I have my server computer running Vista Ultimate, FSX with SR1, SimConnect installed to SR1, my Client running XP Pro SR2, SimConnect installed to SR1. I have run the test program AI Traffic and it shows connected to Flight Simulator. ASX starts up and downloads weather but it does not send the data to FSX and FSX does not send data to ASX. This has been the problem I have had with FS Widgets for FSX also. The programs connect but no data transfer happens. On my Main Screen in ASX it goes through the download and all but never sends the data to FSX. I am thinking it is a XP/Vista communications issue of some sort. I have the SimConnect.XML and SimConnect.CFG files set up …

Hi StaffExellent job on the new graphics thus far but I wonder if you can advise on the following. My main PC is an E6600 Core 2 Duo running at 2.4 GHz, with 2 GB RAM and an nVidia 7950 GX2 and it runs FSX pretty well. This morning I loaded X-Graphics and ASX straight onto this pc and was very impressed with what I saw. This evening I got my head round what was necessary to run them from a second pc, uninstalled them and loaded them onto my laptop - an ageing Athlon XP 1500+ based system with just 256 MHz RAM. This was interesting. With everything properly set up it took the best part of 10 minutes to get ASX up and running, X-Graphics updated, then FSX started and, …

Greetings all,Thanks for ASX & X Graphics. It absolutely lives up to the marketing campaign & has me thoroughly enjoying the environment within FSX.Question: How are shear handled in upper level winds? Is there a section within the options interface that allows the user to specify a maximum rate of change in direction and velocity like the registered version of FSUIPC? Are the maximum and minimum wind shear sliders intended to address this issue? I only ask because the shear transitions within the SIM tend to be less dampened that with FS9/ASV6.5/FSUIPC. Thanks,Ryan

First off, Thanks guys for the great package all around - and you finally got that buy button working !! :-beerchug Couple of questions (have the bundle)I am getting minimal weather/cloud generation in many cases not matching the metar at the airport, or its well off in the distance. I notice this for airports that have a written metar, but the surounding is all interpolated. BKN generates about 1 maximum 2 cloud groups (stratus or other). Here's an example snapped after ASX gave the "all done" message (there is only a "single" cell CB cloud at about 5 oclock in the pic, but its way off about 30miles and not raining at the apt) Ideas? (Sliders in FSX are detailed, max and…

Hi there,When I'm using the Xgauge and I click on a toggle button, say Airports, the message "Image updating..." (or similar) appears, after which the image stays exactly the same. No matter what I click on nothing happens in fact. However if I close the Xgauge and open it again a couple of minutes later I see the changes. For testing I was using the default Cessna 172.Any ideas?Nice product by the way :)David.

First off, as I mentioned in another post ASX and X Graphics rock! Stunning graphics and virtually no hit on my framerates. I do have one question. As everyone knows, FS9 and FSX have screwey winds aloft where the wind direction and speed will walk around the compass rose creating havok for us virtual pilots or change direction 180 degrees then back again in a matter of seconds. AS6 fixed this in FS9 but does ASX fix it in FSX?John

Just downloaded and installed the bundle. The only problem is when i open ASX or XG the menu list is correct but the option menu is shrunk and off center cutting of the apply, cancel, and other button/sliders. Ive tried different resolutions, restart, reinstall, etc. I have all .NET installed, 1.1, 2, 3. Please help, it works great, I would just like to change settings. See Pictures attached for screen shot examples.Thank Youhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/172869.ziphttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/172870.zip

I want to be sure that the backup of my default FSX textures is part of my drive backup regimen. However, I can't seem to locate where this backup is stored on my hard drive. I know such a backup was created because I was able to restore my default FSX textures using it. Or at least that's what I thought I was doing. But I just can't seem to locate the file, which I presume is a Zip file. I've looked in what I think are all of the HiFi folders and done a search on the file name "initial_backup" but I still can't seem to locate the file. So what's the secret location? Thanks, Robert

