FSX | P3D Missions Forum - How To

How can you specify that you want a rectangle area to be above the ground? Whenever I create them, they are always at ground level. I want to build ones that you could fly under.

I've tried 5 times to get to the aiport after picking up the object at the "snake" ruins. I can't even make it within 15 miles of the airport. The airport is at 3700'. the highest I can get is 4700' then all heck breaks loose. How'bout a tip or two;) Also can you change the type of aircraft in the missions? Bob McDuff

Guys PLEEEZ help here: I've flown DAYS of attempts to try and find the "Friend", but can only find and rescue the Yacht Captain. I've grid searched the whole Tasman Sea until the co-pilot tells me we've left the search area and must start again at Piha!VERY frustrating now. Normally I like to find my own way out of a tight spot. Please tell me where this "Friend" is.

Well done to those that completed Austrian Soaring - Day 2. That was a straight ridge run from the same airfield as the stock Austrian Alpine Soaring FSX mission.Now we've moved on to Day 3 of the competition, still in the Austrian Alps flying the DG808S from Zell am See (LOWZ). This course is a little more challenging with probably a more interesting route than Day 2, with a mix of ridge-running and thermalling skills required. Wind is a brisk 18 knots from the NE, and the ridges are working. There is sink in the lee of hills for the unwary and, although there are plenty of thermals, to get the best time you have to take risks and consider your route carefully.Download…

Is it possible to set conditions for a property trigger using sim variables such as NAV DME?I'm experimenting with firing a dialog action a certain DME distance from a VOR. I've been setting it to fire with entry into an area definition but I'm looking for an easier way.Thanks,Jerry

I have absolutely no voice commands coming from the FO or ATC on any of the missions. I have to pull up the kneeboard just to see what everyone is saying, I've tried the Amsterdam to London mission, the Quito Ecuador approach, etc. and none of them have any voice. The only voice I get are from the following missions: the very first one with the ultralight (I was just trying it out to see if it had voice) and that mission where you race the jet truck at Oshkosh but all I hear is the announcer; In the briefing it says that a stunt coordinator or someone like that is supposed to talk to you but all I hear is the announcer of the air show.A few months ago I downloaded the …

That is where I am stuck. I have successfully "landed" about 10 to 15 times on this pad, but each time:It is a collision with object,and the yatch keeps going and disappear from under my chopper.As anyone got some info on why it does that?Cause when I "crash" according to it, I hit the pad, more or less centered.Any advise? I'm not usually an idiot when it comes to installing addons in to FS, but no matter what I do, I can't get the Object Placement Tool to work - it doesn't even appear in the toolbar. I have scoured the Forums but can't find a solution. I think the problem is that I use a partitioned hard drive with FSX on D: (D:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFSX). I put the dll.xml file into c:Documents & SettinsAll UsersApplication DataMicrosoftFSX as suggested in the SDK, but no joy. Does anyone know the correct syntax for dll.xml so it looks in the right spot?Any other suggestion VERY welcome!!Peter

my question/problem is... I'm flying the "Civil Air Patrol" mission and for some reason I can't get past the moutains... my airplane is losing power somehow.... anyhelp would be superfly!

It would seem to me to make since to have a place where ppl could go on and ask about the FSX Missions and get some help with them... Seems like a whole section could be devoted to such a section... or do none of you guys play the missions because the older versions of the GAME didn't really come with missions so, it seems, the community created mods and everyone's using those...?But hey.. I want to be able to calculate my v-speeds, takeoff data, landing data, etc a little more accurately but I cant find a sim version of the lear 45 handbook. I know there is a generic one here in the library but that is not what I was looking for.Anyone know where I can find a more detailed one?

Hello. I seem to be having quite a few problems with the Mission Amazon Trek, and I was wondering if my mission has become corrupt or it is something else. I'd also like to say I did read the post below regarding this mission and I can't seem to get that far.The mission began without incident, although **SPOILERS AHEAD** when I did the first water landing at the village, I took a bit of a hard landing. I then taxied to pick up supplies. After I loaded up, my rudder stopped working. It seemed to get stuck all the way to the left. I reloaded the game and then it was pointing straight and working, but there was no animation of it moving at all. I also had a very difficult ti…

I have several problems on this mission:1. The rudders don't work. I have autorudders off and I've checked the configuration.2. I can't slow down to land - brakes don't seem to work at all3. I'm not sure my landing gear is extending. I don't hear any noise or see any indicator light. When I do press the button for landing gear I get a noise and 'Mast warning'4. The voice over command keeps saying that I'm below the assigned altitude of 11 000 feet on the approach to land!I'm using a Saitek X-52 Pro. I hope someone can help!Many thanks!

I want to add a Beech58 in a mission I am making.. starting from parking and then taxi to the runway..I assume I can add any aircraft included in FS X in an AI mode?The code so far is like this.. and for some reason the 58 will not show up.. Beech58N53

Can you tell me if in the mission object tool exist a specific istruction (for example as the old Fs2002 language : if (fix coordinates) < 20mn then play x.wav) ??? Now i have created a mission that start on air, after 5 seconds start a first wav, then at about 20 miles from a vor would be start a second wav...please, help me! Missions. London to Amsterdam.The ILS needle at the destination airport does not move on intercept. It stays right where it is. I can confirm that I have the frequency and course set correctly, and am on the correct intercept course. I have hit all the waypoints as instructed.Regards,Tim

It is a general setting, but I'm working with a Beechcraft King Air 350 in this case.While the bugs will move if you stop what you are doing and mouse click on them this is not particularly satisfactory. The "Settings" section of X provides a given keyboard command (not much better) AND the ability to assign the Heading and/or VSI bug control to a button.....Neither the keyboard system not the setting it to a button on either a CH Yoke or a CH Throttle Quad works.Is there a way around this.

Anyone else experience this problem? I'm waiting to taxi and listening to my instructor as I'm watching a 747 come in for a landing, and then, qapooie! ;( I tried to restart my machine and the same thing happened in nearly the same spot, Bug?~Mega

I download the SDK for builing a new mission.In the XML, can i use the encoding is UTF-8 ? i type something can use in the games by UTF-8, except the position coordinate.for example:(header)<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>this can not use in the game: N34

Almost 30 years in I.T. and I cannot figure out how to install the mission creation tool.I have followed all the known info about the tool install and I cannot get the "Oboect Placement Tool" screen to be found.I have been very careful to edit the dll.xml and to make sure it is in the proper folder as directed in the setup info. I did a generic install to default folders of FSX and the SDK. I have even tried putting in the explicit path to the object I want in the dll.xml file.When I run FSX there is no new tool catagory to choose from or any "Object Placement Tool" and I can not figure out where I am going wrong.After years and years of I.T. on big ole mainframes, going …

Hi folks,I've searched the forum for issues with the Airport Landing Trigger and I see it a post by PC12 that there may be issues with it.Has anyone experienced this issue using the trigger - populating the airportident property causes another airportident property to be listed. This is behavior is occuring for me. I've deleted the airport landing trigger and readded with the same results.Any suggestions, other than using the area landing trigger?I'm attempting to recreate the solo long cross country flight I had to fly for my PPL.Regards,Bob
