-First one. The usual cloud/weather 'popping on or off'. I was flying along in the soup, and emerged from a cloud into the clear, and looked behind me, expecting to see a front wall, and it was CAVOK to the horizon in all quadrants. Cloud systems still seem to instantly pop in and out as a flight progresses. No smoothing or transitions at all. I never get to see clouds forming in the distance, then slowly fly toward them. Like to ask you guys a question.Is it normal for an aircraft to indicate 000 airspeed from about 14000ft up to 33000ft?Meaning I have no airspeed indication but zeros.I depend on MO when reaching about 10000ft.Any suggestions?ALPHA37

I have to admit I haven't read all the documentation on AS1.91 yet but I'am hoping for a quick answer here. I was flying into KORD today at around 10000 the windspeeds were 63kts, several minutes later while on final approach into KORD the windspeeds were still showing at 60 kts making the landing next to impossible. However the briefing showed that the windspeeds should have only been 11kts at the runway. My question is, is there a setting I'm missing here, is the force/destination box suppose to be checked?Presario

Just a quick thought here guys. I noticed, as you have, that issues tend to get buried in threads that started on a different subject, and it's making it hard to get to the root of problems. I'm wondering if you could start (for AS2, of course) a series of posts with the Subject being a specific issue that seems to come up frequently (relatively speaking), and pin them at the top so they are in plain sight. The first post of each thread, of course would be yours, outlining exactly what you need to see from the complainant (such as screenies, ini files, etc.) and a brief description of what that particular thread covers (i.e. swiftly changing clouds, another for weathe…

Hi all.I still have AS2002 with FSUIPC 2.975 version.When I'm at FL290 or above I always have winds from 80 up to 110 kts never below... In summertime too!!!!Anyone knows this problem.Please help me.Carlo

OK - here is the problem. We have two outstanding products: The PMDG 737 and AS2004. Problem is that when flying an ILS approach with the PMDG 737, the aircraft suddenly loses the glide slope, noses upwards and the pilot is forced to land the plane manually. But sudden winds often blow the plane off course.PMDG says this is AS2004's fault and basically if you want to fly a PMDG 737, you CANNOT use any third party weather engine. Which my answer is, then why bother flying???? They go further to say that it is up to AS2004 to fix this issue.So, my question is, are there any plans to fix the weather so that the PMDG 737 will not encounter this problem??Thanks very much…

HiJim i dont know wether this is an active sky problem 2004'When i am parked at the airport my frame rates average 28 to 29 but when i come to activate the radar my fp drops to 10 on average.I have been trying to solve the problem i do have top end hardware.Canu help please. That is when i use the small version,when i bring back the large version my frame rates reduce dramatically to 1 to 5 fps.When i turn the program off my frame rates stay down around the 10 fps in actual fact it flips from 10 to 28 back immediatley to ten I dont comprehend this at all.Can u help. regards robin

Wilson,Go into your Modules folder and double check your FSUIPC version. If it is 3.125 or 3.128 please update. If it is a later version delete the FSUIPC.ini file and let FSUIPC rebuild it. Let us know!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support

hello,i am using fs9, activesky-wxre 1.92, fsuipc registered, etc.when weather is generated it remains that way for about 10 - 20 seconds (yes, i timed it many times) then switches to clear, then might come back to whatever the weather is for the station (compared to what i see from metar readings on line).i've allowed this anomally to persist for months but now it is to the point of getting annoying. i dont know if i am hitting rain showers or a rain that miraculously stops instantly, etc.how can i fix this? should i send you my fsuipc.ini & wxre.ini files?thank you, in advance,don

Seems Flight Simulator is simulating winds by simply having constant wind in a direction.I think in real life, if there are 100kts winds, they sometime flow at 100kts then stop, then again, there is no constant wind. So a place flying with 100kts sidewind will move left/right all the time.Is that correct? or FS models winds correctly?

Ran into a situation tonight on a flight from Vancouver (CYVR) to Yakutat, Alaska (PAYA). All the way up I was getting forecasts and reports of 1/2 mile vis at PAYA. On final approach, I was still getting ATIS for KYAK, and a destination report for PAYA, both of which were quite different to each other. I could see the runway from the OM so I knew I had at least 4 mile vis (hard to tell how much more - it was night). On the ground I tuned in 122.00 again and got the same reports for KYAK and PAYA, with the 1/2 mile vis reported at PAYA (where I was) and much more than that for KYAK.I brought up the AS2004 window and it showed KYAK as the nearest station at 0nm away, a…

On a couple of occasions I have tried flying out of SLC and AS2004 sets the weather for KZLC. And it's not SLC's weather. Is there any way to force SLC weather? I have flown into SLC and had the weather correct, but twice now it loaded KZLC. Anyone else having this issue? Eddie KSLC

I also have some rapid cloud change issues, with all settings as suggested. Also, when taking-off in 8/8 cloud, about half the cloud cover suddenly disappears when reaching cloud level ? Can anyone shed light on this?ThanksErich

I have installed AS2004 on my wideFS Client PC and then mapped a drive from the FS Server to the widefs client ROOT Directory.I installed the Connector supplied with the AS2004 program which I purchased today and downloaded. I noticed on this forum there is a beta version of the connector and was wondering which was more current. I have tried running both connectors and the one with the software I downloaded appears to install fine. The beta version gives me an access denied error.I have activeradar up on the FS 2004 server and can load a FS9 flight plan however I cannot get the weather station data to update.Randy

CTD, another one!!Get the splash screen, comes up for a second, then FS9 just fades away.I ctrl-alt-del, to check the processes that are up. FS9 shows up after I click on the icon, so does ~E5D141.tmp (no idea what that is) and wmiprvse.exe as well. Never noticed the wmi process showing up, I'm assuming FS9 is trying to load something. I've changed two things since the last successful flight with FS9. I updated NAVDATA and ran ActiveRadar Connector2 (AS2004) with AS2004 on my WideFS computer.No joy though, anyone have any ideas what's causing this?Thanks,

Probably another stupid question- Would someone be so kind as to give the proper steps to use a "saved weather' file in AS 2004. It seems that every time I activate AS 2004, it immediately starts downloading the current weather from the hifi data net. If I have not yet connected to the internet, it seems to automatically start my internet connection.I do understand the function of the "load wx file" button, however after choosing the saved file, there seems to be no info in the "closest station report".I have checked the manual a couple of times but cannot figure out the "offline mode"Any help would be appreciated.Roger Hollands

Let me start by saying I am thoroghly enjoying this product. Great Job guys. Anyway, I was wondering is it possible to get the average wind speed from AS2004 without doing it manually?I use FSBuild 2 for flight planning and the "Average Wind Speed" is used in the fuel calculations.

HiI have installed AS2004 on c drive in installdir folder.I have put the widefs radar connector into the active skyfolder within modules.From my FS machine I have mapped the C drive of the non FS machine.Using Win EX I have browsed to the connector on the nonfs pc from the fs pc.When I run it I get "Runtime error 339........comdlg32.ocx is not registered or missing"SoI just copied and pasted the files inot modules........I now get the scope - but I cant get the clouds on the radar.......Any Advice?PleaseSteve Ps I am a WXRE upgrader - now I have AS2004 installed can I remove WXRE?PPS - can the weather radar display be resized - if so how?
