Hey Guys and Gals,Ok i have got 6.5 running on FS2004 with both normal and enhanced turbulance ticked, but i am not getting any effects at all. The engine updates ok and displays the clouds and storms but no effects on aircraft. I'm a little confused because there appears to be so many upgrades and fixes that when I try to install them all I'm probably missing a couple of incremental ones that should be installed first... because of this I can't seem to upgrade to the FSX version as I don't have Asv/e installed?Wouldn't it be easier now to have ONE downloadable version with all the latest fixes and upgrades in one installationSteve

When I plan a flight I import a pln into AsV6 about 1 hr before dep and use the winds aloft from Nav Log for my fuel calculation ( my own excel tool ) - but during flight those winds are sometimes completely different - either the wind velocity is wrong ( or different ) from what AsV6 gave one to two hours ago or the wind direction is completely off, so the calculated flight times between the waypoints are wrong.On yesterdays flight from EDDT to KPHX between GEP and LBF ( 434 NM ) the Nav log gave me a wind component of MINUS 89 - actual w/c was PLUS 12 !!Does AsV6 use different sources for planning and online winds ?Any ideas appreciated ....Karl, Berlin

I am still using FS9 my computer needs a replacement so I am settling with FS9 for now (still not decided how what hardware for FSX). I have a P4 3.02GHZ (Celeron) 1Gbyte Memory and an old FX5200 (128Mbyte). I just bought Active Sky which I am impressed with but trying to do a short hop from Heathrow to Orly Paris I am getting 20FPS with FS9 real weather but when AS kicks in frames go down below 8 FPS. I did not see any difference whether I use the Active Clouds or not. What are the best settings in Active Sky to have a flyable FS and real weather. I usualy fly the PSS A320.Thanks

Hello Gang!I am slowly getting things to work with FSX. I got AS6.5 finally communicating with the sim and with FSUIPC, but one problem remains. Whenever I launch AS6.5, I get an error message (please see attached screenshot for reference). Hello,I just bought AS6.5 to use with FSX and I was under the impression that one of the features was to avoid abrupt weather change. But when I use it in FSX the weather just flips from one state to another all suddenly with no smoothing ?Do I have some of my settings wrong, or is this just not working ?Thanks,Frank

I posted this in the FSX thread as well.. Not sure if others who use Active sky has experienced this.Remember, during the early Demo, the Bloom was buggy...You get the flashing white screen. I thought they fixed that in the final release.In lFR condition (in the soup).. The Bloom has that same problem. I wanted the Bloom...so when I break out of the soup..I can see the lights in all its glory. IT works for a while..and then all I get is a white screen...erasing my VC as well. When I turn off the bloom, I get my VC back.I have ActiveSky.. when It sends a new weather station data (visibility change etc)... It triggers the problem I suspect. Hi,During the refresh (loading Wx stations) process FSX stutters and spits and coughs. :) I am using Wideclient 7 with ASV6.5 on the client computer. I think it might be a FSUIPC issue as I get a similar, albeit much smaller, affect without ASV. Any other wideclient users with a similar problem? Thanks.Bob..

I first purchased AS4.5 and then purchased the upgrade to ASV. I had updated that and upgraded to AS6. I am now doing a clean FS9 install and I need to reinstall ActiveSky. I am hoping that I don't need to reinstall every version up to 6.5! Is there are full download available that will bring me up to the current version?

Will AS6.5 be available on CD?Rather than purchasing Ver 6 (for FS9) then installing the 6.5 patch.Less problems if it ever has to be reinstalled. Wont have to worry about weather or nor FS9 is currently installed.

I'm runnig FS9 not FX I downloaded the ASv6.5 and now it will not download weather it was working just great before I downloaded 6.5 is there something I can do to fix this, I do have the registered version of FSUIPG installed.Dennis OKTPA

Hi,Currently my system is using FS9 and AS4.5No problems with FPS 25-30.With FSX my system gets 15-20 FPS using default MS weather.Now I am considering the purchase of AS6.5 to use with both FS9 and FSX. I know I am long overdue for an upgrade.I would like to know if there would be a FPS performance hit for FS9 and FSX. What could be expected using AS6.5?Because I have not upgraded to ASV or AS6 I do not know if FPS were basically the same, higher, or lower between these versions.My last option would be to wait until my system is upgraded or I get a new one.Dell 3GHz, 1Gb, PCI express 128Mb.

First, I want to appologize to Jim and Damian up front for publicizing my particular method of using ASv6.5 with both FS9 & FSX as this may cause support problems. It is not intentional but, I think it's an easier method of dealing with external programs to simultaniously support both FS9 and FSX. I thought it worth mentioning.Please note, I use a WideFS setup for both FS9 and FSX and this is written to exactly that extent. Hi, I've just upgraded to ASV6.5 and noticed I have problem with the UTC time display. I've set my FS time to within first few hours of the loaded past weather file (20-Oct, with TAF processing enabled, but saw that the Metar reported in FS via ATIS shows as 24-Oct during enroute. When tuned to 122.0, it sometimes show as 24-Oct (with a Zulu time that is totally out of sync with my flying time), sometimes 20-Oct, during enroute points, but the destination point initially shows correctly as 20-Oct (but the time is always unchanged at 1653Z -- flight time starts at 18:00), then changing to 24-Oct as I get near the destination.I have never encounter such problem previously b…

If I'm flying online with VATSIM, and have the VATSIM Online Weather Box Checked, will I still get any value by having the Force Destination WX Zone box checked, or will AS just apply the VATSIM METARS to the various stations?Put another way, does using the VATSIM Online Weather option just substitute VATSIM METARS for the downloaded METARS, before doing any additional processing?Best wishes,Tim

Hello all,It has become apparent that there is confusion as to how to go about "installing ASv6.5 into FSX".That in itself is confusing, because ASv6.5 is an external program that no longer cares which version of FS you have. It simply connects to FSUIPC and communicates with FS9 or FSX appropriately. It doesn't need to be installed "into" FSX.As for the physical installation location, this is NOT important. Most users with ASv6 already have it installed within their FS9 folder structure. It can remain here or if moving it is desired, it can be uninstalled/reinstalled to the desired new location. While pressing Gepro in Asv6 it says:"Fs must closed to use Gepro submissions"and fs9 is closed !!!anyone got any idea what is wrong please ?

I'm hoping someone can shed some light on this. I'm having difficulty getting active radar to function. Nothing happens when I press Ctrl and F12 per the instructions. I had it working with a previous install of Active Sky 6.5. But I recently deleted the program and reinstalled it because I was having other issues that have since been corrected. Now, for some reason, Active Radar will no longer initialize when hitting this key combination. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!The Captain

ASv6 constantly says that FS is Disconnected. Even if I load a flight plan, it still says "FS is not connected yet, Flight plan departure coordinates have been loaded" FSUIPC 3.7.0.0. registered is in the Module folder. I also see no change at all when i start FS.enyone now's what this can be?
