I will be getting a new rig shortly and I was wondering, in order to re-install ASV6.5 or transfer to another computer will I need my original registration key to do so? Or I was thinking could I simply transfer the entire ASv6 folder from my mirror drive (external F: drive) where I have backed up my current C: drive? Regards,Tom

Yesterday morning, just around day-break at KJFK, there was a very thick fog generated by ASX. Extremely realistic! However, as I was taxiing with full lights, FSX decided that it was now daytime and all the lights on the taxiway signs turned off so that I couldn't find my way at all. I found that, by waiting a few minutes, I could get temporary clearances in the fog sufficient to find my line-up position for takeoff. As real as it gets?Cheers, Richard

The haze effect I have been experiencing appears to be an intermitant problem. Without changing any settings, or weather changes for that matter, I get two different views. So based on a commmercial utility review-see web address http://www.avsim.com/pages/0707/ASX/ASX.pdf, I tried adjusting the visibility sliders to reduce the haze effect and determined that any adjustments had no impact. When I set both maximum visibities to zero I was expecting a fogged in scenario but nothing, and setting both to the max didn't give any further sight distance or clarity either.Interestingly enough, I downloaded and installed FSUICP 4 yesterday and since then I have not had any haze ef…

Hi,I am about to re-install ASX onto a new system. I have my old e-mail file and can find several e-mails with invoices, receipts, etc., and a download link that has expired, but I can't seem to find a key in the e-mails. Would it be possible to get a new key?Thanks- Bruce.

I've got ASX and XGraphics installed onto XP Pro. Clean install of everything since it's a new computer. ASX & XGraphics start fine when logged into the user account they were initially installed on. When I try to start them when logged in as different user (both user accounts have full admin permissions) I get the error message from ASX: XEngine installation path not found... Please re-install. When I try to start XGraphics it gives the message MS .Net Framework: Unhanded exception has occurred in your application. Could not find a part of the path "D:Documents & SettinsawlApplication DataHiFiXGraphicsXGraphics_Log.txt"How can I get these 2 apps to work under …

Hi, Ive been using asx for some time now and it just isnt working right. The problem is the way weather is displayed. Before each flight I check the radar image, the sat image, and metars for the route from aviationwaether.gov. By the time I start flying I have a good idea of what the weather is going to look like, or should look like. The problem is that asx just isnt displaying weather correctly. Problem #1During the cruise at 350 or so the visibility will go from unlimited to what you see in the above picture. I have tried turning fog sim on/off, virtual stations on/off and visibility graduation on/off, but it doesnt help my situation. The other main problem is th…

Is there a way suppress weather changes within a certain range in ASX? This feature was in 6.5Thanks

At KSPS on 0700Z on 04 April the weather that was in ASX and the metar was not reflected in FSX. The weather in the ATIS (not 122.00) was omitting the cloud cover and the rain. As soon as I stopped ASX, the overcast appeared and the rain started. The METAR from FSX and ASX weather seemed to be out of sink.I am running FSX SP1 and ASX SP3 with all items set to default. I eneter FSX through ASX.Bill

differences on winds between AS6.5 and ASX ?Hi,after a flight from EDDT to KPHX several questions came up . . . again!1. To my understanding the winds in both systems are SPOT winds and notFORECAST winds - am I correct? For a 12 hour flight in RW the dispatcher would use FORECAST winds to calculate such a long flight, where some areas will be reached 8 to 10 hours AFTER preparation!Would it be possible to issue some sort of forecast model in future releases of AS ? It would increase the quality extremly. Metars are also issued as spot and fcst . . .2. I noticed some differences between AS6.5 and ASX for the route - sometimes VERY little differences, but there are some HEA…

Hi,I experience the following problem:After a few minutes of operating, ASX seems to deliver no more data to the flight simulator (cloudy skies suddenly clear up, although broken clouds and rain are reported in the Report section and the map)In the log file on the main screen the following line appears every 1-2 seconds:[Time]: Wake effect activated... Strength Factor: 1[Time]: Wake effect activated... Strength Factor: 1[Time]: Wake effect activated... Strength Factor: 1[Time]: Wake effect activated... Strength Factor: 1and so on.What's the problem? How can I solve it?Thanks for help!

Guys, I'm thinkikng to buy this fine product, but I'm worried about additional performance load on FSX SP2, in the environment, where every frame counts already. I understand it does not run on a client PC, so I'm very reluctant to launch any additional module and process. Any thoughts or comments on that? Thanks,Dirk.Core2 Extr. 6800, 8800GT, 4Gb, WinXPSP2, FSX SP2.

Hi,I am using Active Sky X, Flight Environment X (and GEX, UTX, etc. etc.) with FSX Deluxe.Last night I did a flight from KIAD to KDFW - and I saw weird cloud/precipitation - it was heavy rain and cloudy, flying over it at FL350 - from up high, it appeared to be small, blobby cirrus clouds - not too overcast, but if you changed to Tower view, then it was heavy rain... the weather map in ASX showed pretty overcast conditions.I wonder if there's a mismatch happening between the FEX and ASX textures? Just not very realistic with the small, spaced clouds and heavy rain. Once I got to KDFW, there were thunderstorms - the lightning effects at night were great, but again the clo…

I do not get the wind from these stations in my FSX as you can see on the screenshot.Crossing the pond from east to west last station is somewhere in Ireland and the next windupdate was station CWMH somewhere in Canada in 2xx nm range.

Just encountered a new problem with AS6.5 build 533. When I load a flight plan and then process, AS hangs on "calculating closest weather stations". Tried with different flight plans, etc. AS works fine if I don't load a flight plan. Has the program dropped a data bit somewhere? Do I need to do a reinstall and how do I do that? Mike

I have AS6.5 and have been having a problem with the downloaded weather taking a long time to finish loading. After starting FS9 and starting AS, the initial loadup of the current weather is normal. When it's finished, I download archived weather from several months ago, and upon returning to the startup screen, it takes several minutes for the updated or archived weather to complete loading. Thinking the program crashed, since I already downloaded the weather I needed, I tried to reload with the Load WX button, and get a file not found message. Only after re-downloading did it finally load but at a very slow speed. I originally had version 6 but after updating to 6.5…
