Has anyone been able to run Active Sky WXRE (Version 1.92) on a remote client via Wide FS successfully? I run PM, SB, FSMeteo and several other things across a network using WideFS on a remote client with little or no problem. My setup is: FS9 on server with WideFS ActiveSKYWXRE Ver 1.92 on client. Both files are set for full sharing. I've mapped a drive to FS9 on the server from the client machine. It is: Z:Dfc4bl11FS9I always get the .ini error everytime I run Active Sky.Here is my wxre.ini file://wxRE configuration file - be careful with edits here[General]WXREOfflinePath = C:Program FilesActiveSky wxREExportPath = C:Program FilesActiveSky wxREOperationMode = Onlin…

Hi,After personally posing several questions, reading through the recent threads here and seeing the screenshots of the AS2 betas, frankly I'm sold on it. I'm a registered user of AS 1.X and I love it for FS2002. I think the next generation AS2 for FS2004 addresses every one of the concerns I've had with FS2004's abyssmal built-in online weather. Can I pre-order AS2? Thank you.

Hello,I was wondering about a question I have with Active Sky 2. Let say the current weather at some location is 2000 overcast with rain. What is the thickness of the clouds that active sky will use? Is this thickness variable to any degree?I ask this because many times when you are getting rain the cloud tops will be at 10,000 feet or higher. I remember some older "real weather" programs that I used (not Active sky) would simulate the rain well but then you would break out at 5000 feet or something which is usually unrealistic.Hope this question makes sense. Thanks.Kevin

Here is the METAR string I copied right out of AS 1.92 for KMLT. AS decided that the FEW035 layer won't even appear and it didn't produce any light snow either. Is AS capable of producing the weather in this METAR or not??KMLT 080458Z AUTO 35013G22KT 5SM -SN FEW035 OVC070 M04/M08 A2974Thanks,KevinPS I am using FS9 on Win 2000 with FSUIPC 3.11I just used the real weather in FS9 and it showed everything just right.I hope AS 2 will be able to give me better results than I have gotten using 1.92

First time posting here. Well, since I purchased and installed the new version of wxRE all my pop up windows in FS9 are having problems. For instance: when I open FSN window and click on the docking button or any button for that matter with my mouse it closes the window but does make the change.... I know this because I then click on the cockpit window or anywhere else on the screen and the FSN window then appears. This same event occurs with any window I have open within FSN. It seems that my mouse button configuration somehow is messed up since the install of wxRE. I have asked several of my DCA airways members if they have heard of this or how to fix it and nobody …

Hi..The reason for this post is to ask about present weather difficulties with FS2002 and to seek a solution to solve them. In use is FSUIPC 2.975Difficulties in the default MSFS `Real World' weather.. some visibility data may be getting corrupt when transitioning regions in that visibility goes to infinite.. and a very ugly and jagged boundary appears on the horizon (really bad). Going into settings menu, `display' and jogging `visibility' slider one notch cures this (very annoying).Second issue is.. after setting up detailed wind layers manually.. something is wiping out the layers and replacing them all with 0 - 99999 ft at 7 kts. Additionally.. gusts are either 0 or f…

Some Screen shots of the most recent beta which is working fabulously!First few are some misc. shots around Bar Harbor and Vermont. Last are departure from KCDW west and north of Manhattan to FL250 over Connecticut. This was fun. I downloaded current weather, for an offline flight. I live right under the approach to runway 25 at KLEB (Lebanon, New Hampshire). We had snow squalls all day. Next minute, blue skies and sun. Sounded like a challenge for AS2k4 to me, but this program met the challenge admirably! Here's proof:The www.intellicast.com radar at download time. Please notice that KLEB is pretty much right in the middle of the square created by Vermont and New Hampshire, while KMHT (Manchester, NH) is half way between KLEB and KBOS (Just south of KCON):http://cobweb.dartmouth.edu/~gridlock/!Intellicast.jpgHold short, runway 36 (as in "you're not the only idiot willing to …

Hi,Is Active Sky 2 compatible with squawkbox (using VATSIM or IVAO)? That is, is it capable to get the weather from VATSIM servers? Would the generated weather be visually different than the one currently created in the standard multiplayer environment? Thanks for some clarifications.Eric.

