Crash To Desktop (CTD) Forum

Hi guys, I have had these CTD's twice in the last 3 flights. Dear friends, I'm getting frustrated: I unistalled and reinstalled PKSim's Lima and now, I'm having a CTD each time at startup. It always happens between 86 and 100%, so I thought AI traffic (I use Alpha India) might be the culprit. But even without AI Traffic, the CTD persists. No idea what might cause it. Sim is P3Dv4.5 HF2. I have also ORBX South America LC installed there. Any help kindly appreciated! Regards Michael

Yesterday, March 11 2021 I downloaded the very recent MSFS2020 update. Ever since that moment, I cannot use the sim. It loads, but when I select departure location and arrival etc then click on FLY the sim gives up and sends me back to my desktop. Tried it online, offline, updated drivers and windows. However, the only flights that do work is the challenges etc. Cant find anything on the net yet. Has anyone heard of this one. Sure glad I kept Prepard3d as a backup. Mike

So i just got the qw b787 for my FSX:SE but whenever i select it from the aircrafts and click fly, it never loads then the sim crash to desktop. Have tried all i could but to no avail. Anything more i can do to solve this issue i really love the aircraft?

When the FSAerodata database is enabled in V5 I have seen a consistent CTD when using any aircraft that uses a default P3D GPS unit. The problem occurs when entering a direct to key entry on the first letter of the desired navigation fix or airport code. The sim will freeze and then close. When the FSaerodata database is disabled the error no longer occurs. This seems to be unique to version V5 including V5.1 as the problem does not exist in V4.5. Posted to the Fsaeodata support forum but did not receive a response. Interested if anyone else has observed this in V5.

I saw one forum on Flight Unlimited III about running on windows 10 but it was closed. I am a new member and can't seem to find any more discussion about it. I'd be glad to hear from others who love this old flight sim and have or are trying to get it to run on windows 10. My Flight III runs almost perfect, great graphics, added planes and packages but the program crashed to the desktop as soon as I land (actually touch down) at an established airport. This doesn't happen on open fields or landing on water in a sea plane. Any help would be awesome. Glad I joined this forum. Hopefully I can hear from some of the other Flight Unlimited III simmers. Hi, I recently installed and uninstalled Navigraph Simlink on my sim and since I have had nothing but problems. I'm running FSX boxed version on Windows 10. I run the sim on a low settings and never had any problems before installing Simlink. Now, FSX won't recognise FSPassengers, see images below. Any ideas for a fix? Hello fellow nerds, I have recently had a problem with flying long-haul flights. Many times when I leave the computer unattended for a long period of time during the flight it gives me either the usual OOM error or a Microsoft Runtime error. Yesterday I flew from Zurich to Tokyo in real time over the whole day (almost 12 hours) and I had no issues at all since I was using my pc over the whole period (mostly watching YouTube or Twitch on Google Chrome whilst keeping an eye on the sim). Hello friends, I'm having 2 problems with P3D V5.1. 1: I can't open my P3D because when I load the scenario it gives a CTD at 1% of the load. 2: When I open the P3D settings menu, it from CTD immediately after closing. I've tried things from many topics, from updating the video card driver to deleting some files in% APPDATA% and etc ... I'm not able to simulate because of these problems, I tried a reinstallation yesterday but the P3D website is OFF and I can't do anything about it. PC specs: i5-7600K RTX2060 Super 8Gb VRAM 16 GB RAM 2 M2 TB SSD one of them where P3D is installed.

Hi all, My FSX crashes every time on VATSIM, just after the takeoff (or few seconds after switching vpilot to mode c). According to event viewer, it is in sim1.dll. I didnt fly online 2 years, vpilot is updated, it is crashing only on vatsim (some textures ? checked in vpilot, looks updated) I have a tons of addons, which can cause this. Hi all, First time poster here. Back in October 2018 I started getting an error out of the blue every time I started up FSX:SE. It says "Flight Simulator was unable to load some program files and will now exit". I have tried to reinstall 4 times (making sure to clear every single trace of FSX:SE that I could when uninstalling) and I've verified file integrity in Steam twice. No issues have shown up when verifying file integrity. At first I thought it was a corrupted file but from what I've seen I'm not sure it is that anymore. Anyone know what could be causing this and how to fix this? Thanks in advance.

