Hi Damian & Jim,before purchasing AS2004, I've a dumb question: is it possible to get to OFFLINE files from your private server without having the AS2004 installed ? The problem is: I do not have an Internet connection at home, only in the office, and I cannot install AS2004 in my office's PC, that's all. Since now, using AS2002, I was able to have nice offline files simply downolading METARS,TAF and wind cycles from NOAA servers...Hope it is possible to get the offline files for AS04 too...Many thanks and Merry Xmas.Enrico.

Howdy, I bought AS2004 yesterday, and the wetaher looks stunning, but I have one problem though. I loaded my flight plan, and did everything according to the manual, but the Active Radar Screen just shows Black, even with a major thunderstorm in the area where I was flying. Its just the white cross-hair, but not fancy weather stuffAny help would be greatly appreciatedThanks

I keep taking off and landing at airports that are reporting OVC006 to OVC003 and below and I consistently see the runway / ground from 2000' to 3000' to the ground (or from takeoff till I climb to 2000' to 3000' AGL). I've only seen one other person complain about this, so I wonder what I could be doing wrong. BKN conditions are even worse - I guess to be expected. But with BKN, you should see the inside of a cloud more often than you see the ground.I'd really like to fly into an airport once that is reporting low weather and not see the runway at the outer marker (without setting the visibility to 1/4SM - ie. break out of the clouds). I was hoping that AS2004 could achi…

Can I assume that the new ActiveSky 2004 simulates wake turbulance quite accurately?? I was on approach into DFW this evening, and due to heavy traffic, I was following two aircraft to land on rwy 17L. I suppose we were not adequately spaced. Anyway, about 3 miles from touchdown, my plane went almost completely out of control, and I have to disable AP and fly manually. I barely made it. Any ideas?? Thank you.Kevin

OK! The "acid test" for AS2004 :-hah!This was my first flight over the "pond" in FS9, and I really wanted to see if AS2004 would deliver over the water, unlike FS9 does. Man, did it ever! The flight was from Toronto to Helsinki in a B747-400, leaving at 08:10 EST Toronto time. It was scheduled to be a 7:15 hour flight, but that's not allowing for tail winds. I wasn't sure if I'd have any tailwinds over the ocean as I know everything gets "quite calm" in FS9's world when you get over the North Atlantic (yeah, like THAT's as real as it gets :-fume!). The GCR (Great Circle Route) took us from the Simcoe VOR on the STARS/Vectors out of Toronto, over northern Labrador (j…

I purchased AS04 when it was released but today was the first chance I got to fly with it. I did a short hop from kwwd-kphl and weather wise everythig was right on the money.I did notice a slight fps hit, but I'll tweak that. The issue I had before with the clouds blinking on and off seems to have pretty much gone away. Something similar did happen right after takeoff, but the rest of the flight was perfect. Thanks guys!http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/54058.jpgConditions at time of departure.

Hello Everyone!I just wanted to keep you all informed on some issues found after release, and to let you know what I am working on...First, the WideFS connector and ActiveRadar install process is flawed, and I am working on a new installer program that should hopefully release in the next day or two once it is fully tested and working right. This affects WideFS users only.Next, there have been some problems with instant changes and severe wind shifts in some cases where there simply should not be any (due to the nature of AS2004 weather updates and features), so we can confirm that there is a problem somewhere that was introduced between our final beta version and releas…

I think this program has tons of potential. Yet I am a bit dissapointed. First of all, the radical wind shifts are much, much, much worse since I started with the program. They are shifting me all over the place. Second, the clouds still pop up out of nowhere. I just took off from EWR and while on the ground the skies were few clouds at 4000 and winds were out of the northwest at 27kts. I took off and a bunch more clouds just popped in and then once I got above them it started to rain....yet there were no clouds above me. I do not see the transitions between weather conditions either. I am using FSUIPC (latest version), I have cleared all weather I load my flight …

Hope I'm not losing my mind but, IIRC, Ctrl-F12 should bring up the Radar window in *either* windowed or 3d mode, correct? If I'm in full screen 3d, the radar window displays. If I Alt-Enter to windowed mode, the radar window does not display. I checked and it's not in the task bar or hidden - it's just not there. It seems that when I first tried the program it DID display in windowed mode.Single system, latest FSUIPCThanx,Vic

