Hello all,I recently purchased a registration for the lastest FSUIPC.I was wondering if anyone can give the best settings for wind smoothing so I can set it up when I recieve my registration. I really lookjing forward to this espectially on flights from Europe to the US? Has anyone tried flying a flight either westbound or eastbound after registering your FSUIPC. What were your findings? Hello,Today I was flying into kmco with scattered clouds and good visibility but on very short final just about the cross over the numbers I was in the fog, any settings I should change that might prevent this because it has been happening alot in Florida lately.

Searched the forum - can't see an answer. Are all the AS6 updates cumulative? Can I delete previous updates (which I archive as zip files for future use in case of the need to reinstall) for AS6 each time a new one is issued? I have a file called ASv6-SU5.zip for instance which I assume is now redundant?ThanksM.

It happens rather too frequently at the moment that I start a flight, go through ATC procedures, taxi, take off and am half-way to cruise level before AS6 suddenly changes from clear skies to a mass of clouds. Obviously the loading time is way off what it should be.I start up AS6 paused, load my offline Wx file, process my flight then click refresh. Any ideas why the weather can sometimes take up to a quarter of an hour to load up? Jim,I think it worked a couple of times, but now, after I process a new flight plan in AS6, GEPro is not automatically started w/auto-submit of textures. If I click the GEPro button within AS6, it does start and prompts for texture updates. Have you seen this before?I've got AS6 and GePro running on a WideFS client.-michael

It's exciting to be able to use one of my all-time favorite add-ons, ActiveSky, with FSX. The only hiccup I've noticed is when AS is writing new weather to the sim; when that happens, my framerates fall from about 20 to about 9. When the writes finish, the fps goes up again. I've tried disabling throttling, but that doesn't seem to make a difference.Any suggestions? I have a Core2Duo 6600, with FSX running on one core and ASv6.5 running on the other core.

I just recently purchased AS and am enjoying it very much. Still a lot to learn and play around with though.Question: On printing out the enire weather report for a flight plan, the nav log has a couple of abreviations I'm not sure of.After DIST (Distance) there appears MC & MH. I believe these are reference headings, MC (Magnetic Compass?), MH (Magnetic Heading?).I appreciate very much some clarification and how these are used in flight.Jim

When entering to and from airports on the AS desktop screen and try to enter them for use in FS9, it says that FS9 is not connected. What do I need to do?

Hello ASV team,Been using and loving your product for a few years now and I have noticed in the last little while some degredation while ASV6.5 is in use.Starting in the default flight at KSEA I have the following FPS count(locked at 33FPS):28 FPS avg. FS Stormy Weather28 FPS avg. FS Fair Weather28 FPS avg. FS Real Weather14 FPS avg. ASV6.5 WeatherI have included 2 SS, the 1st being FS9 "Real Weather" and the 2nd being ASV6.5, which by the way looks much better than the default FS real weather.I have included my ASV6.ini file and my FS9.cfg weather file. I see this option listed in the last two updates and it refers to how to use it is in Chapter 6: Multiple .ini's of the documentation but I cannot find that anywhere. Is there info on this option that i am missing?steve

Does FSX's 'rate of change over time' slider in the weather settings affect how ActiveSky produces weather over the course of a flightplan? i.e. does AS produce it's own timed changes and updates that therefore require the 'rate of change' setting to be switched off to prevent interference?If so, then it seems to have to be done every time I fly because the slider always defaults back to about a quarter switched on although the global weather setting is 'User Defined'.Is this how it normally should be?Thanks,Vox

Hi, New to AS and as always there are questions. Only one right now though.In attempting to download weather for a saved flight plan and produce a complete nav log, the process is taking forever or locking up and not completeing. I started one, left for over an hour, and on returning, it was frozen on one of the reporting weather stations and never completed. Tried again with same results, although I wasn't going to wait another hour.According to the instuction manual this should only take a couple of minutes, maybe up to five.Any ideas? I'm on DSL so it's not the connection speed at issue here.Thanks for any advice and help.JimP.S. I'm flying FS9 and on XP

HiFirst off many many Thanks for a great app! It really adds a lot to fs2004.How do I set it up to just use the 3d clouds and nothing else?If I select the weather influenced full sky theme and try to uncheck the snow, rain, runway lights,..... they are rechecked the next time I look at the settings. How do I make my custom settings stick.Also, I can't seem to have NO full sky themes checked. There is always one selected. The reason I ask is because I'm wondering if it's possible to just use the default weather from fs2004 with active sky (make no changes to graphics)I hope the answer to these aren't too obvious. :-newbie

Hi guys,I was out of town on a business trip this week and I'm now trying to find the weather archives of this week's snow-storm in the NorthEast U.S.. I'm looking for a range of dates and times for the best, heaviest, squaliest (is that a word?) snow for the PA, NY, MA area. I can't seem to find a good historical radar loop to pin-point the heavest snow rates. My active sky won't connect to FS. This problem doesn't make any difference if i use widefs or install active sky at the same pc as FS.I'm using activesky 6.5 build 533. FSUIPC and WideFS are the latest versions.Does somebody have an idea what the problem is?

I just finished building a new box, with a 10K HD just for FSX. I need to move AS to the new machine. Is it as simple as copying the existing .exe over to the new machine, or is there more to it?Also, I think I'll also be moving FS9 over to a different drive on the new box. At the end of the day, I want to use AS 6.5 for both FS9 and FSX. What all do I need to do to accomplish this?

Hi,I have a question that is not specific to ActiveSky but is regarding the "WideFS/ASv6 Extensive Info" post to this forum. The writer indicated that he was running FSbuild on the FS9/Wideserver pc instead of the wideclient pc.My questions are: Can FSbuild be installed and ran on the wideclient pc? Will it still communicate the winds aloft data to AS6? Is there any advantage to having it on the wideserver computer or is it just a matter of preference?I have it installed on the wideclient pc now, and the only apparent problem is that it will not export flight plans into the wideserver "flight simulator files" folder. I'm having problems using ASv6.5 in both FS9 and FSX (since I fly with both). Things seem to work well in FS9 - but not in FSX, where weather data simply isn't loading. FSUIPC for FSX is installed, so that can't be the problem. I have read nearly everything about the topic on this forum - to no avail. I have active sky 6.5 and flight deck 4 installed. When I start as6.5 weather engine the installation program for flight deck 4 starts to run. If I cancel this (I have to do it twice) then active sky starts and everything works fine. A curious problem and I wondered if anyone knows what's causing it and possibly a fix. hii have moved to Vista and i am experiencing a slight problem.Vista does not have the c:document and settings folder. Due to this FS9 .cfg is not located there. With a trick i was able to relocate it. However, AS6.5 B533 is searching for the folder on startup. Every time i specify the default FS9 folder where i installed actually FS9. It keeps me prompting.
