Comment first. In the help section under voice, it is given that to get a weather briefing to tune to 122.00. That's fine. Then, to get a destination voice report, tune to "122.02" Well, technically, it's 122.025. I didn't know that see and when I tried to manually tune WilcoPubs E-Jet FMC with 122.02, it said "invalid entry," and that was because I didn't know/forgot about the .025 instead of just .02. I just thought it would be nice if sometime the help file were updated to say 122.025 so that newbies might not get confused.Anyway, the question I have is that I tried to match the wind direction and speed that the voice gave on 122.025 to textual briefing material and ei…

Not sure what is going wrong. AS always worked well before I installed SP3. Any ideas? A brief look through the posts didn't result in any standouts.FSX SP1, AS SP3, XP SP2. I tried not using TrackIR, still the same. Not sure what is going on. I can open FSX, load a flight, the progress bar gets to 100% and.... CTD. :( No problems with FSX if I don't use AS.

Hello:I just installed ASX on my laptop and FSX is installed on my desktop. I have SB4 on the ASX computer, and it connects fine to FSX, however; when I try to connect ASX it won't. I keep getting a message that the simconnect client is not present for the FSX computer, but it is as SB4 works and connects fine. Any ideas?Regards,Ron

Well, I brought this up after installing ASX many months ago, and I guess there just wasn't much interest. So I'll try again! Here's what I'm asking for . . .I find the vis layers that show up when I load online weather with ASX to be sometimes very poorly done, which of course, is how FSX is displaying them. I would really like ASX to offer, in its configuration settings page, an option to for example, "Set minimum visibility layer should be X nm's. This way, if one wanted to eliminate the 10 and 20 mile vis layers that look . . . awful in mountainous regions for example, one could set this slider to 50nm. I do this manually almost every time up, but I'd love to not…

FSX has made great strides in depicting a low ceiling of say 2000 feet, but still as I fly above the ceiling I am able to see the ground "through" the cloud layer. Any way of thickening up the density to prevent this? Thanks, Kyle

Just wondering about this. Searched but couldn't find this question, sorry if I missed it.I'm exploring doing my flight planning outside of FSX. Specifically, taking a plan from flightaware, parsing it at SimRoute, and exporting. SimRoute recogizes several lat/long formats, as does FSX. So far, the only format I seen ASX recognize is XXXXNXXXXXW, for example. So 5400N04000W works in a NAT route, where 54/40 is not recognized by ASX.To help me streamline my planning, are there any other coordinate format recognized by ASX? Thanks in advance.Regards,

HiI have been using ASX for a while and very happy with its perfermonace.I have been saving a few special weather files (hurricanes, snow etc.)for future useI just realized in the past week that ASX only works with current WX for the day I am flying. Now If I try to open a saved file from a previous date, it seems OK, no error messages, however, it hangs for while and then it crashes to desk top.I am up to SP3 update. What seems to be the problemThanksBill

For my last several flights, I've noticed that ASX does not report Average Winds Aloft. Rather it gives me an average at zero elevation. I still have the grid showing winds at differnt altitudes for my waypoints, just not the average at the bottom of the briefing page.I don't know that this is an ASX issue, as Radar Contact has now stopped giving me climbing instructions all the way to my cruise altitude. It's as though these programs are having difficulty reading my FS flight plan, although it's beyond my expertise to know for sure.I am using the FS flight planner, and have a registered copy of FSUIPC. This is happening on PMDG 747.I have also posted this in RC's forum. …

Having just got back online again with the release of SB4, relatively consistent weather of course is needed. I have noticed on a couple of occasions now a fundamental disagreement in weather comditions between ASX, Real World and Vatsim. For instance right now I'm on my way into KMIA with the following METAR's.Vatsim: KMIA 251453Z 12007KT 10SM FEW030 SCT050 SCT250 31/23 A2995 RMK AO2 SLP143 T03060228 51009ADDS:Output produced by METARs form (1602 UTC 25 August 2008)found at http://adds.aviationweather.gov/metars/index.php KMIA 251553Z 12011KT 10SM FEW030 SCT250 31/23 A2995 RMK AO2 SLP142 T03110228ASX:KMIA 251453Z 26207KT 10SM FEW030 SCT050 SCT250 31/23 A2995 RMK AO2 S…

I just got XPax for FS9 and was wondering if it's possible to save an XPax manifest and reload it at a later time if I had to save a flight and fly the rest of it later. So is that possible or does skipping to the cruise state put people on an airplane after reloading a saved flight?

