.Then hopefully someone has made an "exclude"file.My question is after installing the exclude file can I continue using 2.21 to alter things without getting further issues which may involve de- and re- installing the airport.I am sure I am not the only one with this question.

Hi,As the title says, i have seen somewhere that the airbus pitch during cruise can be edited to make it more realistic at around 2.5-3 degree pitch instead of the 5+ degrees at the moment. Does anybody know where i have seen this?Cheers

It seems whenever I access a PDF document through Acrobat reader the font used by Firefox (the browser I use) will change either larger or smaller dependent on the particular PDF doc I was reading. Anyone else notice this? It also affects the font used in FS9 or FSX. For example the "Cycle Coordinates/Frame Rate (SHIFT z) Display" or the "Radar Contact" Display has a larger font size than the last time I flew.Regards,

Hey... Does anybody know why when I try and take-off or land on 35L/17R the aircraft crashes into what is an invisible object ..? The reason I know it's an object is because the single green line appears stating 'Object Collision'. I've tried several different YMMB Afcads including the original and nothing seems to fix this error. Any guidance or help would be appreciated from anyone..? Many thanks - Pablo

Could anyone help me edit an FS9 .fx file? I have the Effects SDK and documents and have browsed the internet a while looking for the specific answers I need, but I am no expert in this and don't want to mess up the file by making invalid changes.The files are audio effects - replacement touchdown effects. They sound good but I would really like to increase the distance from which they can be heard. The elements that the SDK doc refers to as controlling this (Radius= ) are not in the fx file, and I don't know whether the radius is a line that should go into audio effect - maybe it's just for visuals??There are no [Controller] paragraphs in the file - do I need to add one …

I read somewhere, ( I forgot where), that removing the "display".cfg from the main fs9 folder improves framerates.Is this a viable "tweak" or just snake oil?

Hi. Here's Isla Màs a Tierra (aka Robinson Crusoe Island) in the Juan Fernàndez archipelago, 400 miles or so west of Chile's Santiago. A screenie and a map extract. I have FS Global 2008. You can see that the mesh is not aligned with Microsoft's coastline. I'm growing tired of the flat north coasts and huge south coast sea cliffs that crop up everywhere as a result of the misalignment. Could someone be kind and take ten minutes to do me a favour by posting a similar screenie and map extract of the same place under alternative mesh? Newer Global or any Genesis come to mind, but anything really. It would help me in deciding whether to obtain a replacement for Global '08.…

This is my story of my scenery issues, so if you are sitting comfortably I will begin....I am in a bit of a dilemma regarding installing different scenery; to cut a long story short, many moons ago I used to have VFR Photographic scenery and VFR Terrain for England & Wales.
