I notice that the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise has just appeared in the Flight Sim Pilot Shop. It is apparently an upgrade of the product produced some years ago by Alphasim, which I didn't buy at the time but which I thought I might now try just for a different type of challenge. I did have an aircraft carrier addon from Abacus many years ago but it caused a few problems with other scenery areas (well it was from Abacus!) so I didn't reinstall it when I was reinstalling FS9. I am however now thinking of giving this a try but wondered if anyone else has experience of it (or even the old Alphasim version) before I buy it? Bill

Hi Folks. Does anybody understand why one in three landings I make in my PSS 320/319 results in the speed breaks being jammed up on one wing only, making taxiing impossible. Thanks John

Id love if someone could give me a link for Peachtree-Dekalb Airport scenery? havent seen one for FS9 but my search did bring me to a X-PLane 9 version. Any way to convert that one or is there a scenery for FS9 out? Thanks!

I am considering an upgrade from my 20" monitor to a 24". The resolution of my 20" monitor is 1680x1050 but a 24" would have a higher resolution. Is there a way to increase my current screen resolution to 1900x1200 in FS2004 to test what the performance impact would be before I buy a new monitor? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks

I've just finished re-installing FS9 in hopes my problem would go away, but it still exists. I am running Windows Vista Ultimate, 32bit and, was, FS9 on the SONY VAIO. My problem, default airplane or not, is once I load FS9 up for a trip, I am having issues switching between views like 2D, VC, tower etc...If I were to hit the 'W' key to switch from 2D to the six pack, the top of the panel shaves off a bit, the glare shield usually. If I were to rotate to a six pack view, and then switch to a different airplane, I can rotate through the various views mentioned above just fine, like normal. Does anybody know where I can get my hands on an iFDG MD-11 and Project Airbus A321 in Sabena's last two liveries? I wanna be able to fly the whole fleet in FS9 and these two are the problem areas.

Hi. I have one or two a/c (a Dash 7 for example) which at level cruise altitude will not fly anywhere near the real-world max cruise speed, even with throttles flat out (I can't get the Dash 7 past about 180 knots). How do I change things so that I can get faster cruise speeds (that is to say, more realistic - I don't want the a/c to go any faster than they should of course!)? I thought I could edit the aircraft.cfg file's Performance section (after making sure editable=0 is changed to "1"), but it doesn't seem to help. HI all, Upgraded my PC about 15 months ago, and was finally able to run FSX with most sliders to the right (heck, it only six years to get that running good) - I've recently gone back to FS9 because of the super QW Avro But a couple of things I miss in FSX that I don't have in FS9; - smooth panning. I love the smooth panning in FSX, either the efault or EZDOK. That said, the default camera system does suck a tad. EZDOK is good, but fiddly. - blurries. These seem to have gone in FSX. I can fly jets at 25 000 with crystal clear photoscenery here. Same hardware on FS9 seems to blur on default scenery, let alone photoscenery - horizons,haze and sunsets, they se…

Hi all! is there any way around the odd freeware airport that has a building crash eg while taxing? i know turning off crashes etc might help but takes the realism out of the whole thing. And it`s quite annoying to pan while flying only to have a building crash at 35000 ft.

This afternoon, I set up a flight in the Level-D 767 with my trusty rig. I have about 20 CH and GoFlight modules which have been in place for years now and generally they work well. Not today however! After experiencing a series of throttle surges in the 767, I closed the sim in order to re-open it and start again. The moment FS9 started to re-load, I got two windowed error messages I've never seen in all the years I've been simming and using Fs2004. First I got an error message pertaining to FSSound.dll and then an identical one pertaining to SOARrec.dll. They were warning messages. This maybe old news for many and perhaps not required if using some other payware texture package, but for sometime the default lake shore textures bothered me. Yesterday I set out to improve the default lake shore textures and found these great looking replacements. At one point in time there was a utility that you could use to line up aircraft to jetways while making AFCAD files. It was a transparent plane that had the size of a 747, 737 etc stacked by different colors and all you needed to do was line it up at the jetway and you could more or less position planes properly for parking specs. I can't remember the name of this AI plane utility or where I downloaded it. Anyone have an suggestions?

A new behavior has occured in that the default 2D panel view of the Cessna does not load properly. What does load is a greyish blob representative of a virtual cockpit view as if you were looking above. Attempts to toggle the global view do not work as the screen flickers back to the virtual view without the panel. I have extracted the files from the FS2004 install disks 1 and 2 and copied back into my FS folder where applicable as well as copying the gauges back into the gauges folder. I deleted my FS9.cfg file and let the sim rebuild it, but with no joy. Short of reinstalling FS2004, is there another workaround or perhaps something I am overlooking? All was…

Hi all I've recently encountered an issue where, many times, my aircraft tab is greyed out once I've started a flight. This never used to happen & have no idea how it started, but it seems to be related to the fact that now, after landing if I want to select a different aircraft, & the tab is not greyed out, then FS crashes. Does anyone have any ideas?

I may be a very long way behind everyone else seeing as I've not yet invested in REX for FS2004. I was wondering whether I could expect to see much of a performance impact if I were to purchase it? I'm currently using Activesky v6.5 with 256x256 clouds My system is as follows E8500 @3.16GHz 4GB RAM 512MB 8800GT Windows XP When at Heathrow with full AI in a complicated aircraft, full weather from Activesky v6.5 I get frames of around 25-30. With these in mind, would REX offer much more visually to FS2004? Would it conflict with Activesky? And would it have much of a performance impact? Hi people, I just downloaded some flightplans and AI repaints of Aeroflot for Flight Simulator, but when I wanted to install these textures I didn't have the model for the SKJ Ilyushin 96. I searched everywhere on the internet and the for me known AI sites, but it is nowhere to be found. Does anybody know where I can find it? Or could anyone perhaps mail it to me? Hi all I have tried twice to do a flight with the Ilyushin IL-96 airliner. This was designed by Dimitri Samborski (sp?) of Air Simmers. I can't get enough airspeed for take off even at Jacksonille Int'l, FL with fairly long runways. I check fuel load and payload, those numbers seem ok. I notice also for just routine taxiing I have to set throttle to almost 30% with my joystick. The most I can get to is about 110 IAS, for a plane that large, probably should be about 160 IAS. I find no control for elevator trim, but I do set flaps to 5%. If Dimitri is reading this, please advise me on this, it is a great looking plane in the Aeroflot colors. Please tell me what …

Hey guys, I have the Wilco Airbus Evo.1 Pack, and I try to do a repaint for our VA, but there is something really really wrong. I've downloaded the Paintkit directly from Wilco, and making the editing in Photshop CS6. To make sure here is the saving process: In PS Save as: BMP (24 bit), then I use DXTBmp to make it FS9y (saving Extended bitmap) So the problem is when I load the aircraft is FS this is how it looks: And all my graphics on the maximum. Also if I load the aircraft in FSrepaint it shows normally. Can anybody give me some clue whats wrong? Thanks so much

Hello, I have an issue with the Overland SMS A300. While I was test flying the SMS A300-600R in FS2004, I noticed that the SMS A300-600 has a tendency to accelerate too fast on takeoff. I rotate it at about 165 knots, then, after a few seconds after takeoff, it accelerates to almost 200 knots. What can be the problem? I know I posted this previously on flightsim, I did not get suggestions on how to resolve this issue w/ my plane so I thought I might ask it on here.
