Hi friends, I realise this Aircraft Paintersforum is a part of the Microsoft Flightsimulators Forums , nevertheless I would like to welcome painters who are active in repainting aicraft for X-Plane. Why? You might ask ,let me explain. Painting, re-painting, or making skins if you like to use that word, for X-Plane is basicly the same as doing it for MSFS or any other simulator. Though we have a special X-Plane forum at AVSIM ,I think its a waste of time ,energy and space to create a separate aircraft paintersforum for X-Plane or any other sim. Its my intention to create a Repaint FAQ`s for X-Plane likewise the one we have here for MSFS , in time,step by step. As repainting for various sims is technically the same ,the Repaint FAQ for MSFS will provide a lot of usefull information too. Hi all, Need help installing liveries for DA Fokker 70/100 in FSX. Downloaded liveries from AVSIM, some installed without problems while others failed to show up in aircraft selection menu. I made sure that 'thumbnail' image is present. Tried loading bitmap files and got error message like 'unsupported bitmap format'. Any clues as to why? Joseph

Hello everyone, We have a B737 cockpit.(ifly cbe p3dv4) https://737projectcom.wordpress.com/ It simulates a Europe Airpost B737. I'm currently working on a repaint of this aircraft using GIMP software. But this is my first repaint. I'm having trouble with the white stripes that run under the aircraft near the main landing gear. Could you please advise me on how to position these white stripes? Thank you. i all New to the painting thing in MSFS 2024 How can I change the Call Sign on a plane to show when I look at it from outside. Are there specific tools I need? I have a Fenix A3** and also waiting for PMDG 737 to be available for MSFS 2024 and last the Aerosoft A 330 I would like to change on all the Call Sign to my calls sign I have in VATSIM. I can not install the latest developer toolkit because I am on Windows 10, and apparently do not have some required component that gets installed by Win 11. Any third party suggestions?

Hello all. I'm looking for assistance with an issue I am having when trying to do a repaint for our VA for the MSFS2020 Dreamwings Dash 8-400 which has been ported from FSX. IN the paint kit several of the .psd files have a pink background as do the .dds files in the liveries. For the life of me I cannot figure out how to achieve this pink background when converting to .dds Without that back ground my files are slightly larger than those in the aircraft livery folder and just don't show in 2020. I have used the jason file in the configurator but nothing happens. Any help appreciated. Rob I have tried to attach the files but do not seem to be able so to do.

Looking for some assistance in regards to KTX2 texture sizes. I have converted my PNG files to KTX2 format using ImageToMSFSKTX2-main, but some of the textures sizes are double the size compared to the orginal house livery. For example... Hello so I would like to start making some repaints for the PMDG 737 and 777 in MSFS. I have some experience making some basic repaints for P3D using Photoshop. The part I'm struggling with is what I need to do so the livery will show up in MSFS. Once I'm done in PS what do I do from there? I know there is usually something involving a .JSON file but I'm not sure how that works exactly. Thanks

I have a friend who wants to have a repaint of one of the new MSFS 2024 models, but there is no indication in the new MSFS folder structure as to where the model files can be found. Anyone able to help please? TIA.

I'm afraid I can't seem to post an image but if you go online to Air-Britain photographic collection there are very good pictures of the yellow Canadian T6, (it's most recent colours), registered in the UK as G-BDAM belonging to Classic wings based at Duxford. I think the UK reg must be on the underside of the wing or something as I can't see it on the fuselage. I am soon to fly on this aircraft as a 68th birthday present!
