Does anyone remember the quite promising screenshots (amazing VC shots) back in 2007 of the group called Xsimulate?The developers always kept hopes high, meanwhile their website and forum alltogether vanished from the www.I was so looking forward to a properly modelled DC-10 for FS9 (and/or FSX).Any thoughts?Bummer...

I have seen topics regarding replacement default runway/taxiway textures for fs9, and recall having downloaded these in a previous FS9 life. My only gripe was that they tended to shimmer, much like the default ones even when AA is on high along with other graphics settings On scenery packages many of them have 'photoreal' textures for the airport runways/taxiways/grass and they are often much more realistic when viewed on my PC Does anyknow know of any default replacement textures that would fit this idea, something that uses more varied textures that arent too jagged? Hi Folks, hope you can help. I recently added an airport scenery to my Addon folder, and the readme asked me to add the 2 BMP files ashphalt & Tarmac to FS9's texture folder. Since doing so, many of the airport's and airfield's apron and taxi ways are now showing up a horrible black surface. If I remove the 2 files, then everything just goes white. Is there something I can do to get my aprons and taxiways, back to the regular gray concrete surface they were. I have tried uninstalling the added scenery, bu8t that doesn't change anything. Every day there are new flightplans in the AVSIM library, released by United Traffic Team/Michael Babitskiy. Not sure he is doing them all himself or whether there is a team behind it, but even then it's still an amazing output rate. They include some very big airlines that are probably complex to do. So how good are they? So far my quality benchmark is stuff by AIG and some of their "friends", where flightplans are usually complete in terms of flights and fleet, have a good balancing of aircraft usage, and are checked for errors. How do the UTT plans compare to that? If they are at least almost as good I'd get them, but if they are not good then I rather stick with a…

Some time ago I downloaded and installed a set of replacement textures for the stock gravel runways. But as I usually fly airliners or military aircraft, I never actually got around to looking at them. Today I decided to do a flight using the amazing Georender Alaska Cinematic Vols 1 & 2 scenery. It provides a fabulous experience that is so life-like it is almost breath-taking. But the airstrips all use stock textures and the transition from almost real world realism to the pathetic stock airstrips used to spoil the experience and I lost interest. Hi all, have noticed recent downloads of Boeing 777-300 and 767 American Airlines livery for FS2004 as well as FS-X from simviation.com, graphics and panels are excellent photoreal quality, however once installed in a Windows 7 (64bit) machine (have not tried in other windows formats since unavailable to me) they do not like to leave the runway with my joystick pulled back all the way. Hi Folks. Does anybody know what has happened to my FS9. My Addon-scenery all works fien, but I'm finding that all my default airports, now have white boxes for buildings. Seems the building's textures have disappeared. (Please see attached image). Any suggestions gratefully received. John

I just had a minor upgrade and would like to put it on a test by running a plain FSX without complex addons (don't have them anyway). Would it be okay to install FSX side by side with my lovely FS9? Will there be any registry issues or such? I could just give it a try but I just finished installing FS9 and Windows 7 yesterday after making hardware changes. Cheers

I have trawled the internet but am stumped to discover that there are no decent payware sceneries for Kuala Lumpur International WMKK or Sydney YSSY. The freeware WMKK is OK but I would love there to be something like imaginesim's VHHH or WSSS. Does anyone know if there's anything in development? I am most surprised that there's no Sydney Scenery better than the CLS one (which to me looks almost like the default anyway!), again does anyone know of these in development anywhere?

Hello All Tried this at Flightsim.com ,but no takers........ FSRaas 20 Question Hello All I have been using FsRaas by Dongjin Shin, and I am having variable performance with it. Sometimes I get plenty of advisory messages ,sometimes not. I n the help file there are instructions for removing all runways less than 5000ft using EXCEL (which I don't have) and editing the file "r4.csv" this is done to improve performance FsRaas. I was wondering if anybody has done this ,and if so would it be possible to upload the edited version of "r4.csv" to the library so it could be tested . Cheers Andy

I did not see anything recently, so here goes... I had to reinstall my FFS 340, but now cannot register the gauges to allow the aircraft to work since the company is no longer around. Has anyone found a way to get a legal copy of the aircraft working again? Thanks for any assistance. Robert

My pet hate. Flight from LPPT (Lisbon) to LEMD (Madrid) using default sceneries. Departure and cruise all Ok and then I had to try and decipher the Spanish approach plates for the arrival at Madrid. Not an easy read but all sorted and the arrival sucessfully loaded into the FMC, ROLDO1C for the ILSZ 33R...no problems. So confident am I that I whip out and fire up the expresso machine for a quick Java (Colombian medium roast). When I return i'm in the later stages of the STAR and in a few minutes will be turning finals for the ILS and all the time knowing that the nav radios are being auto tuned. Er, that should be 'PAX' of course!! It seems to me that ATC prefers to send my PAX a/c to a cargo ramp if it can, rather than to a gate. It happens over and over again at all airports, even ones where I see in AFCAD the parking places have been assigned a function under "Parking Users" and there are plenty of PAX gates available. I forget where the vital information is held. Do the "atc_parking_codes=" variables make any difference to where the a/c is sent? Have I overlooked something else? Thanks, Martin

I have a low end system... Like i5 3 GB of RAM @2.2 Ghz. I love ai traffic, like alot of it. Where at airports I am waiting for all the planes to takeoff before me for like 15 minutes. I have WOAI traffic, but woai has a huge hit on my frames when traffic is above like 20%. I currently have mine on 12%, but thats not really realistic. Ultimate traffic still has FPS issues. Does anyone know of a program of ai traffic for a low end system that does not have such a huge hit on frames? Thank you! Summer

Using a CH FSY210 yoke. Cannot find any way to pan left or right with the hat switch or any other buttons. Works fine in Fs 2000????

Bit of a newbe. ATC text window closes after some traffic, and not after others. Haven't found the pattern yet but is a nuisance. Have assigned a button to open the window just to keep up. Any ideas?

Hello! So today I was flying the easyJet flight from Glasgow to Bristol, and something peculiar happened. I took off with my A319 and ATC told me to "turn left to heading 235". I did that and continued flying. After a while, I got to my cruising altitude, and was still on the west bound heading of 235. If you know geography, you would know that my west bound course led me to the Irish Channel. Then turned south, which was not an ATC order, but then they told me to "expedite right turn to 235" and I followed. Hi there! I still like to fly my good old FS9 from time to time. I have so many addons installed and I just love the smoothness of the sim with complex airliners like the Leonardo SH Maddog or the iFly 737 with maxed out settings! But since a few days I have a strange problem: As soon as my Win XP Professional (SP3) is booted up completely, I get a bluescreen (IRQL less or equal, also mentioning afd.sys) which leads to a reboot of my machine. This becomes an endless loop. Only way to get rid of it, is to boot up in safe mode, uninstall the driver of the integrated WLAN and thereafter, everything works flawlessly.