Resolved Issue Causing CTD Desktop seconds into a flight. Resolution: Graphics Setting Set Trees to LOW - Anything higher will cause CTD. Since release had the same issue soon as actually start a flight the sim would crash to desktop with no error code. After ensuring everything had the latest drivers and trying multiple configurations discovered that the Graphics Setting Trees on anything but LOW causes the CTD. Everything else can be set to Ultra or High and not cause an issue. Anyway hope this helps someone that might be experiencing the same or similar issue. Good afternoon, I've had the above mentioned error happen twice now. Once was during a flight yesterday. The A319 was in the air on AP flying between VCBI and WMKL. I stepped away from the computer for a couple minutes. When I returned the sim had closed and I was back looking at my desktop. Second was this afternoon. I had just programed the MCDU and was waiting for the boarding process to finish (fuel, passengers, and cargo). Next thing I know P3D had closed. Hello, so I get a CTD when am flying on the FSairlines virtual airline without an error, when I fly offline I also get a CTD upon switching views, it has been happening for a few days after flying for hours then when trying to change views for screenshots then the sim just crashes. What's missing?

Hello, Whenever I get in P3D, start flight and load everything, the sim stops responding a few seconds after loading and closes, with no error message. I didn't find any error message on Event Viewer, neither on Error reporter... I tried every solution I could find, e.g.: Reinstalling the P3D client, moving scenery.cfg, renaming Prepar3D.cfg, renaming dll.xml, removing some addons, etc... Any ideas???

I've not come across this before & this is new: I click User defined weather & then Customize weather. FS9 seizes up & stops then crashes. Weather themes is OK & works as usual. I've not made any changes to FS9 btw. I've looked at other posts for answers but cannot see anything helpful, & don't really know what to look for. Thanks. TerryW

If both these packages are loaded the the community folder in MSFS it appears they will cause a CTD if you attempt to start a flight in the area. I had both packages active and attempted to load a flight at KRNT. After clicking "Fly Now" in the flight planner, the simulator would load and then CTD before the flight finished loading. Disabling any one of these packages in the community folder clears the CTD. Both Orbx and Drzewiecki Designs have been informed on their respective Support Forums.

Hi, Just loaded flight P3Dv4, default FsLab A320 (no livery) and was at Default SBGL scenery at night then got CTD,Faulting module name: ucrtbase.dll. It´s odd because the crash occurs only with P3Dv4, with the SAME situation (acft,scenery,time,etc.) running the P3Dv3 no problems or crashes. Rgds

Hello, i’m new in this forum. Yesterday on the route Amsterdam-Dakar my FSX crashed above Paris. Today i tried to do the same route and... boom above Paris fsx crashed. At the same time on the same route. Can anybody help me? Thank you. (I don’t have any airports addons installed, only GSX) maybe OOM crash?

Hi guys, I've been having this issue a couple times now. During cruise I'll get a notification that P3d has crashed. I will be on autopilot and everything will basically be moving super slowly. Flight controls unresponsive, I am able to disconnect autopilot, it's almost like it is in slew mode but not. This has happened probably 2 out of 10 flights or so. I am running Activesky and vpilot in the background. Thinking maybe a sim connect issue?

Anyone else having this G2D.DLL error in their windows eventviewer after using WMR, with P3D V5 latest build since round about the 9. Oct. 2020 in combination with WMR and a addon like in my case only with Aerosoft A330 or QW 787? With FSLabs I don´t have these issues. Prior the 9. Oct. I didn´t have a single CTD at all.