Hello,I am going for a flight out of PDX which is currently fogged in pretty good. The downloaded METAR is reporting150/04KT 0SM R10R/0800V1200FT FG BKN002 BKN005 04/04 A3033I am getting good visibility and only the BKN002 layer is showing up.Anyone know what is going on?Thanks,Kevin

I didn't want to post in this forum but I noticed that HiFi now 'owns' WeatherCenter2. Can WC2 be used with FS2004 download static weather? I want the weather radar and winds aloft/weather info offered by this program but not for online updates. Or like AS, downloaded weather. My internet connection sucks and I'd rather use offline weather. So, will it work in this manner. I will be buying AS2 when it comes out - I assume it will be able to use downloaded/offline weather files. I really like the radar in WC2. I also assume that AS2 will have FlightMax compatibility. Thanks, Adam

Hi all,Due to an overwhelming response by our customers, we have decided to cancel all previously stated pricing programs for AS2004. We will completely re-evaluate things and will come up with a solution and pricing system that provides a good value and is fair to ALL users equally. The final pricing announcement will come at release-time. Thanks all for your continued support...Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2betateam.jpg

Hi Jim and Damian,I recently upgraded from v1.7 to v1.91 - no need to update to 1.92 since at the moment I don't use FS9, waiting for patches for most of add-ons ! - (FS2002/FSUIPC 2.975/OFFLINE) and yes it's much better, no bad data (expecially on 99999 winds), but...while it handles TAFs and METARs pretty well, it does not update on new station for the winds aloft part, that is, I've to refresh it every now and then to get new alofts (and after refreshing the datas are good and correctly simulated all the way from ground to cruise and back). I reckon there's no more the "update FDs on new station" box in the setup...Since I've just tried a couple of flights in the last …

This is now happening almost everytime I fly with wxRE 1.92 in FS2004 - as I descend toward my destination, the winds stay locked at the aloft value they were at enroute. Trying to land with a 50+kt crosswind is not fun!Any idea what could be causing this? Here's my .ini - basically I have it set up to update the weather every 10 minutes and I usually enter my destination into the box and force it within 60 miles:WXREOfflinePath = C:Program FilesActiveSky wxREExportPath = C:Program FilesActiveSky wxREOperationMode = OnlineDefaultOfflineFile = defcycle02Z.wxdDisableCloudTransitions = FalseDisableMessages = TrueLowBandwidthWinds = FalseExportMetars = FalseAutoTimeZoneDete…

Damien,I'm flying ActiveSky 1.91 w/Radar Contact on FS2k2. I've recently made several flights and noticed that the actual FS pressure setting at the DEST is not matching the Metar, the ATIS reported altimeter or the Radar Contact approach controller's reported altimter setting. For example, during an approach to KDFW (and still beyond the force distance) the current pressure was 3028. When 50 miles from KDFW (and within the "force" distance), ATIS reported the altimeter as 3015. When approach vectored me to the final approach course they gave me a new altimeter of 3015. However, the FS pressure setting (as obtained when pressing 'B') was still 3028. I landed and the …

I've been unable to locate any definite word on whether the current release of Active Sky wxRE 1.92 is "accredited" to FSUIPC with keys so it can be used with the freeware unregistered version of FSUIPC 3.x or do I need to register for the payware version of UIPC in order to use the current Active Sky with FS2004?TIA

Greetings,I have been attempting to get IVAO compatibility for the past year.. nobody from IVAO will even respond to any emails. The apparent policy of IVAO is "NO PAYWARE ACCESS" as many IVAO users have told me, but I have never heard this from IVAO itself.. never heard anything from them! I have sent about 5 emails the past few months..I have been asking IVAO users to please send a message to IVAO management requesting that they please respond to my inquiries about access via ActiveSky.. if enough demand was raised they may consider it I suppose!Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2betateam.jp…

Hi DamianSince ActiveSky version 1.91 FS default key do not refresh local QNH (when different from standard) and of course after auto-downloading actual ActiveSky weather and refreshing. With FS2002, altimeter "Kollman" pressure setting always stays to standard (29.92/1013.25)..with FS2004 it's OK..this occurs with any FSUIPC version (from 2.975 to 3.125)..Any explanation? Thanks for the helpHerv
