After a lot of hair pulling and hitting my self in the head I released a mission. It took a lot of time and work and I wish to make it better in the future. It would be cool to hear some feedback for it. I want to make sure if actually works on others computers. Its entitled

I was very surprised when I was not able to find any firefighting missions for FSX. I imagined that with the FSX mission engine, missions where yo get to fly a tanker and put out fires, drop fire crews and generally load and unload the plane's fire retardant would be abundant. Yet, all I could find was a chopper based mission that unfortunately (for me) has a non functioning Helo to boot (The tail rotor is missing and evidently is not just a visual bug)I remember reading a fascinating book written by a tanker pilot recounting the many adventures and the difficulty of flying planes over raging fires. Anyone else encoutner when flying the flour power mission, that the mission will end with an OBJECT CRASH when there clearly is no object in the air that we we are running into ?Dan

I have dowloaded, installed and flown a mission called "Lake Tahoe Rescue" - in which you are supposed to locate an upturned boat in Lake Tahoe. I first became aware of this mission in the now-defunct FSxMissions.com and I think I downloaded it from AVSIMAnyway, the download is missing a PLN file and the Sim complains that it is missing - but it doesn't really matter. BUT - I cannot find any upturned boat - and looking at the download, it does not contain any scenery BGL (which I thought would be necessary to place a boat in a lake?) Or is it another thing missing from the download?Anybody else got this one?Thanks Barry

I have a three questions on missions.1. How do I switch back and fort from Object placement tool (Mission development) and testing. There is a keyboard command..I forget what it is. 2. How do I set my mission so users can change the weather and change the aircraft. What and where do I need to change settings for this?3. How do I save my mission as a general flight. I've spent the last few weeks making improvements to this mission. Added are new introductory scenes, quite a few fixes to the existing scenes, and incorporating actual Washington D.C. Some time ago, I downloaded a mission from Hovercontrol.com ( which looked like it was supposed to be the first of a series - but which now looks like it may be the last?) - called CGAdventures.It takes you on a tour of a number of campsites in the mountains. At one of these campsites (on the shore of a river with a small jetty)it says to land near the end of the jetty.I landed - and did so in several places, but can't get the mission to accept the landing and move on.You would have to have flown this mission to know what I am sayingThanks for any helpBarry

Monsoon Approach is one of my favorite missions in FSX ... and that's saying something because I usually don't like to fly IFR and I usually don't prefer the heavies.But this mission is such a challenge that it's sickly compelling. I've finally figured out what I think is the best approach for solving this mission, but I'm still not pleased with my landings. Typically, I will deactivate the autopilot at about 2 or 3 times my decision height so that I can hand fly the landing. I use the autopilot up to that point, and even let the AP handle the approach down to about 2x or 3x DH.At that point, I tend to want to fly the aircraft to get the experience of flying in this type …

I can't seem to get the final landing... it always sees it as a crash. I'm there in plenty of time. I'm in a stabilized hover (0.0 knots) just feet above the landing spot, set it down gently, all wheels on the pad, and then... "CRASH!"Is there anything else I need to know about this?

This little freeware mission has a lot going for it. It's still one of my all-time favorites. Has anyone sucessfully completed this tutorial? Aside from the way the EH101 handles after I pick up the load of crates, they start swinging wildly, no matter how slow I go?As I was looking at actual slingload videos online at youtube they have a 4 point sling, using a single line is like creating a pendelum effect to me.Anyone have any hints?Thanks

HIDownloaded and installed the mission per instructions. Now I just sit and look at the helo waiting for the co-pilot to say something.Fuel state is at 2 percent. Like the briefing said, follow your co-pilot's instructions. Maybe my co-pilot is at the bar or something.Has anyone else had this issue?In short. Misson shows up, mission loads and then na da. So... how am I supposed to maintain zero G if I dont have a G meter that works? I think there is one in the PFD, but if I try to put that on zero G or anywhere near it, I constantly get a message from the co-pilot "Okay we didn't maintain zero G for 20 seconds"... how am I supposed to do this?

I am wonder if I am getting a visual bug here or if they just mess things up when you enter the triangle... When I turn 180 degrees to start my search pattern after passing the vor the screen the vc goes all blue? fixing the lights fixes that but three times in a row while messing with the lights I have managed to overspeed and overstress the aircraft lol

First at all many thanks to all the people is creating free missions for FSX.I think microsoft made a great job implementing the mission machine in FSX. I love the way than you copy some files in the correct folders and... magic a new mission is ready. No install, no exe, no dll. That is great. My FSX is never degradated. No dirty files. I can control every change on my computer and uninstall the missions once i enjoy it.Recently has become popular a new format to delivery missions: MSI format. I dont like this method. You lost every control over what happens in your computer: What archives are copied or deleted ?. What config files are modified?. Entire FSX can break if …

Hi allI just downloaded from the avsim library the Find the tanker mission. As per the instructions I copied the folder to my Just for fun folder and then booted up FSX. The mission doesnt show up on my missions anywhere. Anyone else having the same problem?Don

Well I went to the missions section and began with takeoff of a chopper. Oh I got it to ascend and descend using the throtle f3 and f4 keys. But as soon as you move it sideways the chopper becomes unstable and always likes to nose downward. Then you try to correct this and the chopper loses throttle. I have yet to complete this simple mission. Is there a bug in this sim?

I have been searching some already posted message about this mission, but I couldn't find anything regarding this:You are supposed to land on rwy 2C after a tough approach according to the text. But there are only two runways at that airport, 2L and 2R!The ILS is directing you to the 2R as well as the GPS. Even the green mission pointer is showing you to rwy 2R!But when I land the B747 at rwy 2R, I first get a "Success" green message. After a couple of seconds, there is the red "Failure" message!Does anyone know if this is a bug, or.....?Thanks in advance!Haraldh F.

Having completed an add-on mission (and gotten the green tick) - is it just a simple matter of deleting the mission from the mission folder?Thanks Barry

I am new to Microsoft flight sim X. My problem is I know how to fly around pretty good with my Cosair and I am able to locate airports for starting off. But the problem is how do you find great sites to see in the sim when thye are not listed in the flight sim? Like I had to really fly around a lot just to find niagara falls and the pyramids outside of Cario. Is there a web link which locates the location of all these great sites in the US and worldwide. I mean with the airports to start from and what heading to set your compass at? I need all the help I can get.thanks
