First, I am just an FSX fan. I don't post here a lot, but read this and other MSFS forums almost daily. when FSX first appeared on the FS scene, I remember being enthralled with the included missions. It seemed to me to be a tremendous avenue for making FSX more real-world like and appealing. There seemed to be unlimited potential for some really excellent FS experiences via scripted missions.It seems that I was mistaken in that there are not really that many new missions being developed.I deliberately did not post this in the missions section of the forum because I want to get opinions from FSX fans who are not mission designers.What is the general feeling as to why …

Hi I have tried this mission about 5 times but always end up ditching about 5 miles from Mali, using -1700Ft/Min descent. I can make it to the other airport fine.Is is even possible to make it to Mali?Thanks

Okay folks, hopefully sufficient time has passed for the majority of people to realise there is a very interesting extended "secret mission" tagged on to the end of Tokyo Executive Transport. Its mentioned in other threads here, so I don't think I'm spoiling the surprise!I've chased the Challenger jet and got very close to what I think is the "end". I'm near a group of islands that forms a kind of penninsula. The Challenger suddenly vanishes and my British Agent friend says something like "I think we lost him, but keep looking around". Hi folks,I tried to use the Night Flight mission. I am sitting in my Cessna 172 cockpit on the apron, but the mission won't start. So on pressing ESC I am presented with the usual "end of flight" menu (see image below), but not with the "mission objectives" dialog you would expect for a mission. This is the first and only mission (I have installed quite some dozens) that this happens. Can anyone give me a hint to where I should look for the problem? So you've played the redbull mission to death because it is so much fun and you're looking for something different...... So what can you try?I'm sure it's been tried before, but if you haven't given it a go, try the redbull mission with the SF260 (if you have it). A real challenge! Just don't forget to lower the gear for the touch-n-go. If you can do that, then try it in the R22. Although I can get it to go vertical, I can't seem to get past the knife-edge gate.....

Hi, I have uploaded my first FSX mission I created to the library. Chase a remote plane through hilly scenery before it hits a town.get close to it and activate it to return home.Its called the chase and its in the FSX missions section.Please let me know what you think of it.CheersGraeme

HiLooking to see if anybody else has had the same proplem as I with this mission.Things go along well untill I get to the part where your driving your Volvo truck thru the grove of trees with the elephants walking thru them. As I start to enter the grove in the middle of the road, I keep getting a crash, and not hitting anything that I can see.I've disabled crash detection, drove in the middle of the road, the right side and tryed to zig zag into it and still the same results.As I start to enter at a very low speed....whamo...crash each time. I emailed the creator of the mission and he told me just what I've told you...middle of the road to enter and then drive ride side…

I created a static aircraft scenery object using the FS9 tools. I was able to successfully place it in FS9 using EZ Scenery. Now I want to place it into an airport in FSX, using the Object Placement Tool - then compiling it with that Abacus utility.How would I get the Object Placement Tool to find my bgl? It doesn't show up in the list, and there doesn't seem to be a way of browsing for a path to library objects.

I have tried the floatplane mission several times but when I land to pick up the passenger I always get stuck against the jetty and can't reverse out again. I looked on Google to find out how to reverse and it seems that you use shift + P, but whenever I use that key combination I am told that "the tug service is not available at this airport". Am I doing something really stupid or is there another way to go into reverse?Thanx in advance

In the original zip file I forgot to add some .bgl files. Without them those flying it will not find the two new airports in Belize. MZ33 and MZ99.I have added an Update today.....please excuse the ommision.Hope you enjoy the "odd" SAR....If you have any ideas of otheradventures I would appreciate a word or two on them.Thank YouGera ;-)

Hi all (again!),I have almost completed a Mission but have one lingering issue I can't seem to resolve.I created an xml file in Notepad (saving as an xml file) using the information on Rewards in Step 11 of the SDK. After puttering with FSX for about two weeks, new joystick, add-ons, etc., I ran across an old backup cd from FS2004 with Doherty's Difficult and Dangerous Approaches. Forgot all about them. I think I had only gotten through maybe 10% of them if I can recall correctly, and my FS2004 program is long gone and would rather not install FS2004 just for these.I know this may be a stupid question, but is there any way, hope, possibility that these missions can/could be converted to run with FSX? I loved those! ( did try every folder/file combination possible, I think, and Googled a lot)John

OK, I'm basically done with this mission, however ... I cannot seem to land in the right spot to get the mission to accept that I've made it. I've flown back to home base, and landed and stopped right next to the ambulance. I've tried spinning around in the spot so I'm facing forward, I've tried parking on all sides of the ambulance ... I went to the hangar ... I shut down the engine to be sure that wasn't the problem.All for naught -- the mission status stills says that I haven't completed the mission because I landed in the wrong spot. What obvious thing am I missing?thanks;-rob.

I haven't really tinkered around with auto land before, but I am able to get AP to line up with the runway. I just don't know how I'm supposed to know how much to descend in zero visibility. So is there a way for the AP's FD to do a vertical guide too?I hope this makes sense...This is in the 747 Landing in a monsoon! :)

I have placed a jpg chart into the images folder of the Mission I am creating so it would appear in the HTML Mission briefing file. But it doesn't display - I just get the blank box with the red cross.I tried changing it to a BMP but still no joy.Does anyone know the required format/size etc. for it to appear?ThanksPeter

I am having trouble finding a way of converting the WMA sound files that the Vista Sound Recorder creates, to the WAV files that he Missions Object Placement Tool requires.Am I missing something?! I have tried a few 'free' downloads but they all clip the files & they sound awful. Is there a good freeware convertor out there?CheersPeter

I have completed a full search of this forum prior to posting this question...Can anyone please tell me, when you make your first landing at the tent camp what to do or where to go??I land and nothing happens, I move around and nothing happens, I hit a tent I FAIL!!! I recently decided to try changing the mission file to make it so, instead of flying the mission in the DC-3, you fly it in the CRJ-700. I tried flying it today and it worked! Plus it was lots more fun and I even made it to Lubero (the last destination. If you fly it with the DC-3 you lose an engine and can't make it). Hi all,I have a random problem with the secret shuttle mission. More than half the time I never get the "descend to 6000 ft" message. I also will get the message "we're too far north" after I've received "the gear down, flaps set, on short final" and clearance. The parts that fail, in no particular order, are:1) after the turn up Immigrant Valley (heading 010), nothing more except the radio EMI.2)on heading 010, at FL140, after clearance to land and "just keep on heading 010 for now"...and nothing further3) on heading 010, FL140, cleared to land, gear locked and flaps, ... no descent, no turnI can strong-arm the thing into landing, taxi to the parking spot, but never get…

Hey everyone, I posted last night on the normal FSX forums and think this post would be better here. OK, I want to fly the African Relief Mission, but instead of the DC3, I want to use the new Alphasim Pavellow 53. I found a post on another site about replacing the aircraft name in the sim section of the flight file, but no matter what I do,I either get aicraft initialization failed, and loads the tricycle ultra light, or the heli loads from the beginning of its start sequence, and then keeps trying over and over to start and the blades never start to turn. Hey everyone, I have been messing with the missions as I really enjoy having the voices interacting with the flight. This has given the sim enjoyment factor a little kick. OK, I have been trying to complete the Civil Air search mission without success. As I approach leg#1 and turn to 270 degrees there are some higher peaks that must be cleared, however, if I try to fly the Maule at that altitude, the airspeed drops to the point of a stall, or close to it. I end up crashing into the mountain no matter what. I have the mixture as lean as I can for this altitude. I have tried flying at about 6,500 then trying to gain airspeed to climb over the top, but again I crash. Is ther…
