Hi..Like a number of others here I'm getting back to the sim after a layoff. I am using AS2004 Build 193 via WideFS with FS9. I also am fiddling around with FSX until the best way to upgrade becomes clearer.I want to try AS6 and but don't want to give up AS2004 until I'm sure I'm satisfied with how AS6 is performing (AS2004 works well).Can I put both versions on the same client machine and use them without conflict?Your advice is appreciated.ThanksJeb

Is there a way I can verify that AS Graphics has actually placed the AS textures in my texture folder? Heres's why I want to check:I have FS installed on both my main PC and on my WideClient PC, during the istallation I mistakenly pointed the texture file updater at the WideClient FS texture File, instead of my main FS texture file. To fix it I tried to restore the WideClient FS file back to the original textures and then point the texture updater to the Main PC FS texture file. The problem I am having is the button on the texture updater is stuck on Restore Original FS texture file. It takes its time and displays a message that it is running, but I don't know for sure…

Hidee Ho Fellow Travelers...Recently installed ActiveSky/ActiveSky Graphics. I also have been using Flight Envir. (v3 update). I've been trying to understand all the instructions, setup panels, etc, etc. and at 62 yrs. of age, that's quite a feat!! Question....How do I know if I'm using the ASG clouds/sky or my FE clouds/sky stuff? Is there a way to switch between the two so that I can see the differences and decide which of the two products I might want to use as my primary cloud/sky textures source? I mean, I push and click on icons and radio buttons on various setup panels in the products and when it's all said and done and I go flying, I don't know which product I'm…

Are these two truly independent variables in FSX? The recurring problem with all versions of MSFS is a low overcast sky is impossible without reducing the visibility. I tried the demo upon release and the problem still existed. *sigh*If possible please post an image with low ifr conditions of 300 ft ceiling and 10sm visibility. Ideally the overcast layer will remain solid down to 300 ft.

As I am not able to fly "real time" that much (else I would have a lot of night hours logged!)- I do all of my flying "in the past" where I will download a long series of weather files from AS6 (usually 1 complete day or a few days' worth) and fly during that timeframe.I seem to have a difficulty when doing this, however, as I am constantly fighting a battle between the FS clock and the System clock and AS6. After quite a few years of trouble free use of WxRE I finally bought AS6 today.WxRE was worth every penny I paid, but WOW!!!! AS6 is something else. This looks amazing :-)I very rarely posted here before because I never realy had any problems with WxRE. I'm sure I'll be more than satisfied with my new toy :-)Keep up the good work guys!Gavin

Just recently installed ASv6. I seem to be a litle confused about AS Graphics. I did read the manual. I can not seem to get this working if I understand it correctly. I open ASv6 and then click AS Graphics. I pick a weather situation, e.g. dew point. I then Choose "load into FS". After a short time, I get a confirmation message that it loaded OK. FS is running at the time. Now this is my question. Is this selected theme (dew point) supposed to automatically appear as the weather in FS? How am I supposed to see what I selected? I know I must be doing somwthing wrong or not understanding what ASG is supposed to do?Thanks, AL

Hello,all of a sudden, now that I have reinstalled everything, I can't get my ASv6 SU5 to update with FSBuild. Is there a known problem that FSBuild doesn't take wind info from ASv6 anymore maybe?Thanks,Xander

I just purchased ASv6 and GEPro. I opened AS and first set online to off. I opened weather configurator and set it at overcast. Clicked on GEPro and set textures. Then opened FS. I keep getting this message that says Main Thread Process Error...Retrying at next interval.What does this mean?Thanks, Al

I'm going to be transferring AS6 to a new pc. I see that I have AS6 upgrade version, AS5 upgrade version and other versions going back 2 years. I don't suppose there's a quick way of doing this is there?

I just updated to the latest version of as6. While flying, every 10 minutes or so (sometimes longer/shorter) the green message bar at the top of the screen shows up with a scrolling message on the closest METAR. Is there a way I can disable these scrolling messages?

after 2 years,i finally got some spare cash to spend on AS,and i have been flying all day today.i don't know how i got along without it,that gold star shoulda been platinum with diamonds :)do have a question though,i do a lot of low level flying,at about 1000 feet,with the coastguard herc,NOAA P3 and some JCG aircraft(mostly twin turboprops)is it possible to set update suppresion below 500 feet?or would that give a lot of trouble when landing?thanks and cheers on a fabulous addon,JP.

Hi All,I am not sure yet but it seems that since I have upgraded to the SU5 release I get a Memory Low message on both my #1 PC running FS and the #2 PC running ASV via FSUIPC. It usually runs like normal for about an hour or so and goes through multiple online refresh cycles. Has anyone else seen this since upgrading or knows of a simple way to troubleshoot short of going back to before SU5 ???Any tips appreciated.

Hi! Running ASVE 6 and I am very satisfied.. but there is one thing that bothers me! When the METAR report states that the weather is all overcast, and that its shouldnt be able to see the ground when over the cloud level, I still have this nice weather, with only a couple of clouds below, but it gets overcast when I approach the altitude where the clouds are reported... Can anyone tell me why its never possible to have the sky completely filled up with clouds(so much its not possible to see any ground), what shall I do with my settings etc??

Good day! First time I've ran into anything like this since I upgraded to ASV6. During a final into KPDX, there was a B1900D sitting on the taxiway next to my runway waiting for me to land. As I got close and passed by the B1900D, I got a lot of wake turb from that a/c that almost made me lose control. I don't have ehanced wake turb on, just the normal wake turb. Does ASV take into account that the a/c generating the wake turb is on the ground or just that it's in the vicinity of my a/c? Also, I don't think a turboprop will generate that much wake turb on a A300-600. :-) Thanx!-Rick

I bought Active Sky 5 when it first came out, but couldn't use it because of performance issues. Now I have the processing power I need to run it smoothly. Do I have to buy AS6 or is it a free upgrade? Also what other files should I download for the best AS6 experience? Thanks!!!

Hi Jim,As a feedback, I 'd like to report that all Metars of HSSS for the last 2 weeks refer to Khartoum temp/dew point as low as 09/09, which appears to be rather unlikely in such a place, where there are temperatures between +25*C to +50*C almost all the year round.Secondly, I 'd like know whether (in online ASv6 mode) the FS9 ATC would reverse the rwy in use, if the wind changed dramatically.Thanks,Sotiris.

Just started again and ran into this problem.)I am running the current ASv6 (build 523.)When ASv6 does its first automatic update *after* I have started my flight, FS9 minimizes. HelloI am installing FS2004 on a new drive on my PC and am trying to install my copy of ASV.I appear to have around 8-10 ASV files including setup, updates etc which will take ages to install! Is there ONE single up to date ASV file I can download to reinstall the program without spending ages going through each update?
