Crash To Desktop (CTD) Forum

I am having a new issue with CTD. It seems like it is related to a specific area in the NE corner of Illinois/SE corner of Wisconsin. It happens if I fly into that area in Free Flight or if I choose an airport in that area on the loader page (CTD a few seconds after finishing the airport selection). I am guessing this is related to a scenery file corruption but the things I have found online for troubleshooting that type of issue haven't helped. I do have FSUIPC installed but the log doesn't show any errors. It doesn't even log the CTD event! Any help would be appreciated.

I've noticed several CTD's when my audio/headphones had issues. For example: I hear glitching or static and the audio program (like corsair) fails. Then the sim fails. I have HyperX Alpha Cloud II Wireless and decided to plug it in (to charge it) and the second that I did, the sim crashed immediately. Trying to use Rex Weather Force 2020 and MSFS 2020 together. I start MSFS 2020 click on fly now, Then I start Rex Weather Force 2020 and it does a CTD. I have "Fair Weather" selected as required by Rex. It's like it won't allow me to run both programs together. Anyone else with this problem or have a solution? Thanks Walt

Hi, I installed the new su 10 update 2 nights ago. Since then the game crashes to desktop. The strange thing is it will load and allow me to choose world map, my airports, and click fly but then once it loads the next screen where it is actually starting to load the flight information and i click fly it crashes at that point. I am guessing it is something to do with map files but not sure how to fix that. I am running win10 Pro 64 bit and nvidia 980 GTX TI 6 GB video card. My system is not win11 compatible so can't update to that. I have tried updating all drivers and windows (I am running the latest updates available for all. When that didn't work i …

I guess the title explains it all. When I have a flight plan loaded up, either VFR or IFR, and I want to review my flight plan on the FSX kneepad, going to the nav log causes the sim to crash to desktop. This only happens when I have a flight plan loaded. It does not occur when I have not loaded a flight plan. I have tried deleting the fsx.cfg file, and the same thing keeps happening. I'm tired of this happening, and I'm about to try and go back to a clean install, but I want to avoid that so I don't have to re-install my added planes and sceneries. Hi, few weeks back, I bought an paywere Prague Airport, LKPR, from ORBIX for the MSFS2020. When I launch the aircraft on a stand it's quiet OK but after I preparde the plane and started pushback it starts to lag. I put down the quality from Ultra to High then to medium i also put down the antistropic filtering, and I rappedly lower the terrain level of detail. But it doesn't help too much. The lags are bigger and longer depends on the speed. After take off the laggs start's to be smaller and sometimes they dissapear but sometimes they also remain the whole flight. I understand many simpilots have experienced the same problem I had which resulted in being unable to fly with online functions turned on. In some cases we were able to fly with particular aircraft with the online services - eg the PMDG DC-6 and the CRJ jets. But in all other aircraft, loading a flight resulted in the simulator hanging with the blue line at approximately 75%. After several months of flying without online scenery or photogrammetry, without live weather or traffic, etc., I stumbled across the solution! My last three attempts to fly T2G KMCO to LatinVFR KFLL have resulted in a CTD with the faulting module being SimObjectAnimationModule64.dll. It looks like this is a SODE dll. I have the latest SODE version 1.71 and also did an update on GSX thinking it may be GSX related (still crashes). I am on P3D V5 with the latest patch. After successfully loading P3D v5, FX2Crew and UGCX into a Scenario the sim crashes when I attempt to disconnect ground equipment. Appreciate any thoughts of why this is happening? Mark Remington

Never really had many CTD's before but today I have had two and not sure if it is a PC issue or an Asobo issue since many people are having a lot of problems with crashing today. Hi, I just got the CS 767 for P3DV4 & P3DV5, when I was done installing, I opened p3dv5, and when I choose the plane and the airport, and when I click ''ok'' to start the flight, the simulator crashs. I thought it was a P3D issue, so I open P3DV5 again, and the same thing happened. Then I decided to install the cs 767 for P3DV4, and after installing. the same thing happens like in p3dv5. I have above the system requirements for P3DV5, p3dv4, and the CS 767. I was going to reinstall p3dv4 & p3dv5 cause of this but I decided to ask avsim.

Hi, I have the following problem, I double clicks on the MSFS icom to start MSFS, while the computer try to load the game, a few second during the loading process it goes back to desktop screen with no error message. After some debuggings, I found out the following, If the above scenario happens, all I need to do is to go to XBOX APP, sign my account out from the XBOX APP, and relaunch MSFS by double click the MSFS Icom again. The computer will then ask me to sign in to my XBOX account during the loading process, and after I click to sign in, MSFS will then continues to load and launch successfully. Hello Everyone - Just one more message about what many of us are apparently suffering from - constant CTDs with MSFS 2020. It is so frustrating to try and use a sim that has such exciting features and beautiful graphics, but, at least from my experience, is so very unstable. Hi, I got P3D like a week ago, It was working 100% like normal and I installed the qw 787, and other freeware 787s, and PMDG 737s and pmdg 777 and pmdg 747s and it worked fine. After doing a flight with the PMDG 777 I closed that flight I closed P3D and I decided to do a flight with the QW 787 in the next day, and when I did try to change airports and clicked ''OK'', P3D crashed. I launched P3D and tried to change the airport and the same thing happened. I didn't re-install P3D, I wanted to ask avsim about this. Thanks

Hello all, I have been away from flight simulator since 2020. I plugged in recently about 2 weeks ago and have installed my digital Microsoft Store version of MSFS 2020 Premium Deluxe (Game of the Year) about a dozen times and keep having problems. Some I may have caused myself when I purchased and installed 3rd party software. It would give me a popup while loading saying that the 3rd party may not be updated and it would end the program. Hello All! Unfortunately I'm getting a CTD every time I try to use my PMDG MD11 in FSX SE. I'm using FSWWX along with it and no other addons or scenery. Ive been following (https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/500466-hresult-0xc000014b-ctd/) as this person had the same exception thrown. The AVSIM CTD guide as well does not have the error that I'm being thrown (pasted below). Ive installed both vcredist_x8 and vcredist_x6 along with the C++ 2005 service packs. Since SU8 MSFS worked very fine for me. However since this morning MSFS causes CTD's within 15 sec's after start up. I don't have a clue what is causing this, as MSFS worked perfectly up to yesterday, and when I exited the program as usual without an indication of an issue. The only difference with yesterday is that I got a message from F-Secure that it quarantained a file that was identified as a LINUX file and named a trojan horse. Whatever I tried I can't get MSFS to start, whereas P3D, XP11 and DCS work flawlessly. I don't understand if there at all can be a realtionship between the F-Secure message and the CTD's!?
