After several years of trouble free use I have to reinstal my OS, I upgraded through AS 4 to 6.5 and as such AS6 in particular looks for a previous install of AS5, not really wishing to install more than I have to, is there a way of installing AS to the latest version (for FS9) without having to go through 5 or six steps, in other words a stand alone AS 6 or 6.5 installer I can download and run?

I have just purchased a registered copy of FSUIPC, registered it in FS, restarted FS, and now SB3 is getting goofy. It gives me the following message: "The squawkbox module was unable to start because FSUIPC could not be initialized. Ensure FSUIPC is properly installed and restart Flight Simulator to try again."Anyone able to shed light on this one?

Everything goes fine, until pushback. The nose of the plane will rise up as soon as I let go of the parking brakes, causing a tail fire. Everything was working prior to XPax. Below is a picture (not representative of the airline, its pilots, and/or its members).I am using FSX on my main computer, and XPax on my laptop (SimConnect). Everything is set up properly, including the installation of SimConnect RTM/SP1a/SP2. Below are my specs:Flight Simulator Computer: Intel E6550 2.33GHz Processor nVidia 8800GTS Superclocked Graphics Card 2GB RAM MSI P6N Diamond Motherboard Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bitXPax Computer: HP tx1000z Laptop 2GB RAM Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit

Hi guys,I've just moved up to a QUAD Core with Nvid 8800GTS5648(?) 4GB RAM Win Xp32 yada yada.I meticulously uninstalled all FSX stuff from the old rig (congrats to the missus on her new rig ;-)I've reinstalled to the new rig and .....FSX looks remarkably similar to the old one.I must have missed something - I have the bundle ASX/XGAs mentioned in a few other posts - your documentation is quite slim.So on behalf of all ASX/XG users, what exactly can I do settings wise to get the best effects v framerate possible from your product.I know the options are limitless and all but just give me a for instance. If I do all the missions in FSX and Acceleration in order most of which…

Hey All.I recently purchased ASX, and since then I have had to un-install FSINN in order to get FSX up and runing. When FSINN is installed FSX just goes to the start up screen momentarily and then disapears after a few seconds. Has anyone else encounters this problem? If so what is the solution as I really like the addition of ASX, but miss my on-line flying as the ATC maked the experiance more realistic. Thanks alot,Justin R.

When I fly in an area covered by VFR Photographic Scenery I don't want X-Graphics scenery to show. Even if I don't start XG, the proper photoreal scenery doesn't appear. This problem didn't occur before I installed ASX/XG. Any suggestions?

Hi there!I have a question does AS6 overrides the visbility setting that i have in FS? Because i've found that when flying at high altitudes ( above 300 for example ) if i increase the maximum visibility in FS9 actually i get the opposite thing. Everything looks grey. So im not sure if im foing something wrong. I only have Visibility Smoothing and fog layer checked. Also i've tried changing the maximum visibility but nothing changes in FS9.My question is which setting should i put in FS9?

Hello all,First posting on this forum, so please be tolerant.I have two systems and have WideFS + registered FSUIPC.System 1 Vista os with ASKY installed working as client on WideFSSystem2 XP os with FS9 & Asky installed. The initial set-up was done by a mate and my son, because to put it bluntly. My knowledge could be written on the back of a postage stamp i.e paths are what I walk on and maps I use to find the paths in the first place.Ok previous to installing GEPro on system2. I could fire up FS9 and start ASky on system1. I know the communications are working as I get the scroll bar showing weather updates etc on the System2 screen.Having installed GEPro, if I sta…

Quick questions and sorry if its been ask.I noticed some of my roads are jagged. 90% are not.I have UTX loaded and X-graphics.Do I need to do anything special or does whichever is loaded last over write the other? And while I am here.I also have GEX.Follow up- If any of these programs, X-Graphics,UTX,GEX ect have textures for simular features, roads, water, autogen, runways, lights ect, does the last one ran simply replace or overwrite the existing one or can they "double up" a texture leading to anomolies, problems or decreased performance. Thanks ahead of time. Despite the service pack the wind directions and speeds just are not consistantly accurate in the briefing compared to the actual sim. I am flying the plan but at each waypoint the wind speed and wind hdg are significantly off on the majority of points, this is causing havoc with my fuel calculations which i base on the wind derived from the the sim by the asx briefingkav

I experience uncontrollable turbulence since SP3. I have confirmed it is SP3 since I have uninstalled and reinstalled ASX up to SP2 three times now and I do not get the issue when using SP2. I am using FSUIPC registered 4.28 I see a post on the FSUIPC forum and I am just posting here so the good folks at HiFi know its happening. In the interim I will not use sp3 until resolved. Product works great anyways with sp2.

