I run FSX and ASX in a network. When starting ASX and then FSX I get the following log entries: 19:42:53: Problem writing weather values: Could not find a part of the path 'F:asx-wx-info.dat'.(Error) Source = 19:42:58: 7761 stations were scanned (732 did not provide recent data)19:42:58: Weather stream fully populated with new data19:43:08: Exception received: 1619:43:09: Exception received: 16The exception then repeats. Could I get some help with this? Peter.

Hi folks. Saved Active Sky 6 to an external drive and had a new PC built.Installed AS6 to the new PC drive from the external drive installation seems to be OK but get the following eror; 1324.. Chilkatzip.dll and Chilkat2zip.dll in FS9 OK but can't get ASS6 to work. Any ideas?John.

I used/use it and it worked/works great, but am in the process of tweaking a couple things, and wanted to make sure I had this installed again if I lose my previous set-up.Can you repost, or link to that post with instructions?Thanks

HiThanks for a great product.I got AS6.5 for use in fs9 on a vista machine.I would like to know if it is posible to change the ceiling, so that the visibility graduation happens at a higher altitude. For instance at 34000 feet. Now it seems to work at a much lower altitude. I think it would make the simulator look much more realistic. If I take off on a foggy day as soon as I get above a certain altitude it gets all clear. I know I can change the maximum visibility but I would rather change the ceiling.thanks

hey guys just got fsx and install pmdg 744 and active sky! was flying from ymml to yssy just then and few little problems in the cruise, the wind was meant to be according to actice sky 296/74 but during the crusie the wind was about 100kts and was varying from 280-100 degrees making the stick shacker go off and airspeed go through the roof any ideas?thanks!

Hello!I have Active Sky since 1 year, and now I have Ground Environment Pro from Flight One.I don't know how to use the software both.I installed Ground textures from GE Pro; an I closed him; After I started Active Sky 6 (for FS9), and I load my flight plan, and after, I click on GE Pro button, and follow instructions.It's the good way, or I forgot something? (I don't change anything about meteo on GE PRO)Thank You!

When loading my flight plan and hitting "Process" or "Refresh Data" on the briefing page in ASX, I get the following error dialog:"Please try again in a moment.Briefing wx process unable to complete due to incomplete weather synthesis..."This is on the attached flight plan from KLAX to NTAA. ASX is running in vmware on a macbook pro via SimConnect, but this is the first time I've had this problem. It's been doing it all day so the "wait a moment" isn't really helping much :)Weather depiction seems fine, if the winds seem to be way off of what they should be.Edit: Should mention this is ASX Build 1122.-stefan

I currently have Active Sky 6.5 installed for FS9. Would there be any additional benefit (or problems) if I also installed FLIGHT ENVIRONMENT for 2004?thanks, JL

I haven't pinned down exactly when this occurs, but it appears to prohibit the weather in the sim updating. What does it mean? I'm running XP Pro SP3, ASX SP3, and FSX SP2/Accel. It seems to always occur if FSX is running before ASX is started, but I don't have anything more specific.What info do you guys need to zero in on this?Regards,SAM

Hey I'm a longtime user of FS....I just had a serious hard drive CRASH. I am using FS9 and having to reinstall everything on the new hard drive. I can open the old hard drive to retrive files and see the Hifi file and see the Set up exe file with proof of purchase and key file and under FS 9 find the weather file with Active Sky. I have not even reinstalled the FS9 yet. Getting all ducks in a roll for some long nights. So what do I need to do please. Thank You So Much.........Really enjoy Active Sky......Scooter

I may have a solution to the Exception 14 problems I and others ar having when running ASX on a network.As others, I too did all the network tests and could see, and write to, the shared folders as requested by Jim.This evening I studied the documentation again, especially part 6: Configuring ASX. where it tells you how to set up the registry manually.I found that 'HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareHiFiXEngineAppDataPath:' string value was missing.I added that value and set it to the App Data path on the FSX computer (server).No more exception 14 errors and the weather is being updated, i.e. working as it should do.I have no idea why that string value was missing but it could be w…

It seems that the majority of the time the pre-boarding announcements play fine but as soon as I close the doors and retract the jetway... no more announcements. Sometimes they play... sometimes they don't. Any idea what could be causing this? I have it set up to automatically open doors, connect to FS and start boarding. I am starting XPax after opening my flight and starting Radar Contact, AISmooth, etc.Thanks,

I put all the necessary entries in the registry for ASX so it doesn't ask me to show the paths to the flight simulator folder, flight plans folder on the main FSX PC anymore. But each time I start XG it requests me to show the path to Flight Simulator folder and then to FSX folder in Application Data on the main machine. I tried to add shared folders, added paths in the registry in XGraphics section, but nothing helps. It's quite annoying to show it each time. Is there a way to fix it anywhere?Thanks,Dirk.

I am encountering the same problem that I see some others here with getting ASX to work from a client PC. I have followed your instruction in the user guide to the "letter" again and again and can not see what I am doing wrong. I am posing my XEngine.log file for asssistance. Assuming I'm departing KORD at 1900Z and arriving at KMIA at 2130Z on 11/18/08. I want the most accurate weather depiction from ASV6.5 for this flight plan. As I understand it, I have two options- download the historical weather for 1900Z on 11/18/08 and load a flight plan and import and use "new route" and the weather will be depicted via TAF's when the METAR time has elapsed- OR- download the METARS for 19Z, 20Z, 21Z for 11/18 and use "offline sequential playback" mode with FS time and offline mode. Which of the two options above would give me the most representative weather depiction of the actual weather during this flight time/plan? When using "new route" instead of …

Guys, what is the minimal resolution of the desktop for ASX? If my memory serves me right it used to be 1024x768 before the reinstall. Now I can't run it on anything lower than 1280x960. What is the minimal?Thanks,Dirk.

sorry foer my bad english I`m german....I am having problem with getting Active X to take "over" the weather from fsx. I have been working on a weather theme for FS9 with Microsofts Weather Theme Creator and it is not the most user friendly program to use. My question is can Active Sky 6.x create weather themes that I can export to send to others FS9 users for installation in their sim?Specifically .wt and .wtb files.With out knowing how FSX works is it possible load a FS9 weather theme into FSX?ThanksDave

ASX ver 1160 installed, FSX.Starting on an airport I know has cavok conditions.Clear all weather.Start ASX, it connects, and after a little while, the sky is crowded with cumulus, total overcast.Strange, I know it is CAVOK, I think to myself. Then, in "report" page, the airport I am at is indeed reported NO CLOUDS.So how on earth is it possible for ASX to give me a total overcast when the report in ASX is telling me it is Sky Clear?I can of course give you a screenshot, but you have probably heard about it before.

I too am experiencing the ":Exception received : 14" error. I have a networked configuration, ensuring that folders on my FSX pc have been set up to share and allow networked users to change my files.I test the configuration and successfully pass when running the AI Traffic.exe program.
