Hi Hifi Team!I have a server Vista HP 64 bit and a client xp32 ????(Maybe that is the problem??)I can get traffic IA working OK but whenever I try to connect with ASX I get the same as other user have reported.....can not update weather error.I also tried everything BUT when I tried the manual uninstall it di not allow me to do so because of the protection system.Are there any other ways to update the file?Kind regards and God blessAlfred

Hi,I have downloaded and installed ASX, updated to latest version and done all the necessary settings on the .ini and .xml file. ASX now commnicates with no problem with my FSX however I keep getting Exception error:14.I have checked this forum and downloaded and replaced the dat file given in one of the posts but that did not do any help.Can you please help about what might be the problem?hanks in advance and best regards,barkay

Forgive me if this has been asked before. Just wondered if this can be done in ASX as it is in ASv6.5? I recently completed a flight where I checked the destination airport on the Report tab to be raining with 1/4 mile vis. I flew past the airport around 7000ft and saw it just to be scattered clouds. It stayed this way until I was inside a 2 mile final when the reported rain and reduced visibility kicked in.Thanks,Rob

I am not sure if this has anything to do with ASX or XGraphics, but I have a strong suspicion it might.I installed ASX and XGraphics a few days ago. After some initial problems with Vista, it is now working satisfactory. However, every time I load an aircraft, it seems to be initialised at a few feet above the ground. When it falls down (putting the plane at -2 feet), FSX is registering it as a landing. Not a big deal maybe, but one of those little annoying things along.Otherwise, I love the way that the world just looks so much better on the screen. :-jumpyBest regards,Annasara

Hi,Got an error log during an uninstallation of X Graphics and when checking the log it says...08:57:11 den 17 oktober 2008 - Folder Delete Error: The directory is not empty....but what folder does it refer to so I can check it out manually?I belive the main folder for your products is HiFi (in my case running Vista 64bit it's C:Program Files (x86)HiFi) and now I only have one folder inside that folder which is called XEngine which I belive is the folder for Active Sky X which I still have installed and want to keep installed.TIA for your help!

Dear HifiSim TeamThe long awaited release of a three holer this week made me take FSX out of my bookshelf where it sat since I uninstalled it back in October 2006.Anyhow, to make a long story short - ASX is great - after a bit of tweaking in FSUIPC (full version), ASX performs as it should, very stable and accurate winds, no issues at all, none of the notorious wind shifts - except over the North Atlantic.Once I leave the mainland and stations become fewer, all #### brakes loose, tailwinds become headwinds, wind directions shift 180 degrees forward and back every couple of minutes plus the wind speed is not accurate either.This stops again once I reach the other side of t…

I have spent the last 3 hrs trying to get ASX to connect to FSX. I have triple checked all setting and can get simconnect to connect to AI traffic as per the test in the manual. Everything checks out OK but cannot get any weather to display in FSX. I have attached 2 logs files one is the log from ASX and the other in a edited version of simconnect log. The original file was nearly 1 Meg. I really need help with this. I would credit myself with reasonable network knowledge... what am I missing.Andrew

Is there a way to disable the active radar in as6.5Im having a bit of a problem where it seems that the active radar is being called for by a couple of addons ive installed,and when this happens I see flickering in the top left of the screen for a few moments then the sim just locks up.I was quick enough last time to pause the sim (FS9), to realise what was happening.Now I know 100% that this is NOT a problem with AS6.5, but i would like, if possible to be able to remove or even remap the keystrokes for the radar, To be honest i seldom use it so if the only solution was to delete it from my modules folder that would be fine .Any suggestions guys ?Thanks Mark

Greetings all,I am in the search for a good "laymans" term guide on how to install ASX/XGraphics on my second networked computer; as well as the other software(s) needed to make this work?I'm not a computer genius, but did get my two computers, one printer and a laptop to all talk to each other lol.I've done some searching here in the Avsim forums, but man there is alot to sort through and I am just wondering if there is a good guide or two to get this to work?Thanks all!

