Being a long time user of VoxATC and flying many long-haul flights with the PMDG 747-400X (FSX) I noticed many times that, when approaching the destination, things started to slow down significantly. On the last several flights I made, I watched closely the windows-task-manager and saw a progressive raise in memory-usage by VoxATC (apart from being pretty much a system-hog as it is).So what I do now is stop and reload VoxATC when approaching the last part of the flight, to free memory. In this way I can make the final approach and landing smoothly.I use:Windows XP SP3 (with3 GB memory switch); FSX; Ultimate Terrain (Europe, USA, Canada), Ground environment X (USA, Canada,…

The new show/hide taxiway add-on is very useful, but it's almost useless at night. I'm flying the PMDG 747 X (FSX) and have installed the Xeon taxi-lights, but I'm still having a hard time finding my way to the runway at night. Is there a way to make the purple cones/arrows that show the right taxi-route clearly visible in the dark? Any other suggestions, besides using the landing-lights (not very realistic and also generating a penalty in FSPassengers X) or not-flying-in-the-dark? JanEHGGthe Netherlands

New user and a little puzzled how Vox manages AI. Im using AierNav to generate the Traffic files and while I can see a/c on the ground, taxing and landing etc. I rarely see a plane while in the air. ATC is constatly talking and vectoring the AI, but especially at night, the skies look empty.

Hi,I had VoxATC for FS9 however now I switched platform to FSX for good. Wanna download the trial version for FSX however it is unclear which one to try.There is a download link for 'with voice recogniton - not Vista' and 'for VISTA - without voice recognition'. However it also states that 'If you are running Vista or you have a SAPI 5.1 compatible voice recognition engine and TTS voices installed, you can download VoxATC X without voice recognition. 'How can I check that I have SAP 5.1 compatible voice engine in which case I would need to download the Vista version. I run XP however in the Speech menu of my Control Panel under Lanhuage I have Microsoft English Recognizer…

First, I want to say thanks and great job, I am a happy customer overall, but I have a request.Radar Contact has a startup panel that let's you select a number of things for the flight, likethe specific runways you wish to use, and so on. This is a REALLY nice feature and wouldremove the need to override defaults that often dont make sense.The biggest wart with the product that I see is that ground control does not seem torealize that one runway is the same as another, for instance at KLAX it will route trafficfor takeoff to 6R, but at the same time will happily have ground traffic going across24L, makes for some hairy takeoffs :)Keep up the great work,Jack

Hey Yall,I have Vox ATC for FS9 and I am starting to get annoyed of being issued the same altitude and transponder setting everytime. its always maintain 4,000 and squawk 3013. Sometimes I have to wait as much as 10 miles to get issued clearance for an altitude that is only 2,000 ft higher. I love the program and it adds a whole dimension to my flight experience, especially using the beautiful Baron 58 and A36 from Dream Fleet :( . Do I have to use the SID setup routine to get assigned a different altitude other than 4,000 ft? Thanks a bunch.

Maybe I missed something (and if I did please feel free to point it out with the utmost contempt! :)), but I can't start a VOXATC X flight at an uncontrolled airport w/o a flight plan loaded. It starts, but then says "No ATC Unit Found". I don't have any FSX aviation traffic, I even tried killing off all VOXATC traffic. The hardware is running smoothly, and I tried a full re-install. VOXATC X works find if I'm at a controlled airport w/o a flight plan loaded, but not uncontrolled. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

Hi, I am a new VoxATC user who has been happily flying around europe for the last 3 weeks with Voxatc 5.55 and MytrafficX 5.2 under windows XP. In order to get better performance and more Ram for add-Ons I have installed vista64 (which has made a big difference by the way).The problem I have is that no matter what I try, re-instaling, deleting, renaming, even re-installing FSX, I cannot get Voxatc to show traffic with mytraffic 5.2. My traffic works perfectly through FSX, but as soon as I turn fsx traffic to 0% and activate Voxatc, nothing. Voxatc is generating traffic but it is just usually 1 single learjet or similar even at EHAM etc. I have this problem at all airp…

Hello,I am wondering how/whether people with Vista Home Premium are able to use VoxATC. For me VoxATCX is unusable at the moment, it turns out, because I keep getting the message that I should have a US English compatible speech recognizer. I thought it was a bug on my system, but it seems not. I have asked Microsoft support today, and they have explained to me that Vista Home Premium (at least the Dutch version) has no speech recognizer built in! Speech recognition seems to be a feature of Vista Ultimate, and good old XP. So VoxATC is actually unusable for Home Premium users unless they are looking for some third-party speech recognition add-ons. I did not know this befo…

Hello,I have a question about how to start a new flight after landing at the destination Airport?Lets think of a two leg flight... from KOMA to KLBB to KTUSI set up the first leg in the Flight Sim Flight Planner... No problems there. I land at KLBB without any incidents. Then... I deactivate VOXATC, and set up a new flight from KLBB to KTUS. I load the flight from the flight planner from the FS Menu (I'm not officially ending the flight in FS nor going to the free flight screen) and once I'm at KLBB I activate VOXATC, but VOXATC thinks I'm still flying the first leg of the trip.The FS GPS shows the new flight, the FS Nav log shows the new flight, but the only way I can g…

Have a problem installing VoxATCx on my new system. Tried to enter the following on their contact form but get a server error - don't know if it was transmitted. IAC - here is my problem:I have the DVD version of VoxATCx with ATT Voices. It was installed on an XP32 system. I rebuilt the system and installed XP64. THat's about it. My att voices which I purchased with VoxATC donot work in XP64. Anyone know of any free ones? Don't really feel like spending any more money on this product.

