First post on Avsim.I see there is mention of some add-on missions for FSX filtering through now, I'm almost completed all the boxed, de'luxe version FSX missions and looking for more. As I understand users and third partys can make their own now, will they be of the quality of the original MS ones that use voice acting?Maybe we can have a sticky that lists good ones.In the mean time, what good missions that have been released by third party, are available? Honestly, really enjoyed the missions in box and would pay for quality ones that are similar.

Hello all, I've just started to use the object placement tool that comes as part of the mission creation SDK. Unfortunately I'm seeing a serious problem that makes it effectively useless.The problem is that, when I reload the scenery file on a subsequent session, many of the objects do not appear correctly.Here's an example of the problem:1. I place a collection of buildings.2. I save it as scenery and also as a mission with a different name (just in case).3. If I immediately click NEW and re-load the scenery file then the buildings still appear correctly.4. I then exit FSX, run it again, start the tool and re-load the scenery file.Many of the buildings do not appear cor…

I had a frustrating time attempting to move a dock this morning.. In the end I was moving between desktop and FSX editing XML and latitude with a text editor.Dan anyone lay out how to select, grab and move an object step by step, or is there a tutorial somewhere.. preferably with images?

Hi all,I'm trying to work my way through the tutorial, but I've hit a stumbling block. My five wav files are recorded, and I've created the trigger event with the provided settings (as far as I can see.) When the first wav file is supposed to play, I see the caption come up, but don't hear the voice.The properties of the file say it's 8 bit mono, 22kHz sampling rate.Any ideas what the issue could be?

I have FSX installed on a separate hard drive to the one XP is on. My Documents is also installed on this second HD which is where my saved flights are kept. If I were to format my HD with XP on it, would I lose all my rewards? I realise that I will probably have to do a re-install for FSX as all the registry keys will be lost too. I only ask in this forum as I am concerned about losing all my rewards. Maybe there is some way of backing them up!

I just flew a mission in FSX called " Tokyo Executive Transport". In it I flew a Bell jet ranger and picked up 3 passengers from a heliport in Shidome and then flew them to Tokyo Narita Intl Airport, after landing at Narita I thought the mission was over but got a surprise. I will not tell you what it is because I did not finish it have to go back and rerun, check it out but don't tell the secret!Happy Flying, Good Job Microsoft!!!Danny

The Mission SDK is pretty good at describing the RidgeLift object, and one of its attributes is AirObjectModelGuid which can refer to the GUID of a scenery object to include wherever the RidgeArea appears. I was flying the first helicopter mission to get my aluminum rotors. I completed no problems. Being the curious person that I am(we know this kills the cat eventualy). I flew back the the carrier escort group. The instructor mentioned that I would be landing on the carrier in a future mission. Being the daring person that I am. I flew behind the group and procided to the left ageus cruiser. Island side. Even though they are moving at a really good clip I decided to land on the helo deck. I did a good job I think. How do I create a keypress action... so that when the user clicks on a MENU popup item an in game action is generated.. like "request pushback" (SHF P) ? thanks

The Mission SDK gives the RectangleArea Orientation parameter as:"Heading, Pitch and Bank, or orientations about the three axis, in degrees." implying (xml tags simplified):RectangleArea...... Orientation.... heading, pitch, bank ../Orientation.../RectangleAreaBut I seem to have heading controlled by the LAST element of the Orientation value. Pretty darn fundamental but can anyone else confirm this?? Every mission designer must be using RectangleArea objects...

I was attempting to use this trigger at an airport instead of a proximity trigger.. but it doesn't seem to work as I thought it would. I linked a rectangle area of course. So.. what is the intention of this trigger? Is there a time to use it rather than a proximity trigger?

Have any of you experienced large black box being displayed in some of the missions. They seem to be positioned over locations related to mission goals. I wonder is it glitch in the FSX program or my PC.Although they help by indicating where to head for they make completing the mission impossible or at least very dificult.I have attached a couple of screen shots.Any suggestions on how to remove them?

I make the landing to pick up the doctors, and told to park on the east side of the runway near the tent. Running ahead of schedule, park next or near tent. I do not hit it! I select to load equipment and both times mission fails. At this point I cannot do anything else except end the mission or refly. Am I not supposed to pick up the equipment? No indication as to why the mission fails. Bug? First time I selected to pickup and failed immediately, 2nd time, started to taxi to south end of runaway then suddenly fails. Help appreciated.Mark

I'm looking for someone (or more) who would be interested in joining up to create simple missions for each other. I'm in the process of learning how to create a mission and was hoping to find someone who would be interested is swapping missions to each others likes.I would love to do CAP missions (like finding downed planes or lost campers) and/or do remote drop off and pick up (mostly using the Maule on ski's somewhere in the snow) missions in the Anchorage, AK area.