I have a problem when using both ASX and AS6.5, I will refer to FSX/ASX but its similar with AS6.5/FS9. I very often fly VFR at low altitudes say 2000 to 4000 feet and load the route into ASX Flight Plan option. The wind to the first waypoint today was 227/25 (on the plan readout) but the actual wind in FSX was 208/8 hense the 'Hdg to Fly' and time to waypoint will be slightly out. This was the same for every waypoint along the route, predicted wind speed was 25 to 27 knots astual was 8 or 9.This makes trying to fly an accuate VFR couse difficult.Glen

Hi, i just installed windows vista 32 bit, FSX, and xpax but now xpax wont play the sounds correctly. I mean the audio is playing but more like a robotic way...??? I have tried to reinstall aginb and agin but nothing works anyone can help???Tnx

Hello,I am using ASv6.5 with FS9.I am just wondering whether your destination (as selected in the flight plan box) is affected by the suppression range as far as weather updates go?Reason I ask is, I recently had a situation where I was approaching an airport where the last updated metar was reporting 150 metres visibility, which was below minimums. I went into the hold at a fix which is aprox 10-20 miles from the airport by memory, waiting for the weather to improve, however the destination metar did not appear to update, so I pressed the refresh button and the metar updated.The new reported visibility was 900 metres which was above minimums, therefore I attempted an ap…

Hello,I have ASv6.5 and ASG installed on a WideFS machine. When I click ActiveSky Graphics button on the Asv6.5 GUI I get an error message, "could not launch ASG from ASv6.5. Please check your security/AV settings. You can also manually run ASG from the ASG desktop icon."I click the ASG icon on my desktop I get an error message, "activeSky Graphics has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."After reading the FAQs, somehow when I installed ASv6.5 on the WideFS computer it installed on the FS computer. No installation directory on the widefs. Another guy with ASX-FSX problems..Hi everybody.I am as of 1 hour ago a happy owner of ASX, trying to put it together with FSX-SP2(Acceleration) on a Vista64 machine.When I run ASX it starts ok after the elevation. It downloads the weather data, and in general everything works. However, when I launch FS (not from within ASX but from Vista), ASX doesn't recognize that FSX was run (I don't see anything in the log wrt connecting to FSX, I can't click on "Lock to FS position", and I don't see any indication that those two gentlemen are aware of each other).If, on the contrary, I let FSX run from within ASX with the "Launch FS" button, they strike conversation, but then the FS…

Hello,I just re-installed ASX and Xgraphics. I also installed SP3 and SP2 respectivly. I use to get a message box telling after I loaded a flight plan and auto installed the Xgraphic textures for the conditions that stated something to the extent that ASX was completing the wind smoothing/ re-sythesis process.I don't see that any more; is this a problem? I upgraded to Vista 64 in the process maybe it has anything to do with it? Any way to verify?TIA,Robert

I am having a problem with FXPAX and leveling for cruise using FS9. When I come out to cruise the jet begins to rollercoaster up and down which triggers the attendant to seat all passengers for landing. I believe it may be how I loaded the jet because I almost didn't get off the long runway.I sart by going to the PMDG 738 load program and zero out cargo and passenger and the PMDG program save it. Then I boot up FSPax, go to options menu and have the load and weight checked in options menu FPax so FSpax will change the weight as it loads. I know the option page on FXPax has a way you can turn of load and that might be what we have to do for addon on hardware such as PMD…

Hi Jim. The past 2 days, for some reason AS6.5 cannot connect to the server. Normally the asterisks that spread out from the "connecting to HiFi DataNet" phrase while it contacts and downloads information move so fast I can hardly see them. Since yesterday, they move at a snails pace. Eventually I get the "unable to connect...." message. I've tried forcing on your server 1 and 2, but no change.Nothing has been changed on my computer or internet connection since I last used AS about a month ago.What should I be looking for?I cant fly without AS!!Thanks,Dave P

OK, I am on runway 28 which faces West. ASX tells me that the winds are 220 at 12kts. That means that the wind is coming from a SSW direction. The wind sock does indeed seem to be pointing the right way. Why is it then that as I roll down the runway, I am fighting with my joystick to the right by trying to keep the aircraft straight because the wind is pushing me from the right so that I almost end up on the left hand side of the runway. In other words, the wind appears to be coming from the opposite direction to what ASX says, ie. 220 (SSW). The wind should of been pushing me to the right of the runway if the wind is 220 degrees shouldn't it? Can someone explain this wei…

I've bought and installed XPax and SP1. No problem under FSX, but when I change in the Options screen the sim from FSX to FS9 I can't connect to the sim. During setup I choose FSX. Do I have to install again for FS9??ThanksAndres

When I'm watching in reallife outside it's sometimes overcast. But when I fly with FS9 in this actual weather above the clouds I see the ground while it's overcast while I'm on the ground in reallife. What are the right settings for overcast weather also above the clouds with a plane?
