Hi,I'd like to purchase activie sky. Are the download versions now 6.5 or do I download a precious version then get the upgrade patch to 6.5? Also does this download support borth fs9 & fsx? I am still using fs9 and will sometime down the road change to fsx. Many thanks,Dave

I've just hit a brick wall. I decided since I had an extra computer laying around that I would attempt to network it together and use ActiveSky over widefs. So, I followed the big post as best as I could. WideFS will connect over the network. All logs show no issues as far as I can tell. I can open files on both sides. My XP Media version will not let me share my program files folder - period. So I had to create a different map starting at the Microsoft games folder so that I could reach the fs9 folder without any problems. Here's the process I go through to start it all up. HiI assume if I have a default airport selected in the Options that if I load up Activesky and download weather (without FS9 started) that the weather displayed in closest station should be that airport?I have YSSY selected as my default airport (and checked this in asv.ini)yet each time I download wx the airport DGTK wx is displayed?Any help appreciated

Hey GuysI have been using FSBuild and ASV6 for some time now. I haven't really paid attention to Winds aloft and I recently noticed that I get no Winds Data in Fsbuild from ASV6. I have the path to ASV set in FSBuild so I am wondering what I am doing wrong or have set incorrectly possibly. BTW I run a Widefs setup with FSbuild on a different PC than what ASV6 is on. I have a drive mapped and then in Fsbuild use that drive and drill down to the ASV Folder on the Widefs PC.Here's my process:1)Open ASV and download the current weather.2) Open FSbuild and plan my route. I have been trying for days without success to figure out why I don't get turbulence in FSX. I went through the forums, documentation and new install only to get more frustrated. The weather displays alright in FSX. When I used VATSIM weather I get turbulence I switch to AS for the same conditions and it's very smooth. I have FSUIPC4 correctly installed and registered. I have tried all the possible options in FSX, ASV6.5 and FSUIPC4 and look at different ini, cfg and log files and could'nt see what I am doing wrong. I have been using ASv6.5 for awhile now and it is a great add on. I am now considering adding GE Pro. A few questions:1. For those using ASv6.5 is there that much of a noticeable difference in the quality of and realistic appearance of ground (vs. default FS9 textures) and sky textures when adding GE Pro while continuing to use AS weather and AS graphics?2. When adding GE Pro, what needs to be revised in the ASv6.5 "options" to facilitate a smooth integration of the two. Do I check or uncheck the following?- Enable GE Pro submit on new FP- Force Sky-GE Pro checked or ASG checked-which one?- Use fetched station for GE Pro3. Any other AS "options" I need to make sure are c…

I have a problem with AS in that when I download my weather to FS2004 everything seems fine, the atis message is correct with the current winds but atc does not update to use the correct runway.I do have auto refresh ai on first wx set checked.any ideas? ThanksEd

Not sure if this was asked before. Considering the known weather limitations of FS2004, at this moment ActiveSky provides all I can think of. This made me wonder what you guys have in store for us in future releases. Just curious... ;-)

I currently have GEPro on the Server, and AS tells me that it is not installed. Is that because they will only integrate if GEP is on the Client?Do I have to install the base GE on the Client too?

When I try to load up ASV6 with FS9 running I get a warning from FSUIPC and the above in my FSUIPC.log. Hello, I have the latest build of Active Sky 6.5 Build 552 for FS2004 and when I hit Cntrl-F12. I do not get the Active Radar screen. Can someone help please and if there is a problem with this version which is the best version to go back to or the latest so I have the Active Radar? Thanks, Josh

You are in instrument conditions and in a second almost all weather is gone.Can't you verify if the change of weather is too big and then don't pass it to FS?Some times it gets very unrealistic :(Regards,M. Hi,I've found what appears to be a glitch when using ActiveSky for offline weather.It seems that ActiveSky always uses the system time when deciding on a metar for the initial location in FS.For example, I have saved a flight that starts at 1000Z on March 19 at El Alto airport (SLLP) in Bolivia.I follow this procedure:1. Start ActiveSky paused.2. Load wx file 20070319_10Z_archive.dat3. Process the previously prepared flight plan (SLLP to SETN).4. Click 'Refresh' so ActiveSky can update the FS graphics while FS is closed.5. Start FS.6. I need some advice. I had to reinstall FS9 and when I tried to load AVS it would look for a .msi file.Unfortunately, my unwrapped ASV was held on a back-up drive that has developed a fault. I purchased ASV6 back in June 2005.

Hi can anyone help, Have just upgraded to Vista and now Activesky has stopped working.It is installed on second machine and uses WideFS to access FS9I get WideFS connection ok and AS starts ok, but seems to be sticking on try to connect to HIFI DATANET, any ideas?Paul

When running the installation program, it tries to install .NET Framework 1.1 even though 3.0 is part of Vista. 1.1 is not compatible with Vista so the installation fails and aborts.Is there any way to work around this?TIACrashGordon

Why isn't it working since I upgraded to 6.5 SU1? No matter if I set 59, 39 or 29, all the same in FS.

Weather is different by day and night. In certain parts of the world, you will invariably encounter winds during the day which calm in the evening and there is almost no wind at night. This is especially true in the tropics and around large bodies of water. Now, the way ActiveSky downloads weather, I always get real weather, 1-2 hour old as far as I understand it, but it is in no way linked to the time of day I am actually flying in. Thats no problem if I were to always fly in my time zone of course, but not so ideal for those of us exploring the world. I'd rather have local time-linked weather than the 'latest' weather file. Guys, normally my ASv6 is on the client PC (via wideFS). I'm reinstallng OS/FS9 on the main PC and thinking to install GEPro on the client, next to ASv6. Will GEPro work from the Client pc? I used to have it on the main PC, but I noticed that I could not manage GEPro from ASv6 on 2 different PCs.Thanks.
