HelloI have one problem. For example, when vatsim servers show metar from 2130Z, the AS see only metar from 2100Z. I tried to manually download a current weather for AS, but metar was still from 2100Z. I have enable vatsim weather and online updates. In some conditions this 30 minutes it's really critical... Any solution for that?regards

Heres a question I was hoping you could help me with....I do not, however, think this issue is caused by the Active Sky engine. When flying over mountainous terrain, fog or low clouds often fill the valleys below which looks cool. The only problem, however, is that it shimmers or flashes. This does not happen with clouds not in contact with ground scenery.I am using: FSX Windows Vista 64 bit NVIDIA GeForce 8 Series Card (latest Drivers) quad core CPUThanks, Kyle

Hello,I've noticed this problem in FSX (SP2) recently (under winxp). In vanilla condition the light cast by TAXI/LANDING lights of the stock and add-on aircrafts appear MUCH brighter before the first ASX/GX weather update. I tried different themes, but something obviously doesn't work out right. It looks like the first wx-influenced gfx update by ASX/GX almost kills the taxi/landing lights. Judge yourselves in the screenshots below. For the sake of experiment, I replaced my current FSX SP2 folder with my VANILLA FSX SP2 backup folder and replaced pertinent FSX's folder and files in Documents and Settings. I played with different themes but the result is the same.Below is …

HiSince I installed AS long time ago I lost the default cloud layer, that were following under the airplane when low visibility.I think it was cirrus clouds generated. It made a strong edge in mountanais areas.I also think most people want to get rid of it, myself including, but now I want it back.Is that posible ?thanksThis is whaty I mean:

Although I've been a user of AS6.5 for some time, it's amazing what I have learned lately by READING THE MANUAL. I realise I've been missing quite a bit. However, I have a question regarding a series of numbers that appear in a METAR report for which I have not found an answer. This is the METAR for KDFW that I received earlier today:KDFW 102353Z 15015KT 10SM FEW060 SCT120 BKN300 38/17 A2969 RMK A02 SLP042 T03830172. Now up to this point I don't have a problem reading the report. After the last entry (T03830172) the following numbers appear: 10411 20367 56013. What do these numbers refer to?Obtaining a report later in the day for the same airport, this series of numbers nor…

What's your best recommendation for the 'supression range' and the 'update' interval settings?Approaching KBDA yesterday I received an ATIS report that indicated skies were 'clear', but fact is, almost since I left KATL, the skies were cloudy and worsened as I approached KBDA. There was a severe Thunderstorm in progress, yet the ATIS message kept referring to the skies as 'clear', but the winds were correct and visibility looked pretty close. Much of the time, the report matches up close enough but everyone once in a while I'll get a report of 'clear' skies when they're anything but.Right now, I've reduced my supression range to 50 mi and my update interval is set to th…

Hey everyone,I have been using ASX for a while now and I love it, it is great I have used it exclusively since I got it. I upgraded to SP3 to hopefully solve this problem but I am still having one nagging problem and is causing major problems especially recently. It is the dreaded drastic wind shifts.I am flying right now and in this flight from KTYS to KORD I have had huge winds usually around 80 knots, only problem is they are not staying consistent. They are changing from Headwinds to tailwinds and coming off the right side of the nose instantly switching to the left side which causes me to get knocked off course and the autopilot has to go nuts to fix it.In the bi…

I just purchsed ActiveSky and ActiveSky graphics and tried a few themes in AS graphics which didnt seem to work. But I noticed snow on the runway in KSEA in August. I went to AS graphics options and restored default FS9 textures but the snow on the runway turnoffs, etc. is still there. AS WX works fine.http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn245/a...10-11-52-76.jpg

HiI've got ASv6.5 build 552 on FS9 Win XP.I've noticed recently that even if my destination airport is shown as raining, I don't get the rain until I've landed. Which is no fun.I have 'Use update suppression' checked and have it set at 10000ft with a suppression range of 100nm.Would unchecking update suppression do the trick or should I do something else? Thanks in advance for any help/advice.

Hi,I have AV6.5 and FS9, which works pefectly 99% of the time.I'm having a strange problem @ Lago's Honolulu (w/ Mega Hawaii scenery underneath); the weather will not update.I see the clouds, but the temp remains at 15C, the pressure at 29.92 and the winds calm. This happens no where else.It must be something to do with my scenery, I suppose. Is there anything scenery-wise that might affect AV6.5 in this way? Thanks...- daniel

Hi,After a long time I reinstalled FSX and ASX. I am running ASX on a networekd laptop runing Vista Home Prem and the FSX on teh main PC running WInXP.All the network stuf are working sim connect etc. When Started ASX I see the message at FSX that ASX is connected and weather depication starts and weather loaded messages. THe strange think is that the weather does not always agree with the metar or on the departure airport the metar is correc tbut on the arrival the metar is not. What is strange is that if I go to the FSX weather menu on teh user defined options the correct wx is shown there, ie Winds qnh tem etc are the same as on ASX Metar but these are seemed that are n…

I've had issues when running Active Sky X along with Reality-XP GNS530WAAS software. For whatever reason, when contacting ATC, frequencies start changing and things start behaving very erratically. It finally settles down but it occurs every time I change freqs. When running FS X w/Active Sky standalone, everything runs fine. When running FS X w/GNS530 standalone, everything runs fine.Put them together, things go boinkers.Has anyone else seen this issue? Thanks.PatBQuadcore Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9650, 3ghz | Intel DX38BT | 4GB RAM | NVidia GeForce 8800 GT | Vista 64 | DirectX 10 | FS X Acceleration

Hi, I just installed ASX. I have got past the initial simconnect problems, but have come up against another wall. After start up all goes smoothly until I get an error 'Problem writing weather values:Access to the path 'systemcDocuments and settinsAll UsersApplication Dataasx-wx-info.dat' is denied. (Error) Source='Therefore no weather in my sim.I did a forum and web search but could find nothing. All relevant folders are shared with full permissions, but I can't find a way to give permissions specifically to the user on my ASX PC. Is that the problem? Thanks for any help.

I have always enjoyed flying with ASX-AG and AS before that. Just as important to me as a good addon aircraft.Today I saw a Metar for MDPC which translated 'Widespread Dust' (DU), which I have never seen before.I thought surely ASX-AG does not support this phenomenon and to check I loaded ASX and a flight from MDPC.I was impressed by what I saw at the airport. Exactly as I would think widespread dust would look like. Very nice! This leads me to a question: Are there any Metar condition that ASX-AG does not simulate?

Not sure if it is related to XGraphics, but I can't see the sun disk in the clear sky. I tried several settings in XGraphics but I don't get the disk back. Please help if you know how. :)Thanks,Dirk.

I just wanted to point out, that ASX seems to be DESIGNED to be used with high-speed internet. It does not work well with dial-up...it does not work as well with downloading wx, then going offline and flying.Certain things do not work well, such as visibility limits not being respected all the time, and wx transitions with offline mode.On the other hand, it's AMAZING with the live connection going. Vis limits seem to now be respected, and wx transitions are much improved.Plus it's really neat to have some weather website up with realtime radar, while you're flying. And then in ASX you can see the same weather, and avoid it.I could never do any of this with offline mode…

After having used ASX for many months without any problems I just started getting exception errors. When I start the program it will load about 95% then I get error message that says:Unhandled exception has occurred in your applicationObject reference not set to an instance of an object. This happens about 3 out of 4 times I start the program...when it does load without an error it runs just fine. I am using Vista 32 and ASX build 1160.Here's the ASX log:15:23:04: Logging Initialized15:23:04: XEngine v1.0.0.332 Copyright