When flying at night, I have a hard time reading the text in the VoxATC window. I know what you think: you can also hear it! But when it's al long text, I'm not that experienced to remember it all, and sometimes, during long flights, I,m afk for a short while and then, when returning, I see I've got a message, but having difficulty reading it. I've tried other colours for letters/background, but can'get it enough contrast with the dark background of the environment at night. Someone got a solution?

Hi All,Usually I can find the answers to my questions by reading past forum entries but couldn't find this one. Am using VoxATC X 5.55 with Ultimate Traffic. Everything works great except that the AI flightplan will not display. UT is configured to show AI aircraft call sign, distance and flightplan (such as KMDW-KCLE) and does when I'm not using VoxATC but only shows call sign and distance if VoxATC is enabled. This is not a huge problem and certainly will not keep me from using Vox but it would be nice if the flightplan would display.Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.ThanksJeb

Hello,When I try to start VoxatcX I keep getting the error message that I should install a US English-speaking voice. I have followed all the steps in the VoxatcX Help-section and I configured Voice Setup. The voice I use are the default voices; with the default Microsoft Anna as the main voice (her language is US English). Still Voxatc says no compatible voice is set up. Does anyone know how to solve this? I am using FSX on a Vista 64-bit computer.Thank you,Lennard

Hi all, wonder if someone can advise - I've just installed the demo version of VOXATC UK, and have set up the speech recognition successfully. I'm now flying the vfr flight from Plymouth to Kemble, and have a problem - ATC is recognising my voice, but I can't hear their voice at all. I can hear background noise and clicking when I key the mike, and I can also hear my own voice through the phones when I speak, so I know the sound is working. In Voice Set up, I've selected Mike for both male and female voice, but again I do not hear anything when clicking on the 'speak button' - is this simply because I have the demo version installed? I fear I may be doing something wrong …

Hi. Does anyone knows if it is possible to set the background colour of the VoxATC to "transparent"? More like the default ATC window of FSX. If so, I would appreciate some instructions.I originally downloaded the trial version and subsequently ordered the DVD with the four voices (US and UK) package. Installation was a breeze; updating all of my planes straight forward, etc. I spent a lot of time voice training on default flights and others I have stored. I have red in the VOxATC reference section Approach requests that there is the possibility to request transit through a controlled airspace as in 'request transit bravo airspace at *altitude* to *location*.Has anybody manage to make it work? I have VFR flightplans crossing Class B or C airspace boundaries yet am not able to use this type of communication - it also does not show up in the trainer.How can I make sure that am able to request transit through controlled airspace from an approach controller.Also how can I make sure in adance what would be the approach frequency to be used by Vox especially when there is more than one defined for FS2004 for a give default airp…

Hi,I just downloaded vox atc, installed it, indexer, panel setup everything went okay.But FSX not asking me that security question about Vagauge.gau on startup, so its not loading it.Downloaded latest version of FSUIPC, uninstalled vox, reinstalled it, but no, FSX not asking me that trusted zone thing, i tried another addons, its asking them, but somehow its not trying to load vagauge.gau.Using XP SP2, FSX SP2Any idea?Thanks.

HI I'm trying out the VOXATC X demo. One problem that I've had since running it, is it causes my monitor to freeze up, requiring a powerdown of the computer to recover. It's happened three times and seems to relate to the VOXATC X gauge. One crash was major, causing Windows XP to require re-authorising Windows on-line.I've never had a crash while running FSX before this.The freeze occurs during flight, about 10 minutes out of the airport - I think, but I'm not sure, it happens after toggling the gauge - not sure on that. The demo is the latest version 5.55.Anybody else notice or have this problem?

I have VoxAtc 5.55 and have never used a previous version. I am really enjoying this program, although my wife has now begun in earnest to question my sanity after seeing me talking to the computer -- that's a whole other issue I don't propose to get help with here. Anyhow, I cannot get SIDs or STARS to work. I know there is an issue with these and note the following advice from the Vox website: Before loading a flight with a SID or a STAR, load a different flight. When that flight has loaded, load the flight with SID and/or STAR. This is because MSFS makes a copy of the relevent files for the last flight you made. Just rebuilt my FSX pc and re-installed latest version of VOXATC. Have used VOX before without issue, however i am now getting all of the AI traffic disappear at some point during the flight. Everything is working as normal, then all traffic vanishes. ATC continues to give me directions, but its lonely up there with no one else around.Any suggestions please??