I'm sorry, but I find this discreet upper layer that is so visible from above, for example when flying thru mountain areas, to be awful. This was nicely eliminated in FS9. And, I understand this is something FSX does, not ASX per se. My work around is to change the upper limit in the advanced weather settings in FSX so that no longer do I see a discreet upper layer (whose edges dance around sometimes leading to a nasty fake appearance). Of course, as soon as ASX updates, that kills my work around. How about this, unless I'm the only one who cares: put a checkbox or slider or something in ASX settings that allows the user to define what the minimum upper limit altitu…

I'm in the processing of reinstalling my addons after reinstalling FSX. The question that I have is, can I install the ASX Service Pack 3 after installing my original ASX (on CD-ROM) without installing the prior update? Same with X Graphics?

Hi there.I have read the blurb and seen the screenshots on your (HiFi Sim) website but I still have a question. I've never ever had FS Passengers for FS9 because I came into the hobby with FSX. Anyway, is Xpax along similar lines to FS passengers. Do passengers scream for example if you scare them like I've heard they do in FS Passengers? I note that FS Passengers will soon be available for FSX but if X Pax is the same kind of product then I will stick with HiFi Simulation for the excellent support forum here if anything else. I already have ASX and X Graphics and I do like the look of the Interface on X Pax. One thing worries me a little bit. I note that I have to use "W…

HiAt the moment, when I use Active Sky 6.5, I use the current weather for my flights. However if I decided to select winter when chosing a season in FS9, even though in reality it's almost summer, will Active sky see that and create wintery weather or how do I go about creating wintery weather? Also is there any place to download wx files so maybe I can download some winter ones? Thanks

Have there been any users reporting ASX not respecting their Maximum Visibility setting?I had my upper level max visibility slider set to 31nm, and I flew through some airspace at FL32 where I could literally see for at least 100 miles in all directions. Am I missing something that is overriding this slider?RhettE8500, Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro, ASUS P5E3 Premium, BFG 8800GTX 756 (nVidia 169 WHQL), 4gb DDR3 1600 Patriot Cas7 7-7-7-20 (2T), PC Power 750, WD 150gb 10000rpm Raptor, Seagate 500gb, Silverstone TJ09 case, Vista Ultimate 64

I have been a user of ASv6.5 anf FS9 for some time without any problems but due to purchasing a new computer have moved to FSX(SP2) and ASX(SP3).I have noticed two problems, flying VFR at about 3000ft the ground can be very clear then suddenly the screen flickers slightly and there is a thin layer of mist over the ground shortly afterwards it flickers again and its crystal clear again. I'm not going through cloud unless it has suddenly popped up in front of me.Secondly, I have wind smoothing checked in a registered version of FSUIPC but the wind sometimes oscilates quite badly, recently between 260 - 007 degs with the nose of the aircraft trying to follow as this wouldn't…

After three satisfied years running ASV and AS6/6.5, I finally upgraded to ASX. So far I am very pleased. The only hiccup I have so far is the ASX program window, which is too big to display on my 1152 x 864 monitor. Since this is a .NET app, I am guessing that the problem is my fonts, which are set in Windows to 120% of normal; this often creates problems for .NET apps. In any case, I am looking for a work-around so that I can fit the window on my screen. Is it possible to resize the ASX program window, if not through the normal Windows interface, then through a registry or .ini edit? Thank you for your help.

Hi guys,I know that I have asked this kind of question before, but I am really confused, and searching the various forums, there seem to be so many different opinions.I have just about got my head around using AS with GEP (using As for WX and clouds, and GEP for terrain and skies), but now I want to add Flight Environment into the equation.Does FE interact with AS in the same way as GEP or not? I mainly want to use FE water textures, but the skies look quite nice as well...Can someone talk me through the process of using the 3 together? I want everything to be WX influened as far as possible. Including the water if it is possible? Many thanks,Martin
