FSX | P3D Missions Forum - How To

By starting one of Gera's newest mission: "ISLAS EXPRESS" using the nice" Percival-Prospector"(STOL /UL-plane), I heard no engine-sound and flightfeeling was like a mulish muli. After replacing the panel to C172+ autopilot and adding sound from a "Turbulent" (same download-site---sounds like a mix of helicopter and harley-davidson) all was more comfortable. Airfields are more than short, really achallenge ! skybolt66. :(

I have a problem with my dll.xml file, i think: I would like to edit missions and traffic by myself, since its a major portion of the fun for me. Somehow though the needed tools won't load. :( I installed the SDK, the dll.xml in application data is there it should be and everything seems right, but nothing loads :( neither object placement nor traffic tools. Anyone has an idea, what could went wrong? Hi guys, Just wondering if it's possible to change an aircraft in the missions?Particulaly Just Flights Rescue Pilot Mission Pack. I.e. In the just flight rescue pilot missions the helicopter is the default Bell 206 Jetranger just with a repaint. Is it possible for me to swap the Jetranger for my Nemth Design EC-135? The UK have never operated a Jetranger for any type of rescue, especially Air Ambulance as its not twin engined. I know Just Flight had to release it with it but just cant stand the damn thing. Reall new to modifying FSX in anyway, added plenty of aircraft but only learnt how to add textures last night so if any one does know how and can give me n answer plea…

After flying GERA's newest Australia-missions 1+2, I have to pay respect to the distinctive refinements !Only one little lack of understanding: Using the "Citation I-500" in mission 1 is o.k. But why must the"DHC6-300 Twin-Otter" in mission 2 be installed, when a"CL 115" is encluded (=> FLT-file)? The Canadair-sound is a little more comfortable. Hi there, completed almost all the missions so far and took a break from FSX for a month or so. Just got back into it and have been trying to complete payload recovery mission with no luck but plenty of frustration. I've had the same saved game I've been playing from each time I load the mission. I start right when it's announced that the Russians are coming and from there I have about 45 seconds-1 minute to connect to the payload before it blows up. I would say I have played this same 45-60 seconds around 200 times so far and only managed to hook it up one time and it flew off in a second or 2 due to chopper being all over the place. I am having a tough time getting the carrier landings done... The nose keeps slamming down hard enough to warrant a crash... am I just approaching too slow? Should I come in faster/flatter?

Hi all,Is it possible to edit one of the default missions? I really enjoy racing the Red Bull practice course, but the touch-and-go takes away from the realism. I am more than willing to study up on how to do the work myself, I just wondered if it is possible so that I know whether or not to put forth the effort.

Many simmers have written me about my "FSAdventureSky" flights and have asked me when I would make more "Missions".....I like the "Open" structure of "Flights" since I have always thought they are more challenging plus you can do them in whatever sequence you want and under any weather condition---- well I might be wrong!!!!!!!--- I spent the last month or so fooling around with the Mission SDK and have finally "gotten" the "feeling" of this horrendous dis-articulated procedure which was probably conceived in a nightmare!!!!!!!......anyway, I have been able to make a mission with animations, sounds and intricate situations!!!!!......and it looks Nice!!!!!!!!..........I gu…

I don't know how long its been, because its been some time since I have flown a mission. But when I opened up the missions interface, they have all disappeared. No mission for any of the difficulty categories.Is there something in the cfg that could have been inadvertently turned off? I don't even know what folder to look in. If there is supposed to be a missions folder in the root directory, I don't see it.I could give a list of all the addons, etc. But I thought I first would put out a general question, in case someone has had this happen before.I searced the data base and couldn't find any info? I remember Flight Unlimited II or was it III had some good ones, one mission in particular had a guy hijack the plane and had a bomb wired up that would go off if the speed and altitude went below or above a stated level, they obviously got the idea from the film called Speed, maybe hijacking would not be a great idea in todays climate though?I'd like to see more search and rescue ones, as well as cloak and dagger stuff like Tokyo Executive, perhaps a mission dealing with a bird strike and engine loss as well, what about you guys? what kind of missions would you like?

I recently installed acceleration pack and flew some missions with several saving in order to get the sucessfull landing.On the mission menu I decided to delete the older saved mission and I noticed that all the saving missions disappeared !!No way to recover them , nothing in the windows basket !Is this a bug with Acceleration pack ?

Hi AllI'm flying the Aerosoft Lear Jet Mission.Once I get the message to divert from Linate to Bergamo and to expect vectors for rwy 28, I get another message saying to fly heading 284 and tune to 108.70, which I do. And then down to 6000 ft.The Airport ID is ORIO and I fly along waiting for additional instructions and hit a mountain on the heading I was given.Did I miss something here?Am I not supposed to land at Bergamo like the co-pilot said?I make the switch from gps to nav as instructed but keep flying the heading of 284. I confess that the Lear is not a plane I fly alot.Thanks for reading this and for any help with this mision.RegardsErnest

good day it seems the file is bugged , the mission won't load " as a mission" but a freeflight( got the hangar and everything fine) , the mission simply won't trigger when pressing " escape" i got the "free flight" window ( end flight/continue flt/ view flight analysis) and NOT the mission window where all goals are normally listed (with status pending/completed/failed) anybody got the same problem? maybe dave crandall is in the area ? thx in advance

Carsten,This is a very nicely done mission ... however, there is a problem with the FLT file that will prevent people from enjoying your mission. Your FLT file contains an incorrect reference to the GPS Flight Plan, which is required for this mission to work correctly.In your .flt file, look at the section called: GPS_EngineThen, check the Filename= line in this section.Remove the reference to your C: drive. Has anybody completed this mission?I get to the lake with no problems and plop down in the water like a duck, unload, take on dummy with broken leg. Taxi to far end of lake to give me longest takeoff run and crash each time. There is just not enought lenght to take off in. By the time I get to other end of lake, I've only got around 60 knots IAS showing. I've tryed flaps/no flaps.Full rich/lean. Max rpm's and 100 per cent power and still put more planes into the trees than Charley Brown and his kites. Mission uses the default De Hav Beaver and lake is around 2700 ft in the White Mts of NH.RegardsErnest

Wondering if anyone has downloaded the simcopter mission.I can't seem to get it to work. The helo loads in the right place but there is no associated scenery or sound. ie the mission doesn't seem to initiate.I have downloaded the update.Thanks,~DAVE

If you like flying the ultra-light and decide to fly the Game Park Patrol mission,Then if you have trouble finding the elephant, I can tell you up front that your ranger passenger is confused. After you reach the truck, he tells you to turn and go back the way you came. Don't listen to him. When he says Northeast, Fly due Southwest. He will say your out of the search area but disregard what he says. The elephant is just a few miles southwest of the truck.If you listen to everything that is said, the girl ranger says "The elephant was last seen just a little south of there along the road". I finally delivered the pulley to the summit, and flew back to the airport. However, when I land, nothing happens, except the guy says something like "are you ready to get going?" or something like that, implying that he wants to take-off rather than land.Any idea how to get the mission to end? I am 0.0nm away from the mission destination.Thanks!

I can't find the helicopter anywhere...can anyone help?This is using Aerosoft's Lukla add-on.

This might be a dumb question, but in the Avalanche Rescue mission, I have trouble with the helicopter losing power and sinking, even when I'm at full throttle. A red warning light and a yellow warning light are lit in the cockpit, and I don't know why (and I can't read them--they're blurry).It's probably something obvious, but I'd appreciate anyone's help.Thanks
