hello, so today i installed FSX SE on a completely new device for the first time, when i tried to launch i first encountered an error that said "Failed to start process for Microsoft Flight Simulator X: Steam Edition: "The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail." When using MSFS and started a flight and select outside view and then hold center mouse button (wheel) down and drag mouse around to pan around this is then locked and continues to pan around as I mouse the mouse. I have found that pressing BOTH left asnd right buttons together allows me to 'escape' from panning HOWEVER sometimes it results in MSFS disappearing and all I have left is the desktop. Is this a CTD? Is there as correct way to 'escape' panning after pressing the center mouse button?

About a week ago, I was attempting to fix a crash caused by right clicking after long flights. I tried to fully uninstall and reinstall the game by deleting all of the game files in my computer then uninstalling on steam. I forgot to delete the file located in the Documents folder, but deleted the "FSX" files in the Local and Roaming folders and the FSX folder in the Steamapps folder. Hey all, Over the past few days, I have gotten 3 crashes with P3D, 2 of the crashes were terrain.dll crashes using P3D v5.2 HF1 and the third was a graphics card error after I had updated the drivers to see if that would solve my terrain.dll crashes. The first 2 crashes happened after a view change to the external model followed by my going to translate the camera with ChasePlane. The third was already in the external camera view and then when I went to translate the camera sideways, the sim crashed. Each crash was in a different location in the world. I hadn't played FSX in a few months and decided to hop on today. Upon double clicking the app, I got the splash screen, but after around 3-5 seconds it closes and never actually puts me in game. During the 3-5 seconds, the cursor shows a blue spinning circle. I don't get any errors, and the game doesn't even appear in task manager. I've tried deleting logbook, fsx.cfg, and scenery.cfg. Reinstalled twice. I've gone through the AVSIM CTD Guide, and nothing worked there. All drivers are updated and registry is repaired. I believe I did install some freeware aircraft before, but it worked fine before with them, and I have now removed them with no change apparent.

Resetting the forward view with CTRL+F10 crashes my MSFS when using the Carenado C170. In other airplanes, this has worked OK..

Hi, when I fly my normal FSX with WIN 7,HP, 64 bit, with Intel Core i7 27000 K with 3,5 GHz I always get a CTD because my pc has run out of memory (?) It has 12 GB RAM. Which programs / program parts may I reduce or switch off to avoid these ctd´s.? Thank you for answering me. Regards

I am getting random Crash to Desktops using P3D v4.4, and PMDG 737 NGXu and Pro ATC X,,RAASPRO and FSDT GSX! These are often random, and BTW I am not using any addon scenery from ORBX or anything like that. I use only airport scenery. I am using P3d v4.4, with my favorite PMDG 737 NGXu, FSDT GSX, and RAASPRO. Everything was running fine, when suddenly one morning, when I tried to launch P3D, the loading screen appeared and then it vanished after sometime. I checked task manager and noticed that P3D.exe was running in the background using resources such as RAM (700 MB) and 20% of CPU. and 10 % of my hard drive. I deleted the generated files, the problem was solved! When I re-introduced the addons, I saw that the error occured again. When I disabled RAAS in dll.xml, then P3D loaded up nicely. When I enabled RAAS in dll.xml the problem occured again. So I can conclude there is a problem with RAASPRO. …

Hi folks! I am a new guy in here, with the PMDG 737 NGXu (I love the B737NG so much!) and P3D v4.5. I fly in India, with an Indian airline. Recently, I had added some suspicious scenery to my flight sim, (which probably wasn't a popular scenery, and was made for FSX only). As I installed it, and started flying, I started having Crash to Desktops. Each and every CTDs, occured when I was descending through FL180 to FL150, and at the same geographical waypoint i guess. Can the culprit be the suspicious scenery? I made P3D make a new scenery.cfg and deactivated the old one. Guess what, no crashes. But with the old scenery.cfg it crashes again. So what should I do …

Hello.So my sim had a ctd twice today.Im thinking it could be memory issues, since I have a lot of chrome tabs open and that could be putting a strain on the RAM.I tried closing tabs but my sim crashed while i was taking off.Could there be any possible solutions to this?

I have just installed MSFS 2020 and am having a problem loading flights. On start up I can load a saved flight with no problem using: world map/load-save/load/select flight from folder/open/fly When I then try to load another saved flight it crashes. I used: Esc/load-save/load/select flight from folder/open This closes down the simulator every time. Does anyone else have this problem?

I hand fly a lot of circuits taking off and landing at the same airport and pretty much never get CTDs doing them. On long flights I am getting them about a third of the time, and it's becoming really old now. I've never looked at event manager before, and I don't really know what the info there means, but I have taken screenshots related to my most recent CTD so someone here can hopefully point me in the right direction for a solution. Has anyone else started having CTD when accessing menus in the last two weeks? I have the correct copy (the one that came shipped with FSX-SE) of the Uiautomationcore.dll in the FSX-SE route menu, but I have a terrible feeling that a Win10 update has stopped this “fix” from working. Ran two tests today clicking on different menus while on the ground until CTD and checked the Event Viewer. First time was Ai_player.dll and second time was fsuipc4.dll_unloaded. FSX is well...old. So we figure we can max out all the settings and it'll run great right? FPS seems to show this to be true. After dealing with CTD to the point of pulling my hair out (what was left after dealing with MSFS) I've been doing some reading. My errors pointed towards terrain.dll and atc.dll and of course the viral error thingamajig (been so long since I've seen it I forget the name). What I've done is put all scenery type settings at VERY HIGH (I'll try ULTRA later) rather than slide the slider all the way to the end. I have been using MSFS since last November and it has performed perfectly. All of a sudden I'm getting CTD's and I've been trying to get to the bottom of it. I'm now approaching the point of uninstalling and reinstalling the sim, so I wanted to post this here to see if anyone has any suggestions before I take that plunge... I've updated Win10, I've updated and repaired the sim, I've updated MS Store, I've updated my video drivers, I've emptied out my Community folder and still get CTDs.
