Traditionally, when painting most fsx airplanes, the Diffuse Alpha controls reflectivity, the spec controls specular reflection tint, and the spec alpha controls the size of the glint. Now, with the PMDG aircraft, it appears the Diffuse Alpha doesn't really have anything to do with the reflectivity, which is new to me. I've never seen a paint set up like this. Can somebody briefly give me a pointer on how to go about changing the reflectivity for the PMDG---Normally, we would just make the shiny parts a darker shade in the D. Alpha, but I really am not sure how to do this on the PMDG aircraft, as the D. Alpha seems to be assigned to "transparency." I'm not a new…

Hello Everyone, I just want to say this is my first repaint so any feedback good or bad is welcomed. It ain't no Leonardo Da Vinci but i am happy with it, it's basically just Black with a logo. WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) have several Bombardier Private Jets, However they don't have one on the CRJ 700 which is what i painted these on. With my past paint for the RA Legacy in order to put my paint on the other side of the fuselage I just duplicated the layer and dragged and flipped it. I'm running into an issue using PS CS2 (the free one). So I used the Pen Tool to created a somewhat curvy line on this paint. But I can't seem to copy the red stripe over to a new layer to drag to the other side. Should I be using a different technique to copy this vector mask? Is it possible to take an IFLY 737 repaint and use it to repaint a PMDG 737?

I have been trying to improve on some of the landing light textures for the POSKY A330 and the Project Airbus A380 as follows, but whenever I alter one of the lighting textures, they no longer switch on and off with the landing lights (glare from the landing lights remains on the fuselage even when the lights are off). For the feelThere E195 I have also been trying to find any lighting textures at all which will switch on and off with the landing light and tail logo switches in the cockpit. Hello everyone, I've been wanting this plane in my collection for a while now, N8308L, it was my training aircraft for a while and was my favorite color to this aircraft. Jim saw this Skymaster at his local airport and took a shine to it. So he asked me to do it for FSX: N2QD suffered an undignified wheels up landing not so long back which necessitated a repaint. This is the 'before prang' Prettier now I think.

Folks Does anyone know how straight forward the CS 707 paint kit is? I've done a grand total of one repaint in the past, so experience level is not high. There are a couple of airlines that have not been done and for the life of me I cannot understand why. So I thought I would give them a go. I'm sure they will take some weeks because life interupts and the wife (bless her) doesn't appreciate me spending hours on it, especially when I get a bit 'focused' and let the tea stew, the coffee get cold, bubs unchanged... Hello, Apologies for the most likely basic question, I did try a search but had little luck. I am trying to re-paint the Eaglesoft DA42, I downloaded the Eaglesoft paint kit and did the following: Copied another scheme, renamed the folder and edited the .cfg file, the simple bits done. The aircraft with its "new" scheme loads faultlessly in FSX. The contents of the standard scheme is two sets of five 32bit .bmp's, two for the fuselage, one for the wings, one for engines, one for parts, two for fuselage. Some are named with a T at the end, some with SPEC. What does this mean?? My method of repainting is to open the .psd files from the paint kit, design …

Just wondering if anyone was aware of a payware or freeware program that does the same thing as Abacus FSrepaint? I've heard that FSrepaint wont open all models, and I'm not about to shell out $30 for software that doesn't work. I've been enjoying repainting Carenado's 1900 - but I'm going nuts constantly switching aircraft and reloading. thanks!

Hi Guys Looking for a bit of advice on finishing this repaint as this is my first repaint I've created a fictional repaint with the a2a paint kit,and I'm reasonably happy with it so far. my paint contains several layers firstly tried flattening all layers then saving as a dds (I'm using photoshop) and then created the necessary files and put it into fsx. The result was terrible in that I basically had the entire paintkit on the paint scheme. I figure looking at the paintkit with the schemes that it comes with that these are merged and have everything else turned off eg background, alpha channels etc so I'm not sure now what to flatten what to merge and then how muc…

Unfortunately you'll have to speak and be able to write chinese there to get an account (which I can't). Maybe there's a nice person out there in the flightsimmin' world who speaks chinese and will create an account, if so I'd appreciate it very much. Firstly, if this question has been asked and answered previously, I apologize for the duplicate post.I use FS Repaint as a means of checking my paints as I do them (like no doubt a lot of people). After installing "some models" (primarily the now defunct Posky stuff) the aircraft shows up in FS Repaint; however, when trying to open it I am getting one of two error messages, as follows:1. "mdl cannot be found" or2. Hello guys! My name is Alex, and I'm a novice repainting for FSX and P3D. Since I've noticed a lack of N-numbers, I've spend the past two days designing a font that matches 100% of most GA fonts. It is called "Avitype Semi-Round" and should replace Amarillo USAF as the default N-number font. I've uploaded it to the Prepar3d Misc Files section.