Hey Guys !Coudn't wait till today and it's like Christmas. Networked install of the bundle went fine. Did a couple of quick flights and loved the graphics additions. Had to change to daytime as I couldn't wait till morning :). I use Track IR4, have Jeppesen Simcharts installed as well as EFBFSX and FSINN which are all accessed from the Add-Ons drop down Just noticed that since installing ASX and XG this evening I no longer have the drop down menu for Add-Ons.Just wondering if you guys have run into this during testing at all and if so what do I need to do? I am not even going to mess with anything tonight as it's late. Learned along time ago not to play with things when y…

Like most, I'm playing around with the package and trying different settings, etc. I noticed two things - 1) I have 3rd party a/c in a subfolder SimObjects/Aircraft - none of the a/c in that folder had XGauge installed automatically. I was able to install it manually however. Also, the installer claimed to have successfully installed XGauge in all a/c except the AI. My guess is that it didn't look at that folder, which *is* listed in SimObjects.Paths in the FSX.cfg file.Second thing - In all the testing I closed down ASX rather than minimize after a change. Started FSX. loaded a/c and activated XGauge. It loaded fine, powered up fine but I was unable to get any updates to…

I just installed ASX. I received error messages, during installation, indicating the wizard could not install the gauge in my Wilco Feelthere A320 aircraft. I read the FAQ indicating I should manually install it, but would appreciate some more detailed instructions. Could you please explain exactly what I must do to manually install the gauge? Thank you. I am looking forward to using the software in my A320.Craigjjs

Hi guys!I see you all have been very busy. I haven't been around for some time. Anyway, congrats on the new release. It looks fantastic and I want to purchase it right away. I have just a couple of questions and I apologize if they've already been answered. 1. Using simconnect...does this mean the new interface is available in game, so we don't have to load up ActiveSky before we launch FSX?2. I saw a couple of post about T-storms but never did find any screenshots. Were you able to develope some nice looking CB's?Thanks again guys....credit card waiting :)Best Regards,Randy

Hello Damian - Team!Since I could not install ASX, I decided to give X-Graphics a run. X-Graphics did install but when I launch the program, the initialization screen pops up and then goes away and the program does not launch.Any clues on this one?Sincerely,Dennis D. Mullert

Hi all,I am debating purchasing ASX for several reasons. One of them is how well it simulates(creates) IFR weather. I am considering using FSX for IFR related training/procedures and would like to have something as close to real-life IFR conditions as possible.I know with FS9, creating a realistic IFR environment was difficult, if not impossible as you could still see through the layers (at least on my setup). In my experience with FS9, I could never truly have a zero visibility condition. Can someone post some screenshots of FSX with ASX while in IFR conditions? Thanks!Dave

Getting a Exception Received : 14 error after it loads the weather file and it just keeps pumping out that error in the bottom right pane. I am running a client/server setup and it loaded up and ran fine for the first hack. Having problems getting weather to depict properly. Initially everything looked good on initial load up weatehr wise but when I fly around it seems the wind and weather are not even close to the stations as I approach them. I am seeing winds greater than 90 degrees off from what they should be.Steve

:-yellow1 :-yellow1 Hello to all, thought i would have to let you know about my recent purchase..I know some would argue that the price tag for this is expensive.. However considering all the time and effort that has gone into this product i feel thats it's justified. I can only praise the whole team for a superply put together package. it works for me withouta problem and improves FSX beyond belief. The clouds are realistic and its now a joy to find bad weather to see what Active Sky X and X Graphics will do with it. I took a flight out of Denver last night amid Lighting and turbulence never experienced before. Once again "Thanks to Everyone at HiFi". If i did have a sma…

Hello,I just purchased the bundle last night. Didn't had the chance to install it yet, but I have a small question. Is it possible to share the bitmap for the cd cover? So I can make a nice cd for the downloaded program.I'm a long time user of your previous versions and looking forward using the new version, keep up the good work you are doing.Best, Rob van der WieleBoeing Cockpit Projecthttp://members.chello.nl/~r.vanderwiele/

Hi, (I hope this doesn't post multiple times - I'm having trouble posting in this forum tonight) I'm interested in ASX but wondered if you could clarify how it handles thermals please? I love soaring about the place in FSX.I note something along the lines of "FSX-integrated vertical air, turbulence and dynamic wx changes" in ASX, but I wondered could you expand on what that means please from the perspective of free-flight soaring.cheerssmithcorp
