I have 2 PC's linked through WideFS. Latest versions downloaded and installed prior to AS2004 install. The active radar connector was used to setup connection with FS2004.However, nothing happens when Ctrl-F12 is pressed.Apart from that just two flights have shown a fantastic view out the window - I look forward to the next few hours of experiments!Ray Keattch.

Use the latest version of FSUIPC - v3.135 with AS2004.It does not matter if you are using the registered or unregistered version AS2004 works with both.

Thank you for your very loyal AS 2004 Upgrade price for existing AS Useres. I will be the first in line to buy.Since you added the weather smoothing routines to 1.9 AS has been perfect for me, with little or no rapid wind changes.Cant Wait.Jason.

This is work in progress! Please feel free to add!Frequently Asked Questions:Is AS2004 compatible with FS2002?No, it is not. AS2004 is compatible with FS2004 ONLY, due to the new station-based structure of the AS2004 weather engine. Can I run AS2004 on WideFS?Yes, AS2004 can run via WideFS on another computer other than your FS computer. The ActiveRadar module, however, must run on the FS system. An ActiveRadar Connector program is made available to point ActiveRadar to your second (AS2004) computer and properly read AS2004 weather data.Does AS2004 completely solve all FS2004 weather issues? No. It does work-around many of these issues, however, and provides a much bet…

Greetings Pilots! We are getting really close to release now. I'd say assuming no major problems crop up, we're looking at releasing with 24 hours.I just wanted to point out a few notes about the release process and our policies, as well as answer some common questions we've been receiving lately.First, during release we are planning for the worst and expecting that our server and associated ecommerce vendors will be "torqued" during the first couple days of release. Fortunately the download size is about 10MB, not really enough to cause major problems with the amount of bandwidth at our disposal, but we want to prepare everyone in advance that there may be some issues w…

Hey there...I have two wxRE questions.1) Right now I'm using Weather Center 2.3.1 when I fly online on VATSIM (with FS2004), and am suffering through sudden and massive winds-aloft changes. We're talking winds going from, say, 220 at 105, to 110 at 70, instantly, or just dropping out altogether. (And this isn't in the middle of the Atlantic, it happened last night all along a route from KDTW to KLAX.) Does the current, or will the new v2, of wxRE fix that? Kinda makes it tough to fly when you're getting 140-knot wind shears...at least the passengers get a plane ride *and* a thrill ride for the price of one virtual ticket. :)2) I ordered wxRE 1.91 through eMetrix on …

Hi all,This problem is something I have been noticed since several days. Using ActiveSky wxRE 1.92 at any airport where it is raining or snowing, I have them (rain and snow) only the first minute (aprox.) just after hit "refresh" button in ActiveSky main window. After that minute, rain or snow dissapears. Sometimes they appear again after a while, but once more for a minute.I have tried to get the same weather scheme but without using AS, and all works well.Thank you for your attention.Best regards,

I am having a problem installing wxRE.Whilst going through the installation process a window comes up with the request "click on icon in the list to change how the feature is installed" but this window is blank and has no options. I then continue next next ... and finish. But when trying to start wxRE I cannot find it in my program. Thanks in advance for help.

Hi everyone!!!We're in the final strech here, and the Beta Team and I are hard at work trying to fix some last minute issues to ensure that the release is high quality and as trouble-free as possible.Right now it looks like it may take another day or two to wrap things up. Possibly Wednesday or Thursday. Stay tuned here, we will post more information as it becomes available! Thanks everyone for your patience and support!Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004betateam.jpg

Will AS2004 fix the dreaded overcast bug that plagues this version of Flight Simulator? Will we get true overcast layers (down to published IFR minimums)? This will be a deciding factor for purchasing this product.Thank you,Jason

Hi all,With FS2004's default online weather, the sim sets a visibility layer close to the ground. If you are under this 'visibility layer' an overcast sky looks great, wonderful for a serious IFR takeoff. However, as soon as you climb above the visibility layer the overcast becomes translucent (you can see the ground through a solid overcast from above). I use 100 percent 3D clouds with a 60 mile draw distance and 100 percent coverage. On a typical approach into hardcore IMC (recently in fact on an approach into Fargo, ND, SFC report: snow, overcast at 600 ft, visibility 1 mile), FS2004's built an overcast that looked great from 23,000 feet during my initial decen…

OK, first off, let me make it perfectly clear that this is NOT an wxRE and/or AS2 bug I'm referring to. I simply am posting this question here because in reality, this IS the premier site for FS9 (and before) wx questions, and if there's an answer to be found, it is here :-) (man, how's that for buttering up the moderators/participants, eh? :-lol).On a (rather bumpy with some rather "nasty" windshears that FS is known for) flight last night, I found myself pretty much solid in the soup at FL280. Note I was using another popular payware wx addon. The next lowest cloud base was listed at 3500 overcast, so I was a bit curious about being in the stuff at that altitude. S…

Looking good Damian. You've really managed to revolutionize FS2004's weather engine, wow! I've said it before and I'll say it again, this will be the single most desirable add-on for FS2004, bar none.