Hey do you have to do to get this thing to display the correct weather for the current time. I dont like to have it update as I go so i have unchecked that option I just want to download it once and go. No matter what I do the weather that ASX dls is not right. For example the METAR right now for LAX is : KLAX 241550Z 32005KT 4SM HZ OVC005 18/16 A2988 RMK AO2 SLP116 T01830156And ASX says:KLAX 232350Z 27016KT 10SM FEW030 22/16 A2985Whats deal ???Mark

Good afternoon,I have been searching everywhere trying to find information on how to use active sky x and FSUIPC. I have found info that shows Active Sky 6.5 works with it but nothing about ASX. Can someone claify whether ASX will work with WideFS or do I need another add on (simconnect) to run my active sky on a second computer.Eric Fields

Hello:I have an add on (FSPassengers) which only works when FS9 is run in administrator mode under Vista. Unfortunately, AS2004 does not seem to detect FS9 when it's running in administrator mode ... the status bar just displays "Load Flight Simulator to Begin Weather Processing"I tried running AS2004 in administrator mode as well, but this didn't seem to make a difference. If I uncheck the administrator option from FS9, it works fine.I realize these are old products, but just wondering if there is a suggested fix.

After updating Active Sky with the latest update, I notice that after I load the flight plan. Active Sky asks me if I want to install weather related graphics. I hit OK. X graphics goes through loading the weather related graphics. Immediately after that, a box pops up saying something about wind synthesis. That box stays on until ASX is turned off on exit from FSX. This would not be an issue at all, if this box didn't block the box that tells me when the X graphics has completed installing the new graphics set. Since I can't move this box, I don't know when the new graphics set has been installed and I can start FSX.Am I doing something wrong or is a way to prevent …

I may have downloaded the GE wx-influenced textures to FSX path. Is there a way to determnine if my current FSX install contains traces of my past blunder? Anyway, which folder (or even files, if possible) in FSX do I need to recover to make sure they all are the stock ones. I wish I could write down the paths to FSX and FS9 somewhere in an 'ini' file for GE and not have it looking for them off the registry each time . Thanks,Dirk.

I was on a night flight, and could swear I saw a meteor streak across the night sky. Pretty cool and totally unexpected. Is this ASX or FSX? Or was I seeing something else?Regards,

It occurred to me today that I have been using ASX and XG for the last few months without ever posting to say how much I have enjoyed them. My bad! Let me correct that right now.Not a day goes by that I don't marvel over the weather in my sim. I have experienced the ordinary as well as the extraordinary. And combining your wind-smoothing with FSUIPC, my aircraft's integrity and flight stability are always intact. There are so many wonderful things written about AS, but usually not in this forum, where we naturally come with questions or problems.Well, let me just say a HUGE "Thank you" to the team that has put this all together for us simmers! This is IMO a definite must-h…

When obtaining a weather report by importing a flight plan from FS9 I get conflicting wind speeds. For example I just did a FP for KLAS-KSAN and the nav log and waypoint section shows the following: Average Route Winds for 22000ft: 252/6So I averaged the wind speeds in this section and came up with 7.85Now in the winds aloft box there is no column for FL220 so averaging the speeds between FL180 & FL240 I got an average of 9.75 for wind speed. So I'm a little confuse as to the exact wind speed to enter into the FMC.Thanks for any explanation for the differences. This could possibly vary significantly at higher elevations.
