I have just donated my $5 to MAAM to get the old version of the R4D (I got a friend to donate for me when the original FS2k version came out), and forgot all about it until the other day. Anyway, I have updated it for FS2k2, and donated to the museum, and I cannot for the life of me remember how to close the door, and a couple of other things. Can anybody remind me about this? Also, does anybody have a copy of one of the older versions of the manual? I will go about downloading the original FS2k version again, just to get the older manual, but if somebody has it, could they please email it to me at [email protected] , as it would be a lot quicker and easier. Can…

For whatever reason, I cannot figure out how the time of post is determined. Is there somewhere we were supposed to have chosen a time zone? It isn't military time and it doesn't figure to be GMT. I missed it somewherre!!!!!!!!Edd1

Got my copy of Briefing Time this morning, along with the multimedia CD, and I am speechless! The full version of BT is a masterpiece! The full 2D panel is amazing, and, when I first went to the VC, I thought I had pressed the wrong button - it is so much like the 2D panel that I had to check I was actually in the VC. The sound set is also superb.I haven't had a chance to look at the multimedia CD yet, but I'm sure it will be amazing.Keep up the good work, guys! All I will have to do now is visit MAAM, and see the real Briefing Time for myself!CheersMalcolm

Those of you interested in the historical aspects of the B-25 will find Don Kaiser's site of great interest. It includes an extensive overview of the 489th Bomb Squadron in which both his father and "Briefing Time" flew.[http://sbl.salk.edu/~dkaiser/page.html]

Today I did a repaint for the beautiful B-25J Briefing TimeIt represents a B-25 from the 42nd BG 13th AF.The Noseart is fiction but i like the artwork so i've put it on the plane. The Tailart is from a real 42nd BG plane http://forums.avsim.com/user_files/3837.jpghttp://forums.avsim.com/user_files/3838.jpg http://forums.avsim.com/user_files/3840.jpg http://forums.avsim.com/user_files/3841.jpg

Let's stop heaping praises on these guys and be realistic. BT falls short on at least six accounts : - No Smell ! I miss the mixed fragrance of a typical military WW2 cockpit : leaking oil with kerosene, cold Lucky Strike smoke (for you youngsters LS was a very popular brand of cigarettes way back when you weren't even born) and rancid vomit. BTW, no empty Lucky Strike packets on the floor...- What ? ! NO FLYING LEATHER JACKET coming with the CD !- Guns are fake, would you believe it ! no way of getting rid of these pesky Cessnas ! - No gilfriend piccies on panel ! Come on ! these brave young men were, hmmmm, young men... By the same token, No WAAC nowhere to be seen …

OK now she's in my own private hangar! Briefing Time I mean. Tell me about addiction, I don't even have a computer to fly her but one thing at a time :7. These nice 800 MHZ FSB, 3+ GHz P4 puters are just around the corner. On my lousy laptop I can at least learn the startup procedures and plan my future flights. But i don't see the nice cards that were stuck on the R4D-6 panel with with rpm and IAS and MP figures.hmmm, found that nice table though on page 159 of the PTM, sightly torn OK let's see : for a 360 nm flight, I need 400 gallons and to fly at 10 000 feet at max speed (230 mph) my RPM needs to be 2250 and my MP FT. FT ? now what does in the world mean FT ? and th…

I just re-installed Win XP Pro and Fs202 and of course BT. Sometime back I saw a post (not even sure it was in this forum) where someone listed a change to the [sOUND] section of the FS2002.cfg file to improve the sound quality. I can't find that post any longer and was hoping the author is in here and will repeat that tid bit. Thanks Mike B.

Hi everyone!I downloaded the demo of this plane a bit ago, and it rocked. It was soooo FPS Friendly, like I didnt even notice it. But I was wondering if this is true for the full version? Like I couldnt handle the Flight1 Meridian because of stuttering so I was wondering if this wonderful plane has any problems that alot of people get (like the stuttering of the meridian) or is she solid and reliable just like the real thing =DJason WinnAMD Xp1900+Geforce 2 TI256 DDR 210080 Gig 7200 Maxtor 8MB BufferAtlanta ARTCC (ZTL)Student 1UPS905Second Officer.

I haven't bought 'Briefing Time' yet, but I do intend to within the next couple of days (just paid my credit card off, and am waiting for the updated balance), but I have just installed the trial version, and would like to ask about some performance figures so I can start a round the UK flight before I get the full version. The figures I would like to know are:* Rough cruise speed and power settings at 6000ft and 10000ft* Maximum gear and flap operating speeds* Ideal approach and landing speedsIf these figures are somewhere in the manual, I apologise. I have had a quick look at it, but I haven't read it properly. Any help appreciated!

I thought you might like to see what the new OEP (Overhead Electrical Panel) for the all-new Gmax R4D looks like. I have just finished the graphics and uploaded the, for Fred to code. Here is a reduced-size shot of the entire panel...http://www.fssupport.com/maam_sim/oep_small.gifThere are 117 separate bitmaps, or parts, in this panel. Now here's a full size chunk of the panel, so you can judge the readability of the radios and labels...http://www.fssupport.com/maam_sim/oep_part.gifThis should do away with the complaints - justified, I might add - about the hard-to-read radios in the old R4D. The new OEP replicates the actual one in #50819 faithfully, except for one compr…

Don Smith volunteered to convert the BT docs into Adobe PDF format for us, and I have just uploaded the BT user's manual for anyone who wants a more printable version. http://www.fssupport.com/maam_sim/BT_manual.pdfOne caution - the Table of Contents and other bookmarks from the html version in the PDF document do not take you to the right places. It's 113 pages and I recommend 150% magnification for reading it. I have not tried printing it, but if anyone has further recommendations about that, please post the information here.If you do not have the free PDF reader, get it from the Adobe website.Don has also converted the varoius documents from the Multi-Media CD, but …

Just got the latest issue of PC Pilot magazine through the mail this morning, and there is a review of Briefing Time in it (pg 20 if you have the magazine). The verdict is 5 STARS, and the one line comment is:'The R4D Team have excelled themselves. A stunning piece of work in every respect.'After reading this, I will DEFINATELY be buying Briefing Time, and helping to support MAAM.Good work, guys!CheersMalcolm