Hi to all! What settings should I activate in FSUIPC registered version to use with AS2004?I read the AS2004 manual but nothing about fsuipc configuration (only to use the minimum default settings). For example: i see that AS2004 has wind smoothing and pressure smoothing so I suppose I do not activate into FSUIPC. But for turbulence and icing formation into the clouds? And other clouds and wind settings? Many thanks for answerRegards,Max

Since installing AS2004, I seem to have lost power with PMDG aircraft. If I leave AS2004 disable, my PMDG 737 runs fine on taxi, but as soon as I enable AS2004, my plane slows down to a complete stop. I have ran AS2004 before and after launching FS9 but I get the exact saome issue...I haven't tried any other aircrafts because even if they run fine, that does not prove to me that AS2004 is at fault. As we know PMDG 737 is already a complex aircraft so I'm wondeing if there is something conflicting with both...I really wasn't looking for this kind of experience especially since having to wait for PMDG SU2 for soo long..Any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated..SYS:A…

Hi,When selecting a flight plan within Active Radar the list of flight plans does not scroll properly. About half of the bottom line when scrolling down a list or half of the top line if scrolling up changes; the central portion (that is the list that fits into the window when it first appears) remains static. I can resize the window in order to see the flight plan I want but that would not work if I had a lot.I notice this evening the same effect if I call up the flight plan on the kneeboard and try to scroll it.This a new, post AS2004 installation, phenomenon.Any guidance would be appreciated.Brian

Hi all,There was some information omitted from the installation text accidentally..For WideFS users wishing to run AS2004 on a remote computer with ActiveRadar on the FS PC, please follow these instructions:First install AS2004...For example, install AS2004 on the remote WideFS PC to C:AS2004...Now, on the FS computer, map a drive to your remote computer...Next, on the FS computer, run the Connector program (located in C:AS2004ModulesActiveSky2004. It will ask for the AS2004 install folder, which is (mapped drive):AS2004. If you mapped F: then this is F:AS2004.Now one step I forgot to mention in the text (will correct ASAP):Now copy over the C:AS2004ModulesActiveRadar.DLL…

Hello all - This is probably NOT an AS issue but I'm trying to find the cause of the following problem that started around the time of the latest 1.91 update and is the same with 1.92.It happens on several different a/c including the default lear and 777. Basically - the airspeed will suddenly drop to zero and a few seconds or minutes later will recover. This will happen several times through the course of the flight, generally at random. No, it is NOT the pitot heat but it reacts just like that except that turning the pitot heat on or off before or during the flight has no effect. The only add-ons I've updated are AS and FSUIPC( regged ).I'm trying to track down more speci…

Hi to all!I'm trying AS2004. Probably tomorrow I'll do my first on-line flight with it. Now I'm studying it on the ground. I create a flightplan from LIME to LICJ using FSbuild 2 (latest patched version).I load in AS2004 and process correctly but when I try to load this flightplan into ActiveRadar nothing happen.I think there's something wrong with this flightplan. So I load it into fs2004 flight planner and then re-save it directly from FS.Surprise! Now ActiveRadar load the plan! Now my question is: "Why?"It seems that flightplans generate with FSBuild 2.x are incompatible with Active Radar :-(Any idea? Thanks!Regards,Max

Now, my departure ATIS is calling out 3600 overcast and the sky appearance has changed. Why does loading a flight plan into AS2 change the departure weather such that it is no longer in agreement with the departure metar?I have tried this at several fields, used various combinations of weather clearing and refreshing,…

First off, I am very impressed with the new edition. Thanks for doing such a great job. I am however noticing a strange event on every flight I have flown since installing the new edition. All through the flight from beginning to end things work just fine. I get good framerates and a minumum of stuttering. However when Radar Contact tells me do descend to 10000 feet on approach, as soon as the plane reaches the viscinity of 10000, my computer starts to lock up for about 5 or 6 seconds at a time. It then runs for about 2 seconds and then locks up again for 5 seconds. It all stops as soon as I turn off Radar Contact. I have tried this 6 or 7 times with different planes both …
